We selected this campground primarily because of its central location to so many of the great destinations in the UP. We were pleased that they could readily accommodate our small caravan of three rigs (two 40 ft +). The campground was clean, easy to access and well laid out. What really made this place shine above so many others we have stayed at was just how exceptionally helpful and friendly the staff is. When one of our party suffered a medical emergency, the staff went our of their way to ensure we had a place to stay while he was in the hospital and through the 4th of July weekend if we needed it. They were a blessing when we really needed it.
We loved this camp ground! The owners were so friendly and helpful,. Everything was so clean! Having clean restrooms and showers is very important to us. These restrooms were immaculate! We enjoyed our stay, plenty of things to do on the property and away from it as well. My only complaint was sharing a front yard with someone, but we should have looked at the grounds map a little better. A good site for family gatherings with 2 campers. We even got a veterans discount ❤️ Definitely 5 star!
Campsites we’re level. Good mix of campers and tents. Nice and quiet. Bathroom were clean. Office staff was very friendly and helpful. Laundry facilities clean and in good repair. Playground and volleyball court for the kids. About 20 minutes to Taquaminon falls. About an hour to Sable falls in Grand Marias. Full hookups. Not many campgrounds up here with full hookups. Good water pressure. If iHAD to say anything at all negative it would be poor cell phone reception. But that’s not in them now is it? I have nothing negative to say. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. They even have a little library work some books you can check out. 😁
It was everything we expected. This is our 5th visit to this campground., every time we visit it is a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. The bathrooms and the grounds are very well maintained. My 9 year old grandchildren love the playground which is nicely located in the center of the property. I like the fact I can throw in a load of laundry when needed. The owners are doing an awesome job providing a clean and safe environment for guests of all ages.
WOW! I have been to many campgrounds but none as clean and friendly as this one! This is a small, family owned campground and it is everything we could have hoped for. I have never seen bathrooms/shower houses that were so well-maintained. Honestly they were cleaner than my bathroom at home usually is. The only downfall is that it's about an hour away from Pictured Rocks, but there are a few local attractions nearby such as Oswald's Bear Ranch and a great little pizza place down the road. The owners were very friendly and the campground was safe and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.
All good. Stayed 3 nights on our multi city Michigan adventure trip. The owners are pleasant, friendly and helpful. Grounds are very well kept. Lots of good features. Large sites. Full hook up. Good gravel roads not poor like some other campgrounds. Quite area too. Good prices. Would recommend.
THE CAMPGROUND Really nice campsite - very open - Spacious nice lay out for Travel Trailers, 5th Wheels, Motor Homes. The Owners are very nice and even stopped by our camp site to see how things were going. We stayed in Site 41 - Prime location very big area across from a nature hike area. If you want wood for a fire it is available on the campground - really good deal there too. AREA You are pretty much centered if you want to see Including results for Tahquamenon Falls, White Fish Point or Pictured Rocks. There are stores in the small town exiting Right when you leave the park and a few more options about 20 min drive past that area. OVERALL I see allot of reviews commenting about WI-FI - Honestly Folks NO Where in the U.P is good for WI-FI. If your going to the Upper Peninsula your entering a Wide Spread outage of WI-FI - So don't expect much. Don't base your decision on staying here because of WIFI - As mentioned any where in the UP is pretty much the same…
Place is clean, but you have no privacy. You are just in top of your neighbor. Very concerning that no COVID precautions, no request for the mandatory mask!!!! Bathroom clean, shower with hot water but you need to keep on pushing the button to get the water. Larry very passive aggressive. If you like nature this is not the place to be.
I reserved this a year in advance and was greeted by the gentleman at the front desk who gave me attitude about not knowing the ins and outs of my confirmation when I asked for any tips or tricks I should know before setting up. Then I arrive at my site to find it covered in dog 💩. I get it the people before us were not good caretakers. But the guys response when I told him about the condition of the site was I thought I picked it all up when I checked the site. Well, I hope he’s not driving. Because he is obviously legally blind. Pros the sites are well spaced and it’s near the ORV trail. Cons the customer service is awful, there are no “perks” like garbage pick up. I wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me.
The campgrounds were clean and had a nice set up. I liked that the campers were set up facing your neighbor. You could meet them and talk about your day adventure. Play games with them. I learned Ladder Ball. The bathrooms and laundry rooms are clean. Many children were playing on the playground, and playing tag and other games with room to run around. It is located a short drive from many various sights; Oswald Bear Ranch, both the upper and lower Taquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point Lighthouse, Paradise, Saulte Saints Marie, and downtown Newberry for groceries and the Thursday Farmers Market. Larry and Kathy are very nice and do whatever they can to make it a pleasant stay.
