I have stayed at other properties, and the people are frankly nasty at the other motels. Ted and Sue are kind, friendly, say hello and smile! Wow, now refreshing. Sorry, but this means a lot to me. The room was spotless, clean smelling and you can tell they have a lot of respect of their customers wanting clean and fresh....

We thought we could stay in Marquette. However all hotels were booked. We drove on and many other places were booked to. We happened to stop at Knollwood. Nice place. Friendly host/owner. Clean rooms, wonderful towels and cute outside. There is no coffee maker (that's not so bad) and no microwave. This is due to fire hazard. I get it...

The Knollwood Inn is a wonderful roadside motel in Newberry. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. There is air conditioning and a mini refrigerator. The owner is very kind. We didn't have a reservation so we had to wait to see if there were no-shows. We lucked out. And they have coffee and donuts in the morning.

The owners of this place ( Ted and Sue ) are absolutely genuine and overall great people. This is our second season staying there and we have no complaints. We consider the owners friends. The breakfast isn't bad either!! I would recommend the Knollwood Inn to anyone for any season !!

This is one of my favorite places to stay and I look forward to it every year. A group of us go snowmobiling once a year and Newberry and the Knollwood are a perfect location. You're at center of the UP and the Knollwood is right off a major trail system, perfect for day long snowmobiling trips in any direction....

The room was super clean. Beds were very comfortable. Attractive setting. Hosts were very nice. The room did not have a hair dryer and no phone or drinking glasses. The hotel is located on a busy highway so had some noise all night long but got used to it.
