We had such a great week with Craig and Xania and our new Welsh friends (the other family who stayed at the same time as us). With our 12 year old daughter and our 13 year old son, we loved having structure to our week. Xania led one day of kayaking and Craig did another but with the addition of SUPs. Vis is so beautiful to see from the water. Waking up and doing yoga by the sea (with a wonderful swim afterwards) was a great way to start the day. The healthy and tasty vegan food was a hit even for the non veg members of the family. We did a bike ride to the nearest town, Komiza, which, while tiring for me, was a hit for the rest of the group. It was a great way to see the island. Craig and Xania really know how to make people feel welcome and comfortable. All activities are optional but it is more fun to partake. The air conditioning was a great luxury after too much sun. We would definitely return.

What a thoroughly enjoyable active week with this delightful family - including Dora the dog, and two lovely mother-in-laws as well as our hosts, Xania and Craig. We were just six for this holiday. Three came together and three were solo travellers. We blended immediately. We quickly knew each other through activity experiences or sitting with the others in double kayaks. Activities were not arduous even for the not too fit. Generally short session but some full days too and very varied. Why go on an activity week and miss out! Yoga to start the day at 7.30am - but everything is optional - after a pleasant walk to the very edge of the Adriatic laying our mats out on a wide, level, limestone platform that would not disgrace a smart, modern kitchen, and set beneath a rock wall forming like an amphitheater. Inspiring situation. The accommodation including bedrooms was highly suitable for what we did, and who wants to be inside anyway when the weather always seems to be wonderful, the views amazing and even in spare time activity equipment could be used for extra curricular enjoyments. Eating outside, and of course with our hosts, altogether through the encroaching twilight and lit by solar lighting. The advertised activities showed us numerous island locations, and what a marvellous island is Vis is. After the crossing from Split on the 11 o’clock ferry, I was quite emotional as the we entered Vis town and the harbour. Slowly the boat turned and being on the port side the very close up view of the town gradually opened up as the boat slowed and turned preparing to dock. A sedate and inspiring introduction to a place that does not disappoint in any way. What a scene. It was a beautiful, clear day and the limestone, Croatian buildings, promenades, red roofs, yachts and boats of all sorts, the clarity of the sky and crystal clear water combines in a cinematic panorama created quite an impression setting the tone for the week to come. However, a week with WeArActive is not just that. There is I believe an underlying philosophy. It threads its way through everything but is no where in anyway intrusive. To me it seems to be about balance in life. Asking questions of oneself. Living healthily through exercise, play, work but most importantly with what we put into our bodies - exercise, food, sharing, giving to our fellows. Investing in our own future by balance in life and doing things together. But there is always and often the chance to swim in amazing situations. This philosophy beautifully comes together here through eating together and sharing absolutely outstanding, immaculately prepared and presented vegetarian food. Local products and very local wine. Xania clearly loves producing her meals which are so full of flavours, so lovely to eat and endlessly varied. It seems that each one is a new variation so will be unique to that day depending on what is available. Fun and humour shared. Brilliant week Zania and Craig and also your ‘breakfast man’ Ben, - but who also took us kayaking. I could go on but I need to leave something for you to discover. This is not a high powered week so don’t fear as your hosts are more than capable and safe in accommodating to all. If you think that you will like it, how wouldn’t, then do it and get booked in now. There can be few places or hosts so genuine as these. A brilliant combination of Welsh and Yorkshire. 😀

We had an awesome family holiday with Craig and Xania on Vis. Just a great mix of exercise and people to restore some balance. Our kids loved the activities and we found the whole experience very rewarding. Highly recommend this for families with kids who enjoy being active. We (couple plus 16 year old son) had a week which contained exactly the right amount of activity in the form of kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, snorkelling, cycling, yoga and slacklining, perfectly balanced with copious amounts of snoozing, reading, chatting to our fellow guests, eating amazing food and discovering a new part of the world. We left feeling refreshed, regenerated and slightly sad to be leaving it all behind.

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful week on Vis staying with Craig and Xania. It is hard to pick out a particular highlight as the whole stay was fantastic. It was active but never more than we wanted. We expected great weather, wonderful scenery and oodles of croatian charm and were not disappointed. We did not expect to fall in love with the place quite as much as we did. There is something raw and casually refreshing about Croatia. Vis is an absolute gem of an island and our week with Craig and Xania showed it off spectacularly. We were always kept well informed as to the daily plan whether that was kayaking, trekking, cycling or yoga. All the activities were well planned and executed. The final day paddle-boarding and kayaking around the cliffs was splendid and breath-taking. The food was perhaps the real surprise package as we had read the glowing reviews but did not expect such quality. Thanks Xania. We hope to be back as soon as possible. Following our stay, we feel that we now possess a key to help unlock this island gem in the Adriatic. Our thanks to Craig and Xania. I have no doubt that Austria would be equally wonderful and we aspire to check this out in the future.
