Great View, Centrally Located
NUMBER OF ROOMS
The building and atmosphere has a cool old fashion style. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The downfall was that the rooms had a deodorizer in the carpets that is so strong it kicked off a bad allergic reaction. The hallways then have air fresheners that spray every so often. If you have any sensitivity with migraines and asthma to strong scents just beware. The solution turned out to be a handicap accessible room - where they do not use those doederizing chemicles.
Beautiful hotel! Nice clean room, upgraded to a King room overlooking Lake Michigan. Comfortable bed. Staff was very friendly! Only negative is the only ice machine was down on first floor, otherwise everything was great! Would definitely stay there again!
I would definitely stay here again, even if just for the view! We had a lakefront, corner room on the 8th floor, with windows on all sides, one a balcony, a large tub and a fireplace. The tub is to the right as you walk in, small kitchenette, table and fireplace mid-room, facing the bathroom door. Awkward layout. Bed was very comfortable! The people at the front desk were very friendly. Traditional - think antiques and brocade - a little dark, but well-maintained. Breakfast was basic and just a little expensive for what was offered at $9/person. Cereal, yogurt, pastries, fruit, scrambled eggs and bacon. They cheerfully allowed us to do a generous, late check out which we appreciated! (But it was a slow time and a Sunday night in early December so that might have been a factor.)…
We spent 2 nights here while traveling in the area. We were pleasantly surprised to have our room upgraded. We had a beautiful view of Muskegon Lake from the 10th floor. The room was large and comfortable with a separate sitting area, a Keurig, fridge and microwave. Another unexpected perk was the lounge off the lobby where we enjoyed local draft beer. There is food available at the lounge that looked really good although we didn't eat there. We didn't try the daily breakfast but it seemed like a good value. The nearby restaurant (a very short walk along the marina) had excellent food. We had a delicious dinner with excellent service and a great view of the lake. The restaurant was busy so go early or make a reservation. We went around 4pm and had no problem getting seated but it was full by the time we left. Both of our meals (planked whitefish and a trout special) were spectacular. The property is very well maintained. The staff is terrific. The room was comfortable and a great value. We were happy to "discover" this gem and will definitely stay here again.…
Two day planning conference. Group of 15 in the lower conference room near the pool. Room itself was fine. Dinner reservations were list for the Lake House, forcing us to go offsite. Breakfast was later being delivered the next morning, as were the boxes lunches. Both those meals were bland and unremarkable. Probably never go back.
