Beyond expectation!! The Red Horse Inn - Cabin was spectacular!! Quaint - cozy - real wood burning fireplace - and the view was incredible from the picture windows. My husband and I needed a reprieve from the world and spent a night in this accommodating cabin with just each other (there is NO television). This cabin was exactly what we needed. Debbie was so helpful with extras - the breakfast burritos she made us were stellar!!!!! We are already planning a return trip to this awesome getaway tucked into the woods.!!!!
The Morris Estate was even more secluded and quiet than I had imagined -- such a magical and peaceful place. We went for a few days over NYE and ended up experiencing one of the most magical snowfalls and winter wonderlands I have seen in many years! The little trails and paths around the estate are perfect for a little fresh air daily. The accommodations were as described and while there were other guests, the house is big enough where everyone has space throughout the house and from a Covid perspective, that was great but yet meeting others was still easy and doable from a distance. Breakfasts were great and Debbie/Emily were extremely hospitable -- no matter what a guest needed. Debbie did a great job providing some history on the estate which was super nice! I would definitely go back! If the summer is half as beautiful or scenic as what we just experienced -- one cannot go wrong!…
My wife and I had a great time at The Morris Estate for New Year's Eve. The house was very clean and had even more amenities than expected! The inn keeper was very friendly and made it feel like home. We stayed in the River View Suite and it was perfect. Plenty of room in the house common areas and the outdoor hot tub in 20 degree weather was an unexpected bonus. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and the inn keeper was very accommodating to our requests. We will definitely be coming back and would recommend this to anyone else looking for a great night away!
I was looking for some place for my husband and I to "escape" for a long weekend to celebrate him turning 40. Given the pandemic, I wanted a place that was small. The Morris Estate exceeded my expectations. Our room (Ella Suite) was gorgeous, and the steam shower was such a fun touch. We loved the peace and tranquility of the Morris Estate. We visited in the first weekend of October, so it was a little chilly. We enjoyed time in the hot tub, and just relaxing by the numerous indoor fireplaces. It was an incredibly relaxing place to just getaway and relax together, without our kids. While we were there, we rarely ran into the other couples/families staying at the estate. The breakfast both mornings was really good; we enjoyed it, and there was plenty of food on the plate. While in Michigan, we enjoyed some time at the JourneyMan Distillery and Round Barn Estate. Both had great food, and while at Round Barn, we opted to "hike" the trails and enjoy our drinks there. It was a fantastic place, and we will definitely be back (maybe even to the Family Suite one day). It is a beautiful place to reset your body, mind and soul and just unplug.…
The River House is very clean, welcoming, and warm. The common spaces were much larger than we expected and we could keep our distance from other guests. Our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Definitely would go back again!
