We stayed for 4 nights in a pristine & stylishly decorated room. We had a suite, & the living room area had a ceiling hung swing chair, which was fun & relaxing. The bedlinen & furnishings were all good quality & very comfortable. Air conditioning was super! The owner and her partner work really hard all the time at keeping the place serene & beautiful. There is great attention to little details, that make this place a joy to be in. The outdoor spaces are simply gorgeous! The garden courtyard setting is within old ruins, with a fantastic mature fig tree. You eat breakfast here, self-served from an indoor buffet spread, with freshly cooked eggs to order. One outdoor room leads to another, including a lounge bar area. You should definitely eat dinner here one night, even if you're not a hotel guest. It's very romantic & charming, & the food was excellent. There's a mini-bar in the room, so you can chill your own drinks from the supermarket around the corner, & enjoy them on one of the lovely patio areas. Ask for beach towels, & swim at any of the access points to the water around the town - you'll pass by them, & think they're someone's private slipway, but they're all public. One tip - buy a fold up mattress cushion at a local shop. About €10 each, & will make lying on stones / concrete bearable. Also make sure you have swim shoes!! Lots of sea urchins! The owner of San Giorgio & her partner are always on hand, & with their great staff, they were really helpful & knowledgeable, very good-humoured & cheerful. You couldn't pick a better place to stay on Vis. Also ask the hotel to arrange a taxi to /from ferry if you don't want to walk the 20 mins. There's a special rate of 110 kn if booked through the hotel. (Otherwise it's about 130kn)…
We have stayed at San Giorgio for 2 weeks and it was a magnificent time. It is like in the romantic movie when right from the whole cozy terrace you can see masts of yachts parked in the marine. You can go swimming early in the morning when Vis is sleeping and it is just a 2 minute walk. Tasty breakfast with freshly baked cheese and apple cakes, smiling owner making tasty omelets for breakfast and serving delicious exquisite dinners in Boccadoro restaurant. I would recommend this for anyone planning a romantic vacation, where you can enjoy summer and an island with amazing quiet beaches, wineries and restaurants.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at hotel San Giorgio. The staff were excellent, and our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a particular highlight; Ivo is a master at scrambling eggs! We were made to feel incredibly welcome and hope to return. Liz and Charlie x
Absolutely loved Hotel San Giorgio! We stayed in the stone house villa with stairs leadinginto the restaurant courtyard. There are two rooms in the villa - one on the top floor under the eaves and the other on the elevated main floor. The upper room does have steep stairs leading to it so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Not a concern for us but the stairs are very steep. We were three adults travelling together so we booked two rooms to give ourselves more space. Loved having our two rooms together in the villa. The air conditioning was excellent in both rooms and was needed on warmer nights but most of the time opening the window to let in the sea breeze was wonderful. Outside the villa there is a terrace overlooking the courtyard - perfect place to read and daydream. Dinner at the restaurant was outstanding. Breakfast was great as well. WiFi can be weak at times but not a big deal for us. Wonderful service and friendly staff. My next trip will be planned around when I can stay here again.…
My family and I were greeted by the owners on our arrival and given a warm welcome. The rooms were spacious and had a great upscale vibe considering the have been retrofitted into old buildings. There was a great breakfast spread with local foods. The adjacent restaurant had amazing service and cuisine. The owners were able to provide us with a number of recommendations for beaches and things to do. There were complimentary bicycles to take around town. We all felt very welcome and plan on going back. Thanks for an amazing experience!
My husband and I stayed here during our visit to Vis in room 1 with the balcony. The balcony had a very beautiful view, and we enjoyed this a lot during our stay. We also enjoyed the bikes the hotel had available for guests and felt this was a nice touch. The room itself was comfortable, but there were no outlets other than the ones in use so we had to unplug things in order to charge our devices. There was no shower in our room, but a large jacuzzi style bath. The tub was quite difficult to get in and out. The tub took a very long time to fill-around 45 mins for a comfortable level of water-and unfortunately the hot water came and went so we ended up with a lukewarm bath each time. My husband actually used the tea kettle in the room to help warm the bath one evening. We were welcomed very warmly by the owner and staff, however I felt uncomfortable interacting with them on some occasions. For example, I was offered a complimentary second glass of wine during dinner by the owner of the hotel, which was a nice gesture, but I politely declined for personal reason. I was met with much opposition, and we went back and forth about 7-8 times as he continued to offer me wine and I continued to say “no thank you” “no please” “I said no”. He even looked at my husband as if he could give him permission, and my husband said “she said no.” He then brought our waitress over and she said the owner would like me to bring you another glass of wine which I again politely declined. This interaction was extremely uncomfortable and ruined my dinner experience at the hotel. This among other interactions felt over the top and unnecessary. There were definitely nice things about our stay as mentioned. We still thoroughly enjoyed our experience on Vis. It is a beautiful island, and we’d recommend the island itself to anyone.…
It is a really nice small hotel with a restaurant and a beutiful romantic garden, where you can eat, drink or just relax. It is located in the old city center near the sea. Staff is very kind. Food is delicious and nicely served. Rooms are clean and comftrable. We had an amazing time.
The best service and food. Beautiful and romantic ambient. Owners are friendly and very helpfull with planing the day activities. Room are beautiful and regularly cleand :) We felt special and welcomed. We will definitely come back.
We absolutely loved everything about this hotel! We stayed for 5 nights and were so sorry to leave the island and the hotel. It’s a gorgeous property in the most serene and elegant part of Vis surrounded with excellent amenities. The beaches nearby are incredible and you can reach the two main ones easily with a bike that you can take from the hotel. The breakfast was fabulous and we had dinner there one night, which was also delicious. The service is fantastic, and rooms are both stylish and well equipped. Overall, there’s really nothing else you need from a hotel and it’s the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a relaxing and recharging holiday on a beautiful island in Croatia. We wish we’d stayed longer!
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The owners treated us like family. Rooms are very modern with great air conditioning. Clean and very comfortable. The terrace and dining areas are stunning. Highly recommend and will be back soon. Thanks for the best hospitality.
