Stayed at the Buckhorn for a week and felt very comfortable. The service was great, if you had a question or problem all you had to do is call. Rooms cleaned and taken care of daily. Microwave and refrigerator, I brought along stuff to refrigerate so that was good. Enjoyed the experience! I would give them a FIVE star review... More

My husband and I were traveling through the UP to sightsee. We chose 1 night at the Buckhorn. There was an issue with our reservation but they went above and beyond to make it right! The place was clean and the restaurant was great! Would stay again!

A beautiful night. We arrived at the Buckhorn about 7 only to find all the tables taken. We consulted with the owner who said it would be about 45 minutes for a table near the window. Disappointed we settled in at the bar which also has a view. Next thing we knew the owner came over and said that a... More

We rented Lodge 1 for 3 nights. Positives- Good location Reasonably priced Friendly service. Large place ( lodge 1) and can easily accommodate large groups. Negatives Very old , rustic look. The place needs some updating.Old furniture. the upper section of the lodge looked shaky- When walking on the upper floor there are places you feel like you are going... More

We chose the Buckhorn Resort while on a family vacation to the UP. The room was comfortable but we especially loved the bar and restaurant. What great food and the bartender/owner was awesome! The Buckhorn Burger was to die for! We would recommend this place over and over! Go Packers!

Lovely setting above Hovey Lake, friendly service by owners, variety of food choices with fair prices. All that we have sampled has been good. Attached bar for those wishing beer with lunch or dinner. Have not stayed in the motel or lodge.

You are in the middle of the woods. I guess if you were on a 4 wheeler or a snowmobile you would love this place. But we were just driving thru and needed a place to stay. No Air Conditioners! The room did have a fan. Breakfast is very continental served in the restaurant. Expensive for what you got!

The location of Buckhorn Resort is simply stunning; nestled in the Hiawatha National Forest and within minutes of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Woods, wildlife and nature’s beauty abound. Oh, and did we mention it is set on the shore of Lake Hovey? Seriously amazing views, peaceful setting and delightful owners that are focused on customer satisfaction. The motel rooms... More

The positives: The Buckhorn is located in the national forest in deep woods on Hovey Lake about ten miles outside of Munising. It's a beautiful area; it's quiet and very rustic. There is a restaurant/tavern on the property. The negatives: I was charged $89 for a room that is sorely in need of updating. It had an odor of unwashed bodies,... More
