Our SatNav took us to completely the wrong location but we were able to find the hotel about 10 minutes away. Apparently this is not unusual! This wonderful old building is on the end of the bridge and right by the river. It has been superbly renovated and is beautifully decorated throughout in a very tasteful mixture of old and... More

Just an overnight stop unfortunately for a wedding nearby wedding. we were a little worried beforehand because the outside temperature was going to be over 30 degrees and no air-corn, but the first floor room was facing the river and the sun didn't get round to do its worst, thank goodness, and with a nice breeze kept the room lovely... Stayed two nights in this beautiful location, situated metres from the river. Welcome and service very friendly and efficient, the house is beautifully positioned, spacious and neatly laid out. Rooms quite cosy all river facing and well ventilated as there is no air conditioning. Internet ok but you need to move around a bit. There is no restaurant and only... More

We loved this hotel. We had a room under the roof with views of both the river and the mill house. Quite charmed by the owners who were very helpful with planning and directions. Would definitely recommend this lovely property.

First off, Bourdeilles is my new favorite place in France. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this little town and Hostellerie Les Griffons is charm to the max! The hotel owners were a joyful presence; they went above and beyond to accommodate our family with our two young children. The breakfast was so perfectly French with fresh honey, jams, breads, pastries, and... More

This place is owned and operated by our favorite hoteliers in France, Jacque and Frederique Dauba. Beautiful, postcard like setting on the river. (we did actually have a calendar with it as the photo for one month) Rooms are large, bedding, linens and bathrooms all clean and materials of excellent quality. Great service in the dining room with opportunity to... More

Beautiful situation, peaceful hotel full of character and charm and welcoming, attentive hosts ready to share their knowledge of the region and its attractions. Enjoyed our breakfast at Les Griffons and also dinner at the restaurant recommended by Frederique and Jacques in the village (Dolce Vita.) We'll be back.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tucked 10 kilometers farther up a quiet valley from the larger town of Brantôme, Bourdeilles has an idyllic setting. In this old village crowned by two castles, the Hostellerie Les Griffons, a very charming inn, sits next to the river, her narrow brigde and her mill, and offers accomodation in a tranquil, picture-book setting. The restaurant is intimate and inviting, by the fire place and with windows opening up to the soothing sound of cascading water. Tables are set too on the lovely garden terrace on warm summer nights. This is the perfect place to enjoy the french touch cuisine combining tradition and Périgord specialities. ... more   less
