First, let me say my family and up to 6 other campers have stayed at DCRV Resort for many years and in the first few years we really looked forward to our camping trips there. As the years progressed, like many others have stated, the prices to camp there have significantly increased well beyond any other campground we camp at. In the last couple years people have stopped coming in our group and only 3 camped there last year. Yes, this campground is nice like everyone talks about but having a water park and charging higher prices for that is redundant as right across the road is Michigan Adventure with an actual water park which every kid can have a great time at and not be worried about breaking the simplest of rules. Now, I bought a new golf cart, a 6 seater, two years ago and bought that type as my parents who camp with us are in their 80’s and I’m able to take them along on the golf cart with my family and we can all take a ride together. Last year, I was told that I can no longer bring my golf cart as their rent their own now and their insurance company doesn’t allow them. When I asked the owner about this, I stared maybe they should get better insurance, and her rebuttal was they had the best insurance out there available to them. Hard to believe as I camp in many other campgrounds and none have an issue with you bringing your own golf cart, especially for one of your parents has a handicapped sticker on their vehicle who has a hard time getting around. We as a group decided last year, 2023, would be our last time camping at DCRV resort. It’s just not like it was when we first started camping there. To me and so many others as you can read, prices have gone up so much it just not worth it as the owners don’t care about camper comfort, they care more about out making money, plain and simple. An example, they used to charge $5 for visitors and seniors were free. Now, their reason being the water park, visitors are now charged $20 including seniors. Tell me, how many seniors are going to use the water park vs coming to visit and eating dinner with friends. Unbelievable, $20 each individual, a senior couple would be $40 just to come sit around a fire and eat dinner. It’s sad that we’ve been going there for so long but we’ll never return back there and I made it clear last year when I checked out. I’ll take my business to my favorite campground in Ludington who actually cater to you. If I want to take my daughter to Michigan Adventure it’s only a half hour drive from there and I can have multiple pools, hot tubs and take my golf cart to anywhere I choose. Sorry Duck Creek, you’ve done this to yourself and maybe someday your shortcomings will be an eye opener as other campgrounds I make reservations at are fully booked at this time of year but you still have plenty of openings, more open sights that booked sights. Ask yourself, why.

We have stayed at the RV Park numerous times over the last five years. The park is considered an RV resort with several new water features. Pros >Beautiful facility >Location is near Whitehall, MI that we like to visit along with Duck Lake State Park >Large paved spaces for the older part of the park (new sites are smaller) >Close to Lake Michigan >Activities for kids, including hay rides on Saturday >Full amenities >Rules that make the stay pleasant and consistent Cons >Park is on the expensive side and it feels like they are trying to nickel and dime campers for everything in the park >The park borders a Dog boarding facility and can be annoying at times >Car racing down the street on Saturday night is loud >Michigan's Adventure is across the street and it is difficult to turn in or out of the park during the opening and closing times for MI Adventure >Internet is poor when the park is full >Speed limits are not enforced as golf carts and kids electric scooters wiz by >Most concerning is the attitude of one of the owners and lack of professionalism displayed when there are disagreements between her and a camper Solid park with plenty of amenities and things to do if you can overlook some of the nuisances and the cost.

As the nightly rate climbs to Disney World level; customer service, cleanliness and family friendly atmosphere declines. There should never be a situation where people are subjected to being screamed at and threatened. Being yelled at for not wearing a wristband while I’m relaxing at my site is uncalled for. The owners and management have no empathy or regard for anyone except themselves. In addition, the bathrooms are dirty and empty of toilet paper to start the day. Things are always broken: pool heater, hot tubs, sprinklers, brand new water features in the waterpark, hammocks. The swimming pond is no longer maintained and has leaches. Children are out at all hours of the night messing with campsites that don’t belong to them. Once the office closes for the night, there is no security on-site. There are many fantastic family oriented campgrounds in the area that offer great activities for kids and adults that are complimentary with your stay. I truly believe that anyone spending this amount of money to camp here expects a certain level of hospitality. You won’t find anything like that at Duck Creek.

My family has been coming to this campground for years. This year was a different experience . The staff seemed disengaged with the campers. Outdoor pool was freezing no heater this year. The outdoor pool and slides close early daily. The lake was not taken care of this year. Our children tried to swim in the lake and it was gross and not maintained. The grill ran out of food ! Golf carts running at all hours of the night. Young children driving the rental golf carts. Lots of good amenities but poorly ran park! Make memories with your family at a different campground !

Could not recommend this campground enough. Typically, we have gone to visit Michigan Adventures however with the newly added amenities there is no need to go! This campground is extremely well run, and has always provided the best experience for us as a family. I have never been to a campground with better cleanliness, nice sites, caring staff and so many things to do. I cannot say enough great things about this place. Can’t wait to visit again next year!

This is our 9th season visiting Duck creek! This campground used to be our favorite! We have been coming for 9 years and over the last two years with all the new additions the owners have become money hungry !! Very over priced sites with little to no hospitality !!! The new additions have made them become so money hungry and out pricing themselves. They have hiked up the daily/weekly rate. And the cabins are almost $400 a night during peek season with a three night min. We come yearly with a group of friends with their campers and families! Unfortunately this year will be our last year visiting Duck Creek! The staff flys around on their golf carts at all hours of the night! The Halloween weekends were very empty this year! With no real Halloween activities! The seasonal campers were packing up and no one really decorated or passed out candy! The owners are rude to the campers and the seasonal campers all got kicked out this year with little to no warning! They kept 10 seasonal campers only! Spend your money elsewhere

This campground turned into crap when the owners bit off more than they could chew! Prices are through the roof. The campground and all amenities are overly crowded! Cleanliness has left the building, bath houses are poorly if even cleaned! Pools are always dirty, something is always broken, everything costs money! Lots of money! Owners are rude, harassing, and severely lacking hospitality and common courtesy. Halloween camping was a joke! Feel bad for the 10 families that paid a fortune for a bad time. I wouldn’t recommend this park to anyone. Stay away! It’s not what it’s advertised as! Not to mention there is zero to do outside of park. Muskegon is a crap hole.

Prior to their multi-million dollar additions, we loved Duck Creek. We’ve been camping there for years. We were seasonal campers for the past few years. Over the course of the past 3 years we’ve noticed a significant decline in the kindness and family-feel environment which initially drew us to this resort. The greedy management/owners, are more “business-minded” than treating their long-standing customers kindly and fairly. This year, as we waited eagerly to renew our seasonal site for next year, all but 10 families were told they are no longer offering seasonal sites. Their top 10 families (based on seniority) were able to stay. However, we recently learned that they allowed a few families to stay, who had only been first year seasonals. This is so disappointing. The owners waited until near the end of the season to shoo us all away. This has hurt many of us who have spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years to support their business. Not to mention, most campgrounds with seasonal options have a waiting list. We are all left hung out to dry and comments from management have severely lacked empathy, care, or concern. We’ve spoken to many other seasonal campers and all of them have expressed their disappointment with how we’ve all been treated for the past several months. We’ve also spoken to non-seasonal campers, and they all have stated how this place is turning into an over-priced money grab by the owners. I truly hope Duck Creek will return to its roots in the years to come. Until then, we will explore other family-centered resorts.

I would avoid this campground if you want good customer service. We visited the park in July 2023 and the lady came to our campsite and went ballistic about breaking a rule at the water park that had open the day before. Her customer service abilities are nonexistent. She was screaming about some rule that was broken and was so poor at her job that we really don’t even know what we did that was so wrong. She threaten to kick us out and made our whole family on edge, which was not a very relaxing camping experience. From my best abilities I think that she was upset because my daughters son who is almost 16 wasn’t in the water park with a parent. She would have gone a lot further had she come to the campsite and explained this calmly, and with respect to the people who are giving her large amounts of money to camp in the park. The water park had just open the day before, and not all of the rules were well known. As a matter of fact, going down one of the slides, I was told not to wear sunglasses, which meant I had to climb all the way back down the stairs and take care of them. When we came in September, sunglasses, were absolutely fine to go down the slide. However, now the rules have changed that two adults couldn’t go down a double tube. It’s pretty rich when the owners are screaming at the customers to follow rules that are constantly changing. We returned for Labor Day, camping, and immediately upon checking in she had written several notes in our file about how horrible we had been last time for breaking the parental rule. She began to lay into my daughter and her family threatening to kick us out if one thing went wrong during our camping stay. Again our whole family was on edge the entire Labor Day weekend, and was not very relaxed. My complaint is not with the campground as it is beautiful, but my complaint is with the way you are treated while staying. She and other management ride high in their golf carts at a very high rate of speed around the park all day long. I passed her many times while walking and had to jump out of the way. Never once does she smile, wave, or act friendly. Apparently she’s not very happy with running the campground or maybe she’s just generally a ornery person in life. Either way she needs to either learn how to do customer service and work with people or find a new career.

Ok, so we have been frequent flyers here for several years. Let me first off say that this park is immaculate and gorgeous. The new water park is icing on the cake. That being said, we’ve noticed over the course of the last few years with all the improvements and add ons that things have become progressively more expensive. We’re ok with it being a bit more expensive and a little higher end. Previously, I left a glowing review butI have since deleted it because I feel like they have vastly come short of what I had posted and I no longer stand by it. This year alone, we have stayed multiple times for long weekends. Anyone who camps knows that your weekends are family important so we come up with sites like trip advisor to help us get a feel for where we spend the little family free time we get. I had read the negative reviews and kind of brushed them off. “Nickel and dime” people to death. This past weekend started off like it normally did while staying there. An easy check in, personal direction to your site, the amenities that come along with this resort. Moving past that and I’m going to provide little details so we don’t take retaliation for this post. That is where we are now. We feel like they may retaliate and is camping really worth that? No, it should give you pause over such a resort. Suffice to say that what started as our older parents (70’s to 80’s) have always been able to visit for free, they started to charge. First, it was $5 bucks a person to sit around a campfire and have family time. This past year it went to $10 dollars . You know what? Something we would tolerate bc we always have a good time. This past month it became $20 A PERSON. I could 100% support this if the family was coming up to go to the water park. They weren’t and this was conveyed. We just wanted a family dinner and to sit around a campfire. So, $80 dollars for 4 people to show up at 430-5pm to have dinner and leave by 10pm. Ok, not happy, but paid. However, the office decided they hadn’t interjected enough and complained we had 9 people (paid for) vs 8 which is their current rule. The rules have changed 3 times this camping season alone . We understand that the water park throws a wrench into their operations but there were conversations had with management that were rude and upsetting. We are rule followers and usually appreciate a good set of rules. If you don’t care that they change rules every month and find ways to charge you for every cent, then this is the park for you. The idea that we hesitate to post this bc of the way they seem to be vindictive may be enough to avoid this place. In reading some of the bad reviews, I will have to agree with those posters. We no longer recommend this resort.
