We had booked this hotel after reading about it and Rochefort-en-Terre in "France" magazine. The village was supposed to be one of the best "Beaux Villages" in France. We were underwhelmed by the hotel and the village. The hotel owners were excellent as was their service in the restaurant. Our inclusive meal was good but not great. The room in... More

We spent 3 nights here. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the shower was excellent and the food , just out of this world. Jeanne and the staff were so attentive and couldn't do enough for us. Our bed was comfy and we were lucky enough to have had 2 windows which gave a through breeze on some very hot nights.... More

We booked over the phone for one night. We were on our honeymoon and thought we would treat ourselves to an expensive night but as it included the evening meal we thought it must be good..........we arrived and met with friendly staff but unfortunately when looking at the room we were so disappointed to find no frills, poor décor, dreary... We arrived at the hotel and found a note on the door stating they would not be open until 5 PM. Initially I was unhappy with that after traveling most of the day however, we decided to park the car and take a walk around the town. This is a town noted for its floral displays. Not matter where you... More

My wife and I stayed at Le Pelican in September 2013. Rooms are up one flight of stairs. Our's (#3) was in the front which we do not recommend due to light and noise from the street. The view was nice. The bed was low to the floor and while OK was not the most comfortable we've had during this... More

We have been visiting the restaurant at the Pelican for over 20 years. The current owner improved the standard beyond measure when he took over around 15 years ago (maybe more?) but this past three or four years the food has become alright but not outstanding. The service and the ambience continue to be brilliant but a restaurant is primarily... More

Rochefort-en-terre is considered one of the most beautiful villages in France and it not only met, but exceeded our expectations. Our 3 night stay at Le Pelican only added to this wonderful experience. Located in the heart of the village, the Hotel fits perfectly into the look and feel of this exquisite village. Our room was spacious and perfectly located.... More

My father & I can here to research our family history. We travelled from Canada and I booked this hotel. Absolutely no disappointment! Rooms were beautiful and the restaurant was the best we ever had. Didier and his hostess were the most welcoming people we ever met and made us feel like we were home. Would go back there in... The room was clean and spacious, the setting was very picturesque, in this ancient town in Brittany. But the highlight of the night's stay was the utterly gorgeous menus in the equally beautiful dining-room. The waitresses were very good and it all added up to an excellent stay.

There is one other fine restaurant in Rochefort en Terre that is more expensive but the food is a little too fancy for us. Le Pelican provides superb food at a reasonable price. We have previously stayed at the hotel and the room we had was excellent, overlooking the main street. Rochefort en Terre is a great place to visit... More
