This hotel has a FANTASTIC lake view if yourr room is on the lakeside-we put in a request for one and we were stoked when we got one. Staff were very nice there for our whole stay. We were on the 9th floor facing the lake and overlooking the marina and got one of the updated corner suites. The decor and space were really nice. No tub but we were able to make the shower work for our family’s needs. TVs were on the smaller end and I was a little disappointed with the lack of drawers. There was just an empty bookshelf under the TV that I used to put our clothes so that it was easy to get to for myself and child. Kitchenette had a counter with a sink, fridge, microwave and coffee pot. We brought our own breakfast but it is available for an additional cost and there is a connected restaurant. Another pro is it is easily in walkable distance to downtown which we took of advantage of to check out the local restaurants and coffee shop. All in all this is a hotel I would stay at again. The decor in the lobby could use some updates but I know they are working on updating the rooms at the moment.

Front desk was friendly and easy check in. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Rates were reasonable for top floor penthouse. VIEWS WERE AMAZING! Marina, lake and city lights from this corner room. Only down side was no breakfast offered besides some pre-made warm up sandwiches. But that was ok. Plenty of amazing breakfast options in town are available.

After a hellish week my wife and I needed the healing of Lake Michigan, so we booked this hotel at the last minute for our second stay there. We got a 10th floor suite, room 1005. The suite was spacious with plenty of room to spread out and relax. The room was also scrupulously clean, and the bed was a perfect balance of cushy and firm. And either we didn't have any neighbors or the walls here are plenty thick; there was absolutely no noise from neighbors during our stay. And the views are absolutely magnificent, of Muskegon Lake and the marina next door. I have only a few minor quibbles. This hotel opened in 2002, and it looks as though the decor hasn't been touched since. So everything is still mauve and gold, and it's beginning to look really dated. The furniture and wall coverings are also getting pretty long in the tooth. The doorknobs on the bedroom could be pulled right out of the doors, and there was a bad patch job on the wallpaper in the bathroom. Also, why the dinky 32 inch TVs? Even two star hotels have bigger ones now. And we were bummed that the hot tub was "down for maintenance." On the bright side, the little cafe off the lobby makes a great sandwich if you want a quick meal without leaving the premises. Since this is the only real waterfront hotel within a pretty big radius, we'll probably be back.

You are paying for the view, if you are lucky to have a room facing the marina, which is very beautiful! Customer service was nice, although they made us aware upon check in, that they do not accept cash, as a form of payment. The hotel and at least the room we stayed in, is extremely dated. Our room had a beautiful view, which was an upgraded charge, but our bathroom sink clogged, every time we brushed our teeth. The bathtub and shower were extremely dated, old, and moldy in spots. There was a scent of boys pee in our carpet, right outside of our bathroom, iykyk, that was overwhelming. At one point the entire lobby smelled like sewage, and one of the hot tubs did not work. The bar had amazing drinks, but we did not try any of the food on the dinner menu. Breakfast wasn't able to be ordered hot, due to an oven breaking. However, the blueberry muffin I purchased was good. The restaurant that is located behind the hotel is great to sit at and watch the sunset, and the food and drinks we had were wonderful. However, with all things considered, especially the condition of the rooms, we would not book a trip to that hotel again, unless it were fully remodeled.

My room (408) was clean if not just a tad dated but it worked fine for my needs and I slept well. Staff at the reception and the bar as well as housekeeping were all very friendly and helpful. I didn’t pay for my stay (attended a conference/work paid) so I don’t know what it cost but it’s walkable to downtown as well as the harbor - I’d stay here again & recommended it to others.

Custom service at this resort waterfront hotel was terrible. In the summertime don’t plan on using the pool or amenities before check-in (4pm). The manager provided a very rude email post after our stay when addressing the issue. If you are vacation you can find other hotels in the area who enjoy better customer service. @choicehotels we were very disappointed.

Multiple staff watched me, a mother, push a large heavy cart up to my room with a baby on my hip while holding my toddler's hand. No help was offered. I called 4 times to make sure I had a pack and play in my room and even confirmed at check-in, and when I got to my room there wasn't one. I had to request it again. Then when they finally brought me the pack and play, they didn't bring a sheet, and when I requested one the very underdressed staff said we don't have those. He said he could bring me a normal sheet but that's a suffocation hazard. I had to go all the way downstairs and complain and come to find out they actually had 2. The staff was too lazy to even find out. I could have overlooked the unkept dated hotel if the service had been on par but it wasn't. The price for this hotel is exceptionally overpriced. I wouldn't stay again for half that price. Not only that but breakfast was supposed to be included and they said they can't do it because of COVID. I just got back from other hotels and they all delivered food to my room. They should have at least offered a discount since they advertised breakfast was included and it wasn't. False advertisement. The bathroom soaps and amenities offered at this hotel were cheap and didn't match the price charged.

Bad: * no ceiling fans in room * A/C didn’t work because air intake was completely clogged with dust and dirt (See pic) * We found 2 large bottles of hard liquor in the freezer. Not good for a room with kids… cleaning staff must not have checked the fridge. * Poor lighting in the room. * Greeted by front desk staff “What’s up?” * On-site restaurant is closed * Parking lot is pitch dark around the edges of the property. * Security guard on constant smoke break right outside the entrance. * Mold around the ceiling light outside the bathroom
I can not recommend this hotel.

I cannot believe that this is the #1 rated hotel in Muskegon. It felt like it hadn't been updated in 40 years. The elevator and our room had an unpleasant smell and the room felt very old. The vanity/shower in the bathroom were items you might pick up at a garage sale if you want to remodel on a budget. There was even a burn stain on the vanity top. The price we paid was comparable to a 4-5 star hotel but with a 2 star feel. The hotel was on the water, but not as nice as the photo shows. The whole place gave a creepy vibe.

Nice hotel and clean, spacious rooms. Housekeeping was limited (which we've stopped using anyway since the pandemic). We were told you could request it but had to give 24 hr notice. There was only 1 garbage can in the room, definately needed another. Other than that, everything was great. They will be updating the hotel this year, though we thought it was fine. Loved the drawers in the bathroom vanity. There wasn't any breakfast on site. We ate at the bar the first night. It was fine. We ate at the restaurant the 2nd night. It was very good. We had the Whitefish and Ceasar Salad. Also had dessert.
