We stayed 2 nights in early October. Room was as expected. Basic motel room -- clean with fridge and coffeemaker. Beds and towels were perfectly fine. Loved using the balcony with 2 chairs with gorgeous view. We also used tables set out on lawn near water. Appreciated the free bag of ice. Didn't realize there would be a free continental breakfast so that was a nice surprise, especially because it was a good one. Convenient location to town & Pictured Rocks. We safely rode our bikes into town. All the employees we encountered were helpful and friendly. (Just a bonus to a great experience: my husband left AirPods under the bed and they found them and mailed them back to us). Would definitely recommend.
We stayed at The Beach Inn Motel on Monday, September 26, 2021. We experienced some concerns with our room. I showed pictures to the desk clerk when I checked out and sent a letter to their web address too. No one responded to my letter. 1. I tried to turn up the air conditioner / heater and found the control was broken. The temperature unit was not able to be adjusted. 2. I then tried to take a warm shower. The fiberglass tub finish is flaking off! The drain stopper was a rubber stop plug! 3. The shower control valve is not functioning properly. It is loose and will not rotate to get a warm shower. I was only able to get a lukewarm shower. My morning shower went from lukewarm to cold then back to lukewarm. 4. The drywall repair behind the bathroom door is not finished properly. It was first coated and never sanded and finished coated then painted over. 5. The bed pillows are worn out. Even with two they did not give the proper neck support. 6. The beds. Both mattresses are worn out! I could feel the springs while laying on it. My wife had to take Tylenol the next morning for pain relief. So much for a restful night's sleep! This was the most expensive motel we stayed in on our Upper Peninsula trip. With that being said, the motel had the worst accommodations. It is not worth the view of Grand Island Harbor Bay to stay here.…
The location of this property on Munising Bay is the primary draw. The rooms, however, are fair to poor despite the high prices. The owner has apparently invested zero profits in improving the accommodations. There is barely room to walk around in the room, no closet space, only 3 clothes hooks on the wall, a grungy bathroom with stained and deteriorating bath mats, and an insufficient supply of hot water, and only one source of light in the room. . Only bath soap was provided (no shampoo or lotion) and that was about 1/8 inch thick and crumbled while the packaging was removed. The TP and facial tissue were like newspaper. The hair dryer was not even mounted on the wall. It hung over the towel rack. There was no ice maker on the property. Bagged ice was provided outside the lobby in a cooler chest with no utensil to scoop it. I guess people just used their hands to take what they needed. Were it not for the view this property would be a one out of five points. Message to owner: reinvest some of the profits in upgrading these very basic rooms. Consumers : Look elsewhere if you expect the price to reflect the quality of the accommodations. At over $200.00 a night these rooms were a rip off!…
Good size room & clean, also close to town. There were chairs right outside our room so you could sit and enjoy the view of the water. They also had a great back yard/sitting area with chairs if you wanted to be closer to the water. Breakfast was included and had a variety of choices.
We were very pleasantly surprised by how nice the room was. We loved the balcony and the lovely view of the lake. All of the staff were extremely nice and helpful. It looks like the rooms have been recently updated. If the bathrooms had been included in that my review would have been a 5. There is nothing really wrong with them, it was just not as nice as everything else. One travel tip...bring an extension cord. Not a lot of outlets by the bed for cell phones/laptops/etc. We will definitely stay here again.
