We are centrally located in the Upper Peninsula, within an hour of many attractions! Not only do we provide lodging but we also have a very nice, modern campground to service everything from tent campers to big rigs! Camping season runs from the middle of May to early October. The cabins and cottage are open year round. We hope we can be a part of your Upper Peninsula experience!

Detailed Reviews
We selected this campground primarily because of its central location to so many of the great destinations in the UP. We were pleased that they could readily accommodate our small caravan of three rigs (two 40 ft +). The campground was clean, easy to access and well laid out. What really made this place shine above so many others we have stayed at was just how exceptionally helpful and friendly the staff is. When one of our party suffered a medical emergency, the staff went our of their way to ensure we had a place to stay while he was in the hospital and through the 4th of July weekend if we needed it. They were a blessing when we really needed it.

We pulled into Kritter's Northcountry Campground, not having been there before. We were immediately greeted by a staff member and offered any help we might need to get set up.
This is a very comfortable and easy-access campground and you will find everything you need for a great stay.
From our campsite at Kritter's Northcountry, we ventured out and made our way to the Soo Junction Railroad, which we really enjoyed. We then made a quick trip to the Painted Rocks ferry. What a treat that was!
We will be looking forward to staying at the Kritter's Northcountry Campground again real soon!

Thank you for staying with us and we are glad you had a fantastic time visiting some the best beauty in the U.P.. 99.9% of the sites are pull in and pull out with the exception of one which we do not to take down a live tree to make that happen. However, with a minor backup it is still possible to pull out. We hope to see you again when you are in the area.

We have traveled a lot and the Yooper cabin in which we stayed was very relaxing, comfortable, spacious, quiet and better than any hotel room that we have experienced.
The campground was very clean and beautiful. Fall colors were in full bloom which made our vacation to the upper peninsula even more special. The campground owners were very gracious and friendly and you could tell that they really care about their camper's comfort and well being. We highly recommend this campground and would definitely stay there again.

Our family of four stayed in a cabin which was small but pristine. Comfortable mattresses. It was cold the evening we checked in, and the managers offered to light the pilot light of the heater for us. In the morning, they helped us refill our water jug and were just generally friendly and helpful. The location is indeed centrally located -- almost all the major sites are within a 1- hour drive.

Small campground close to the falls and less then an hour to the zoo and pictured rock. The owners are amazing and will go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Our burner went out on our camper stove and they brought their personal gas grill to our site to use. My son needed internet for his college class and they offered him a quiet room in their office. Bathrooms were clean, showers were warm, and kids enjoyed the playground.

Easy to find location, convenient to local attractions. Excellent amenities include clean bathrooms, warm showers, laundry, pet-friendly nature trails, and community wide gatherings. Sites are spacious, level, grassy and partial-to-full shade. Brice & Vickie are excellent hosts who go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. Highly recommend!!!

I reserved this a year in advance and was greeted by the gentleman at the front desk who gave me attitude about not knowing the ins and outs of my confirmation when I asked for any tips or tricks I should know before setting up. Then I arrive at my site to find it covered in dog 💩. I get it the people before us were not good caretakers. But the guys response when I told him about the condition of the site was I thought I picked it all up when I checked the site. Well, I hope he’s not driving. Because he is obviously legally blind. Pros the sites are well spaced and it’s near the ORV trail. Cons the customer service is awful, there are no “perks” like garbage pick up. I wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me.

If you read you confirmation as we suggest you would already know some of the ins an outs of the campground. Our guidelines are also posted on our website for everyone to review. We did clean up the site as we do all the sites after everyone leaves, but one pile of dog doo do was missed from the prior guest. We apologized that it was missed and came right down to the site to clean it up. Taking care of our guest and making their stay great is what we do and is in our reviews. The is a dumpster placed in the middle of the campground for the guest to take their trash to. Garbage pick up is not a perk for you to take care of your own trash. Sorry you found it difficult to walk the 40 yards to it or drive by it on your way out.

The campgrounds were clean and had a nice set up. I liked that the campers were set up facing your neighbor. You could meet them and talk about your day adventure. Play games with them. I learned Ladder Ball. The bathrooms and laundry rooms are clean. Many children were playing on the playground, and playing tag and other games with room to run around. It is located a short drive from many various sights; Oswald Bear Ranch, both the upper and lower Taquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point Lighthouse, Paradise, Saulte Saints Marie, and downtown Newberry for groceries and the Thursday Farmers Market. Larry and Kathy are very nice and do whatever they can to make it a pleasant stay.

+1
Kritter’s Campground is in a perfect location for exploring the UP. It is only 20 minutes to Taquamenon and less than an hour to many other fun things to do. I’m not a camper and I was a little leery about staying in a cabin. We stayed in the Huron cabin and I was pleasantly surprised! It was very clean, cute, and cozy! The queen size bed was so comfortable and the sheets were soft. The shower looked brand new. It also has a small refrigerator (not a mini fridge), microwave, and coffee maker. The campground itself is beautiful with lots of trees and is very clean. The new owners are friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay awesome! We can’t wait to go back and do some more exploring!

It was everything we expected. This is our 5th visit to this campground., every time we visit it is a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. The bathrooms and the grounds are very well maintained. My 9 year old grandchildren love the playground which is nicely located in the center of the property. I like the fact I can throw in a load of laundry when needed. The owners are doing an awesome job providing a clean and safe environment for guests of all ages.
