Yes the wifi can be dicey...Yes the tv was hard to manipulate...Yes the complimentary donuts the next morning were, well, limited in choice...Yes the coffee was vaguely coffee..Yes the Concierge, Matron, whatever her title, yeah she can be a little MIA at times...and YES the room was clean, and damn affordable for a post Labor Day journey up the West... It was not fancy and it not in the greatest part of town, but our room was very clean, smoke-free, pet-friendly, air-conditioned, and relatively inexpensive. We had easy access to the expressway and could quickly get to beaches and brew pubs. We had a comfortable stay.

I'm not sure "vintage" is the right word for a 1973 motel but it's got the right flavor. The place was extremely clean and well maintained. The owner is friendly and caring. It was a weekend in the height of fishing season so, even though the price seemed just a tad high to me, I know it wasn't.

I was a bit worried choosing a motel to stay in but pure Michigan recommended it and there were no other places available for the Michigan Irish Music Festival that were in nice areas. That being said walking into the room it was nice and clean. It had everything we needed as a place to stay other than wifi. When... More

My buddies and I came to Muskegon to take our motorcycles across Lake Michigan on the ferry. Joan put us up for the night. It was a fair price. The room was clean and neat. We were in unit 18. It had two queen beds in the front room and a queen bed in the back room. She made coffee... More

We enjoy staying at small motels and the Belaire was very nice. It brought you back in time...vintage bathroom tile and toilet paper dispenser. It had cabinets with storage space and a shelf so you had a place to put your toiletries and makeup while you were getting ready. The carpet in the main area had been updated and looked... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Belaire. Joan is very friendly and attends to your needs. We stayed there for five nights. Will probably stay there again. Liked the fire ring in the back yard. Dutch bakery nearby.

Nicest mom and pop motel that we have stayed at in several years. Very clean, excellent location, very good value for the dollar. Joan is a sweetheart you will love her. She makes fresh coffee every morning, has donuts available, gives directions, etc. If we return to west central MI this is our motel of choice.

The Bel-aire is awesome! After a very disturbing stay at a hotel in Muskegon Heights, we sought refuge with Joan at the Bel-aire Motel. Joan and her staff were awesomely accommodating and friendly! The room was clean, neat and comfortable. No worries here of the room and bedding not being clean. The rooms were spotless! The beds comfortable and the... More

This is the best kept secret in Muskegon! Stayed there for a week. The place is spotless with great linens, including big fluffy towels. Joan, the owner, is friendly & attentive & so is her staff....the housekeepers will wash & fold your laundry for $5. There's WiFi & coffee & rolls in the AM. You just can't beat this place!
