Once a 70s resort, Trinco Blu by Cinnamon was transformed to a retro-chic design decorated with bleached wooden decks, cut cement floors, rattan furniture and denim trimmings with a splash of orange to contrast the Blue and White hues.

A very good hotel, I would say 4 star next to the beach. The staff were lovely and professional. Excellent food on offer and two very good bars. A very comfortable pool area with plenty of loungers and towels provided. Rooms of good standard with good en-suite facilities. A very

We had a great time. Pubudu and his team and captains deck really went out of their way to cater to us. We are vegetarians and Pubudu went to great lengths to ensure we had a variety of dishes. May many thanks. Will return in April.

Another great hotel base to tour from. We saw so much. Staff were great and very helpful. Local amenities were reasonably good. Food was good but buffet style was beginning to grate a touch. The crab restaurant was a lovely experience. We also visited a local independent

Nice room, helpful staff, choice of food. We were a little late at the buffet and a number of dishes were finished but had good mullet and the pasta dish seemed tasty. A quiet beach with sunlougers but not good for swimming in the sea at this time of year. July is calmer on the

Staci : We went through Ceylon Roots travels and our Driver was not only given accommodation they were also provided meals at Trinco Blu. At most of the other hotels in Sri Lanka they certainly provide a place for the Driver to bunk down and some of them provide free meals. Infact, I discussed this with our driver/s and he stated that he has been driving around Ceylon for years and most Hotels kindly provide both (Dinner/Bed or Breakfast/Bed) as a courtesy for bringing guests to their hotel. Having said that, we as the tourist/traveler, should always provide the Driver with coffee, tea or drinks during long trips as well. We also provided our Driver with a sandwich or pastry for lunch when we took off to a restaurant. Try P&S (Perera & Sons - costs pennies for us!!) which is like a MacDee's for washroom and snack stops. Our Driver's were very appreciative of us not just looking after ourselves but offering him snacks or sweets or drinks whilst he drove long distances. They went the extra mile to show us places of interest as well as advised us of potential pitfalls when making purchases or trying exotic fare. A regular Driver would not do so if he was not taken care of or appreciated. We had 3 different drivers / vehicles (Toured for 1 month) and all of them said the same thing - this is not a one off! Treat them with respect and kindness and they will bend backwards to make sure you are happy in your travels!! Hope this helps.

Hi, Thank you very much for the detailed post. Your review and a few past reviews have helped me to plan my trip better. My family and I (6 adults and our 9 months old baby) are travelling to trincomalee for 3nights as a part of our family vacation. The cigarette smoke in the room alarmed me of the serious issues there can be in the ventilation / ac systems especially with having an infant with us. The other reason being I having a number of previous comments on cats, dogs and crows in the dining area/ restaurant raises serious concerns about hygiene and the level of attentiveness of the hotel management. ( This unhygenic environment can make some one ill and even cause serious health) I cant thank you enough for this review and I have clearly made up my mind on NOT TO STAY at this hotel. (the content on the reviews are stressing me already, imagine what it will be to face the scenario with a 9 month old baby) I think the hotel management is just copy pasting a general response and have not taken adequate time and effort to personally address the concerns raised in the feedback. The cats, dogs and the crows in the restaurant has been posted over a long period of times by multiple number of guests. This shows how badly this property is managed. Im affiliated with the presidents office and I will assure the relevant government authorities visit the premises and provide a detailed report. I will publish it on TripAdvisor for perusal of the future users. Thank you soo much and thank you all for the valuable feedback and TripAdvisor for having a platform that protects travelers from such situations. Many Thanks
Hi, I was there with my 7 month old baby. There were two cats in the restaurant, but I had no issue with them.

Yes you can certainly snorkel at the beach. There is not a LOT to see there but the water is calm enough to be able to swim around and see some fish. Have a great trip!!
