Detailed Reviews
This is an above average hotel. It is located across the parking lot from a shopping mall not far from the I-96 freeway exit. There are multiple restaurants nearby. I am a lifetime Bonvoy Titanium member and stayed for three nights while traveling to the Detroit area for a trade show.
Check in went smoothly. Unfortunately I did not receive any kind of room upgrade but that’s fine. The room was a decent size, very clean and well furnished. Bed felt pretty comfortable to me. The hotel was pretty quiet - my room faced the inside courtyard.
As mentioned in other reviews, this hotel does not have a lounge. Elite Bonvoy members can grab all the snacks you want from the kitchenette/store next to the desk. I believe they closed their lounge during Covid and have continued with this offering.
I ate room service on two nights. It was pretty good. No problem placing the order and it was delivered quickly. I ate breakfast on one morning - it’s free for elite members or you can waive it for points. It was a good buffet.
Overall a good hotel and I would have no issue coming back.

Stayed 3 nights here for a wedding I was part of. It was a good experience. I felt my room could have been cleaned a little more throughly in terms of corners, nooks and crannies, dusting, etc. We used a suite for the bridesmaids to get ready and it was huge with 2 bathrooms. So that was perfect. The hotel was great at keeping us posted about vendors arriving and gave us some salad dressing when our lunch arrived without any. Staff very polite. I would recommend renting a car if you fly in because Ubers are often unavailable or very expensive plus there’s nothing within walking distance. It is near a large shopping mall but still that’s quite a walk. My plan had been to use Uber as needed and that didn’t work well. I’m not sure if that’s pandemic related or what.

Pricey hotel. My husband and I were shopping at the mall near the hotel. It was an expensive hotel compared to others in the area, however, we decided it would be kind of a Christmas present to ourselves. The stay was fine - room spacious, bathroom nice, beds comfy. The elevator was so far from the rooms....good way to get some exercise if you don't mind that. Making reservations. was so cold and unfriendly, it made you feel as if you didn't want to stay. When calling to book our stay, the message given was you had reached Marriott booking (nowhere had it said this was a Marriott hotel) and you could have a text sent to you, or you should book online. I wouldn't do either. The 3rd choice was to wait for a representative....which was my choice. The representative was foreign and difficult to understand (I hate this). I did book our room. When entering the hotel I told the receptionist we were checking hotel rates in the area; just in case they offered a better rate inside the hotel. The receptionist coldly answered - "you have to book online". What a cold, insulting greeting. We would not book at this hotel again, for that reason alone. When you're considered a guest, I thought you were treated in a more welcoming manner.

My family drove from Cleveland to Novi for my daughter's dance competition on last Saturday. We did not plan to spend the night in Novi, so did not book a hotel. Due to some changes on travel plan, we arrived at Novi in early morning and were very tired. We need find to hotel which can allow us to check in early, so we can rest before my daughter's dance competition. We called around and found most hotels either don't have room available or can not let us check in in early morning. We tried The Baronette Renaissance as the last hope. Jackson at the front desk saved my day and let us checked in right after we booked a room for the night via Marriot App. His kind help and professional service is greatly appreciated.
The hotel itself is very clean and in great shape. The rooms are spacious. As a Titanium member, I was offered free breakfast (excellent quality) for all 4 of us. Besides that, there are also free snacks and beverages from the little lounge/convenience store in the lobby for us throughout our whole stay due to the executive lounge closure during pandemic. The housekeeping service is also great. We asked for more pillows, towels, sleeping robes, etc. All were delivered to our room promptly. I have travelled to many places and lived in many Marriott hotels all over the world due to my work. This Baronette Renaissance is definitely one of my favorites.

Very nice hotel - good size room with twin queen beds, very large TV, balcony. The sheets were clean and the bed comfortable. The room was quiet. The walk in shower was very nice although the grout in the tile could use cleaning. The breakfast buffet was a wide variety but many items were out and the food was cold. The service was terrible - no service.

I don't know if it was the insanely loud buzzing of the fridge I'm room or the person watching TV at max volume, but I've been up since 4:30am, now it's 5 and I cannot sleep bc of the excessive noise. I can't tell if it's a TV or someone talking loud on the phone, but it's ridiculous at 4:30am.
Called the front desk, dude couldn't have cared less
Here for work trip for a group meeting. I selected this hotel and will never return bc of this. How am I supposed to work all day on 4.5 hours of sleep???
Why are the walls so thin??? I expect more from a Renaissance. I am titanium elite and expect to be able to sleep until 6:30am. The fridge is still buzzing and I can hear clear conversation in my room.
Bed is uncomfortable too, feels like a residence inn level bed for Renaissance pricing

We were very pleased in the beginning but through our 2 day stay, the dissatisfaction heightened. We were there for a wedding and the plan was to meet for breakfast at the restaurant, needless to say restaurant was closed due to lack of staff, rooms were not cleaned due to lack of staff? Yet there was no discount because of the lack of these amenities? In fact rooms are overpriced. Guests even have to pay for internet? What a disappointment stay

I stayed at the The Baronette Renaissance during Easter weekend 2022. I had a guest who'd never been to Michigan with me, and I wanted him to have a great experience. I spent a lot of time researching where we could stay - this hotel ended up being perfect! The front desk was friendly, professional and helpful. Our king room was large, comfortable, nicely decorated and clean. It looked into a courtyard and was very quiet. The pictures on the Marriott website show an older TV style in the rooms, which was a bit of a turnoff, but our TV was a current style and we loved watching HBO Max so easily. We also really appreciated the complimentary Starbucks coffee brewing near the front desk (though there was a coffee maker also in our room)..
The hotel is surrounded by many shopping centers and a nice mall, and is also close to the expressway if you're going to be traveling within metro Detroit. The only thing missing is a pool or hot tub. If we return to the area and need a hotel, we'll definitely stay here again.

Decent hotel next to a mall, rooms were large. Beds were awfully uncomfortable, even my kids had backaches the next morning! Most disappointing was the 'executive floor', which does not exist. Do not pay for this upgrade, there is no executive floor or executive lounge. You can have some free snacks and soda/water from the little store next to registration. This is not honest, and when I questioned this at the time of registration the young lady basically shrugged and offered no apology.
