We had a wonderful stay at Le Chateau Fontenay thanks to our gracious hosts Natalie and Phillipe. The property is huge and there are wonderful paths to take a stroll through the countryside. The rooms are very large and we had a beautiful view of the countryside and cher. The bed and pillows were comfy. Bathrooms are modern and well... More

A beautifully restored chateaux in a great location of the Loire valley. The property is well maintained, has lovely walking trails through the woods along the river or through the vinyeard, and a relaxing swimming pool. The hosts, Natalie and Phillipe, are gracious and happy to share the history of the property, and travel and delicious dining recommendations. They also... More

So many thanks to hosts Natalie and Phillipe for a memorable, relaxing and friendly time. An amazing effort to resurrect this beautiful Chateau, we stayed within the main house. It's fitted out with attention to detail, with decor fitting the period and yet with all the modern conveniences. We used the bikes, the pool, the grounds and had to have... More

Le Chateau Fontenay exceeded our expectations. My daughter and I stayed for in the Cupidon room for two nights this February. The chateau has been lovingly restored and expertly maintained. We would have liked to stay longer. We began each day with a fabulous French breakfast; croissants, bread, homemade jams, cake, fruit, honey made from hives on the property, fresh... More

We stayed here in mid September on the recommendation of relations who live near Paris. We were made very welcome by the owner Nathalie and her family (including a very intelligent and friendly dog Choco). We were accomodated in one of the buildings adjacent to the Chateau, 'La Closerie', which has been converted in to a self contained 'Gite'. We... More

We have just very reluctantly left le Chateau de Fontenay in Bléré. The perfect location to visit both the Chateau de Chenoncau and Chambord and the lovely market town of Tour. After a long day driving and sightseeing we arrived in Fontenay to the warm welcome of Nathalie and Choco ( the perfectly behaved Border Collie). Everything is much more... More

We spent a fantastic week staying with friends in one of the beautiful cottages. It was well equipped and we really appreciated the great hospitality offered by Nathalie & Philippe. Being on a vineyard gave us a great opportunity to sample the delicious wines too. We also appreciated coming home to use the swimming pool having cycled locally during the... More

This is our third visit to Le Chateau de Fontenay. We stayed in Le Jardin and last week in La Closerie. Both are very tastefully decorated and comfortable. We stayed during a previous visit to the Empire Bed&Breakfast room which was beautifully decorated giving it a real luxurious feel. Breakfast the next morning was a real treat. Nathalie and Philippe... More

Our four night stay at Le Chateau de Fontenay was the highlight of our two week vacation in France. The property was beautiful and our room was very comfortable. What made our trip so special was that we were welcomed and treated like family or friends, as opposed to hotel guests -- so warmly and graciously. On arriving Nathalie had... More

We spent two nights at this lovely Chateau hosted by the equally lovely Nathalie and wished we had spend a few more nights. It is located in an excellent location to explore the eastern Loire chateaus and towns. Our room- Cupidon- was more than large enough for our family of three and had great views out back to the Cher.... More
