This is a lovely manoir run by the hospitable Didier who makes you feel very welcome in his home. The house includes sections from the 15th and 17th century and our two bedrooms spanned these. Nicely appointed rooms with private facilities made for a pleasant stay. We particularly enjoyed the lovely swimming pool area, delicious jams at breakfast, the beautiful... More

We were thrilled with our choice of accommodation last night 28/5/14. Didier our host was superb and brought us wine glasses out so we could enjoy our meal in the sun on the terrace. I had picked our room beforehand over the internet and was not disappointed. The Madame de Chateauroux Chamber was delightful and the bathroom was lovely, We... More

This chateau came highly recommended and certainly lived up to our expectation. Didier and his wife are perfect hosts in a delightful peaceful spot in Vouvray. Accommodation was very comfortable - we were given the room Pauline de Nesle which is facing over the front of the property. Thoroughly recommend this B & B for touring the area.

First visited in 2011, when we stayed for 5 days, we went back with two friends in September 2013. It's as though we'd never been away. Didier and Sylvie Baudard De Fontaine once again proved to be amiable and genial hosts. Didier has better English than Sylvie, but they share an irepressable sense of humour, and treat you more as... We were due to stay here for one night on a Saturday at the end of April 2013. We arrived at 6pm after having an accident in Paris. When we arrived it looked like the place had been abandoned. We tried ringing the doorbell, the buzzer, the 2 phone numbers on the name plate at the front door and no-one... More

A chateau is a manor with a tower. Nothing to do with size, sufficiency, or. Royal bequeathment. That is what Didier and Sylvie told us on our last night here. This B&B is more than sufficient. Our local cheese shop in Denver, The Truffle Cheese Shop arranged our tour. There were 10 of us, limited by the number of Limoges... More

We had a superb stay here. The Manoir itself is beautiful and Slyvie and Didier Baudard du Fontaine are a really lovely couple who manage to achieve a homely welcoming atmosphere in stunning surroundings - a rare combination! Our room, Madame Barry was lovely with a very comfortable bed. We were given a tour of the wine tresoir by Didier... More

Didier and Sylvie have every right to be proud of the Manoir, for Didier has recovered his ancestral home after over two hundred years. The other reviews accurately describe this beautiful and wonderful place, which functions as a family home as well as a first class chambre d'hote. But our abiding memory is of a couple who have not come... More

Outstanding in its own field! Definite plans to return. Sylvie & Diedier Baudard de Fontaine are the ultimate hosts: lovely accommodations, delicious and bountiful breakfasts, impeccable taste, and as a generational family member, knows not only the history of the area (which we've traveled several times), but that of this lovely home. You MUST go and experience it.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights on our way to the Dordogne. We both wished it had been for longer. The owner and his wife are charming hosts and we were afforded a very warm welcome. Prior to our departure Didier was kind enough to give us a guided tour of the Manoir which is full of... More
