Pro: Right on the beach, fully equipped kitchen available in cabins, combination locks so no keys to lose, fire pit is wonderful with a sunset, a few chairs available
Con:. No view of water from rooms, not enough chairs on beach for everybody, difficult to find owner, a bit grimy and tired
Rooms in need of a fresh coat of paint, and better cleaning. Hairs found on shower ceiling and walls, towels stained and dingy, never saw manager.
This resort is truly right on the shores of Lake Superior. We had Cabin 9, which is a duplex with Cabin 8, and our back window was about 20 feet from the lake! The cabin was roomy and clean. The upstairs bedroom had a very comfortable queen bed and an air conditioner. There was plenty of room to sit and watch the sunset, plus a communal fire pit. We brought our dog, and there was plenty of room to walk her on the grounds. The owner is super helpful and loaned us several useful books on the area. We would love to come back.
Room was outdated, but had access to lake, sunset, etc. Family-owned. Felt like grandma’s cottage. Owners were very eager to help us enjoy the stay and scenery nearby. Room was clean. Just a cool place to stay, with or without kids.

My wife and I stayed here for a couple nights as part of a longer visit to Michigan's UP. We were looking for a base to explore the Porcupine Mountains and Keweenaw Peninsula and we found the location great for that. As other reviews have noted, the place isn't super fancy, but to me that is part of its charm. It was clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, dog friendly, hosts were accommodating, tv and wifi worked great--and it is located literally feet from the Lake Superior shore. One of the things I was really hoping to do on this trip was to find Yooperlites--a kind of rock that was fairly recently "discovered" in the UP and glows fiery orange under UV light. We were lucky enough to find a couple of dozen of these rocks combing the beach at night with our UV flashlights. Kind of like an adult Easter egg hunt and certainly a highlight of our trip. All in all a very nice place to stay--just wish our schedule would have allowed us to stay longer. Highly recommend and would not hesitate to come here again…

What an amazing experience to sit on the shore of Lake Superior and watch the evening sunset from the Superior Shores Resort. Nothing fancy, but I can tell you that the positive energy of this place made our stay so enjoyable. The hosts are so sincere in their way of making guests feel at home in the UP. Cannot wait to return

This is our ninth stay at Superior Shores. That, in itself, should speak volumes. This little resort is our sanctuary. It is clean and well maintained. The sunsets here are stunning! We have met so many nice people here over the years. But the best part of our stay is always our hosts, Don and Linda. They bend over backwards to make sure we have everything we need to be comfortable. We are so well taken care of here. And you won’t find a more reasonably priced resort on the lake anywhere!

We stayed for a Ski trip it is a nice clean place, it was a great view out the kitchen window of Superior with a lot of waves. We love the room we have to spread out, not a motel room. It was a cabin and we really enjoyed being there

Excellent price, stayed for one night. Good size room, super clean, hot water, nice shower, vintage decor, but good for us. Had a table with two chairs, coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, nice size bathroom. Stayed at the Inn Town motel/hotel the night before and this was like a luxury after that. (sorry to say) You can walk down to the shore, not a real beach, lots of logs on the shore to help for erosion I believe. Had a fire pit, and felt really welcomed there. I think the Linda is one of the owners (sorry if I got you mixed up..we traveled alot in Oct) Anyway, she gave me some books on waterfalls to use for reference, was very kind and the off season deal was amazing, $49.95 including tax...wish we found you the night before!!! Will be back when in the area!!!

We stayed here in late October, and the fall colours were great. There are 8 motel rooms and two cottages, we stayed in one of the cottages by the lake. Unfortunately, it was too cold and windy to swim, because there was an excellent sand beach in both directions. We found many cool rocks and driftwood. Inside, the rooms are very nice. There is a full kitchen, with a gas oven and stove, microwave, sink, and plenty of cooking ware. The beds were a little short upstairs, but it was fine. All in all a great place to spend the night on the shores of the lake.

We first stayed in the beach house and on the fourth day moved to cabin #11. We so enjoyed the fabulous water and sunset views. Oh and yes the natural "noise machine" of the water was wonderful!!! The hosts are wonderful and have so much knowledge to share. We travel with a dog so it was wonderful that they were dog friendly. At first I thought we were to far from all the hiking trails yet it really worked out. We will definitely be back!!!!
