Look, it's fine. For a night or two, it is adequate. The rooms are clean and reasonably comfortable. However, pretty, they ain't. Ours was dingy and incredibly old-fashioned, not in a good way. The décor, furniture and fittings are tired. It's like staying in your granny's out of date spare room in the 70s. Brown, overwhelmingly brown. The downstairs of...

We paid quite a lot for a triple room. Although its location is very good and they offer free parking (very important, since in Gavarnie you have to pay to park anywhere in the town), we found our room quite old. Also, it was very cold in our bathroom and they won't let you touch the heater. They say they...

A simple hotel with a high level of personal service. You are received by the owner, served the meals by the owner. And when leaving you are welcomed back with a smile and a personal handshake. The rooms are OK, the meals are good but not an uforgettable experiece. But the athmosphere is what you seldom find nowadays. The location...

We enjoyed very much our stay here. The room is small but very nice the location is wonderful, near a river. The breakfast was very good too. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, so is better to ask for a room at the first floor if you have a big luggage.

Let me be honest and set the expectations right. No, this is not the greatest hotel in the world, and no, this is not the best restaurant either. Instead it is a real, honest, family run authentic establishment, that with a combination of location, style, food type, service, and the friendliness of owners that makes it a far more pleasant...

This hotel took us to exactly where we wanted to be. It was full of character and our hostess was waiting for us and greeted us by name as we arrived. The room was a bit tired looking but provided us with all we needed for a comfortable nights sleep. The dinner and breakfast were both good. It is a...

What we liked best about the hotel was its slightly off-beat character. The deco was a bit outdated, but in a charming 1950s-hunting-lodge sort of way. The lady running the place was friendly and entertaining, and even though she seemed to be wearing several 'hats' (receptionist, maitre d', bartender), we never had to wait long for service. Dinner was delicious,...

Le Marbore is a quirky establishment run by quirky owners - this is means it will not be to everyone's cup of tea but we really enjoyed it. However Mrs TBD did not spend too long downstairs due to the plethora of stuffed wildlife! The hotel and our room were clean and tidy although our (room 5) bathroom must be...

The hotel fulfilled our requirements. The rooms were clean and large enough and the dinner was adequate, although we felt it was expensive for the quality. Gavarnie is an amazing place in the daytime, but goes very quiet at night. probably because most people are walking.

A hard week walking in the French Pyrenees brings to this small village of Gavarnie. The Hotel Le Marbore is well worth a try, clean comfortable rooms with excellent staff to provide advice and assistance. Meals are filling and there's plenty to choose from. The only down for the hotel, no lift so get a room on the lower levels,
