Detailed Reviews
this motel is old school but very clean and up to date. Wonderful internet connection and perfect for our needs. The room was well sound proof and the heater/air conditioner was quiet and efficient. Our host was friendly and gave us great advice on where to eat in the area. We cannot wait to go again.

We stayed at Alger Falls Motel when we visited the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore during Labor Day weekend. The room was nice, the beds were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also clean. The location was great for us because we were within minutes of Munising and we drove to Taquamenon Falls (1-1/2 hours east) and also drove to Kitch-Iti-Kipi Springs (almost an hour south). Price was great as well.

Having binge watched The Daniel and Eugene Levy series “S” Creek during the lockdown, we made a point of staying in a motel on our recent journey. We were NOT disappointed! The Alger Falls Motel was clean, comfortable, friendly and well located for our trip. The towels were the fluffiest I have ever had in a motel! Deliteful stay!

+1
For a motel I have lower expectations. I have stayed at a a few and they are what they are. However, this one was smelly. It felt dirty. The toilet seat looked like it was spray painted. They had a sheet and a thin comforter that you know they didn’t wash. Pillows with no cases. There’s also something about a exposed box spring that is gross. The mirror was gross like nobody washes it. Also there is a sign that says please dont use towels to clean cars, snowmobiles or luggage. So when you use a towel you feel nasty.
The lady seemed nice but for $128 a night it’s crazy. If it was $45-$65 I would just leave it alone. I also came back a hour later because I forgot something and the hotel was back in order, little too fast for a actual cleaning. So idk. Just weird.

Book this place for a snowmobile trip Friday through Monday. First of all the remote for the TV would not work and the manager told us that all the tv remotes had problems while telling us her Ambien was kicking in. Water pressure in the bathroom sink was so strong that water would splash around everywhere. Ice machine was broken in the lobby. We were charged 12% tax 6% sales tax 6% tourist tax. Someone had wrecked into my snowmobile require us to leave Sunday instead of Monday and the manager said we could not be reimburse as they have a 48 hour policy. She did inform me that if they could get our room rented that they would only be able to credit me back partially. I will never come back here. The room had a dingy smell to it that i didn't care for as well.

Our family likes to support "mom & pop" type establishments. This was a cozy place! It is very convenient right on the highway, and it's so convenient walking 2 steps from my car to the motel room door to unload my luggage. We were very happy here! Nice and clean, too!

Motel was quiet and clean. The staff was very friendly. We stayed there while snowmobiling. Trail is right across the road and plenty of places to eat/shop right up the road! They even provided a heated garage so we could go over the sleds before going out on the trails. Excellent Place!

We stayed here for one night while visiting Pictured Rocks. This is a true motel, with single-story buildings spread out along the parking lot and a door into each room from that lot. This made it pretty convenient for loading and unloading luggage in our car.
The staff here were very friendly, and we appreciated their helpfulness. The room itself was fine. The bed was okay, a little hard, and the Wifi in our building was broken when we stayed (we had to walk over to another building to tap into that Wifi). No breakfast is available onsite (although I believe they did have coffee), so we had to find breakfast elsewhere.
Overall for the price, this was a fine value for somewhere near Pictured Rocks.

My husband and I spent one night here before heading home after our stay in the Upper Peninsula. This is not a fancy hotel, but it had everything we needed at a reasonable price. The room was very clean and comfortable with a refrigerator and a microwave. The manager was very helpful when I had difficulties getting my credit card to go through, even letting me use her cell phone to call my credit card company. We had already gone on the Pictured Rocks Lakeshore tour before we arrived and she suggested a couple other waterfalls we should visit, as well as the best place to see the sunset. This was just the right place for us!

This place was a gem. Management (especially Stephanie) were very accommodating and sweet. They let us grill in the parking lot. Answered the phone promptly. Cheaper than other places. Great location really close to town. Rooms were bigger and nicer than I expected. Beds were big and comfy. TVs were easy to use. AC was effective. The worst coffee I've ever had.
