Detailed Reviews
Lovely location in charming small town between Saumur and Angers with two excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. Spacious and well-appointed rooms and excellent breakfasts. Alain and Christiane exceptionally kind and helpful. This was our third trip. Strongly recommended.

We had a room in the mews of this large French house, which was big and charmingly decorated and a huge bathroom and separate toilet. The bed was very comfortable. Our hostesses were charming and spoke good English. The breakfast was above average offering cheese and hard boiled eggs as well as all the usual continental style things. This was just off the Euro Velo 6 across the bridge so easy to find. You can also hire bikes from this property. Wi fi was a bit hit and miss while were there.

We stayed here recently for four days at the end of our French holiday. We were given a wonderful room with a view over the River Loire, huge bay windows and lots of antique furniture. There was an equally large bathroom with a free standing bath in the centre, two basins either side, a shower cubicle and a separate room off with a toilet and a third basin! The bedroom was lovely, with extra chairs and a table, plus a huge wardrobe with plenty of space to hang clothes and put folded items.
The owner, her husband and daughter were all friendly and helpful, and were willing to offer travel advice and leaflets about places to visit. They also have a shop in the grounds with local produce and some interesting souvenirs, all at reasonable prices. There is plenty of parking which is accessed through a large gateway, down the side road next to the building.
This is a Chambre d'Hote and breakfast is taken at a large table, along with other guests. There are lots of choices for breakfast with a hand made pastry or compote, lots of home made jams and bread, croissants and cake, served with tea, coffee or chocolate.
There are several restaurants in the village but be aware that only the Val de Loire restaurant is open on a Wednesday (see separate review).
Overall a very pleasant stay in a lovely place!

This place was perfect for us. We had a bedroom in an outbuilding away from the main house. It was large, bright and airy. The bathroom was lovely, with a jacuzzi shower and everything you need. Large grounds, with patio furniture so we picnicked outside for our evening meal. There was wifi, although only in the main house. A shop on the premises sells home-made produce "terroir". Monsieur and Madame could not have been more welcoming or more helpful. In the morning, Monsieur pumped up our bike tyres with his compressor, making things a whole lot easier. Les Rosiers itself is a lovely little village, with an interesting artisan crafts shop and plenty of other good shops, especially for food.
A delightful experience. We only stayed one night, but could easily have stayed longer.

We had a fantastic stay on our biking trip from Saumur to Nantes. The rooms were large, beautiful furnished and quite romantic. The dinner turned into a French - Norwegian feast, distorting the languages but communicating well with good food and wine to oil the tongue. Breakfast just as good and leaving L'Oie Rouge wanting to return.

Rooms in main house had already gone and we were in "the stables". It was an absolute delight with antique furniture, massive well equiped bathroom and a feel of it's own. We had ordered dinner and were delayed in traffic. When we arrived we joined another couple who were at a table on the terrace and halfway through dinner. The owner promptly served our aperitif and the starter, we chatted with the other couple, had a carafe of excellent wine and somehow, sort of caught up with them. Clever management by owner/chef. We had a most enjoyable evening in a beautiful setting. We will return with friends. The other couple were quietly enjoying their meal and it must have been a shock to the system when we turned up, but we had a very cheerful evening and a fond fairwell next morning. Breakfast with fresh fruit, homemade preserves etc. Divine.. Thank you Mnsr and
Mdme Batel.

Beautiful estate managed very nicely by our hostess.
Exceptionally spacious rooms with views of the Loire or garden.
Very successful stay with the possibility of sheltering bicycles for those who make the "Bike Night".

Fabulous 19th century estate with lots of trees and tasteful flowers!
We were in the sandalwood room with our two daughters! It is a very beautiful room with a large bathroom, very good and harmonious tastes in terms of decoration by Odile!
She also has excellent culinary talents between the hearty breakfast with many homemade products (brioche, jam, madeleine, etc.) and a refined dinner with garden vegetables and farm products!
Secure parking, a warm welcome!
To recommend without the slightest hesitation!
Thank you Odile for this wonderful moment!🤩🙏😄❤️
