Have been going to Victor Hugo for quite a few years now and enjoy it every single time! We take a villa each year in Loubressac and eat often in St Cere. Lovely menu and service always! You are welcomed and looked after in the lovely courtyard. Food and service is consistently good. We love coming back here each year...

The position of the hotel is ideal, it's right by the river and easy to walk into the " centre ville " Our room was probably the smallest in the hotel (which could have been as it was trip advisor booking) - it was rather cramped,a little tired but clean. The wifi was fairly hopeless as it worked on one...

Only stayed for one night for a business trip, but the service, food, and owners were just outstanding. Great old town french building and feel. Great room, can't say enough and will surely stay here again when I return!

This hotel really should be a 3 star, not the 2 star it advertises at. We found it by chance as we were touring through and intended only to stay one night but we extended another day as it was so good. Great room with a very comfortable bed & nice linen, a good aircon unit, and an excellent bathroom:...

Stayed here for 3 nights in July 2015 whilst touring France, and this hotel was in our top 2 (out of 8 hotels we stayed in). Our room was clean and nicely sized, overlooking the river. The staff were all polite and helpful. The owner even shook us by the hand and thanked us for staying in his establishment on...

We stayed at Hotel Victor Hugo for three nights in late July 2015. Our room was excellent with a well equipped bath/shower room. We dined in the restaurant on the two nights we did not have commitments elsewhere and found the food very good and very elegantly served. The proprietor spoke good English and was very helpful and friendly. We...

We haven't stayed here since we were using a Chambres d'Hotes nearby but got tipped to go here for our dinner. Atmosphere is very friendly, accommodation is good. Dogs are allowed inside which made it more pleasant because ours didn't have to stay in the car. It is honest food in good portions and tastes excellent. Worth your time to...

This was a very nice hotel, very friendly. They dealt with a gluten free diet easily, and spoke good English. The meal was excellent. All the staff were very helpful. St Cere is a lovely little town, medieval, lovely buildings.

Saint-Cere for me was the end of a hiking trip through the Dordogne Valley, and I wanted a place that would be quiet, comfortable, and centrally located in town. This hotel was all three, with a terrific restaurant besides. Situated near a park (and a high school, so you'll share the park) and a stream that runs through town, where...

Beautiful old building decorated inside in simplistic modern colours, very sophisticated but welcoming too. The staff were courteous and very friendly, and especially welcomed our dog. The food was well presented and well cooked. We had Magret (smoked duck) salad which was absolutely divine, followed by quasi veal which was again beautifully cooked and served with mashed potato and stuffed...
