Travelling alone, stayed here for 3 nights. Overall a great stay; great staff, good room, lovely pool, plenty of places to sit and easy place to relax.
Welcoming, friendly, polite and efficient staff. Well designed good sized room, with nice furnishings and space. First floor rooms have balconies with good furniture while ground floor rooms have a terrace with a few steps directly on to the lawn. All rooms face the sea (although mine had a giant palm tree which blocked the view).
The pool, hammocks and plentiful seating area around the pool and beach are what it’s all about and creates an easy, relaxed environment where you can laze between beach and pool, restaurant and bar, all day. It’s worth taking a wander down the beach and having food or a drink at Fernando’s, or up the street there are also lots of good food places. The restauranteurs are really friendly and say hi; no one hassling for business, although they’d welcome it and ply you with good food and warm hospitality.
Housekeeping staff do a very good job of replenishing water bottles etc., cleaning room, turning down the beds in the evening etc. Laundry was a quick turnaround (in by 10am, back by 6pm) and delivered folded and nicely wrapped up. The pool attendants also do a great job. Restaurant, reception, luggage, spa and security staff all do an excellent job.

We stayed one night at Trinco Blu by Cinnamon. Thanks to Lakpura Solutions (lakpura.com) for booking the hotel rooms for family of 4 adults. We paid USD 210 for 2 rooms( Superior Double ) per night on Half Board basis ( Inclusive of all taxes & service charges ) Ideal Location for beach lovers and relaxing people. Rooms are clean and food is very good with different options. Highly recommend for family with children.

Execellent service. Everything safe for Covid 19 - easy to recommend.
Meals are strictly regulated to prevent spread, buffet everyone wears face masks and is served behind screen. You can have no complaints on that score.
Out of the restaurant everything feels more normal which is nice.

It's our second time in this hotel. First time was 2019 before the Covid mess and we fell in love with this place, so we were very looking forward to be able to get back to it. As the first time, we had a wonderful time. Besides the perfect location with a great pool and the direct access to a beautiful, private beach, we have to say that what makes this place exceptional is definitely the service and the staff. The hotel direction can be proud of their employees and should treat them as warmful as they treat the guests. They are all very genuine, thoughtful and the nicest persons. Starting with reminding our drink and food preferences from the first day on, also our table preference at the breakfast and longchair preference at the pool and the beach. At the restaurant, a very special mention to the waiter team we had the pleasure to see every day and who do such a great job in making us feel more than welcome. Thank you to : Siva, Viman, Suseevan, Gayani, Jana, Sameef, Freddy and Jayanthan but also to the wonderful cooks who made sure we have very tasteful waffles, pancakes, eggs, happe, so many many thanks to Sanchu and Menake. And of course all the others in the back kitchen we didn't have the luck to meet. The guys looking after the pool are also a gem and always making sure we are feeling good and not missing anything. Big big thank you to Bandare, Ashely and Muralitharan. The housekeeping team who took care of our room was also exceptional and paid a very precise attention to details. At the front desk we had the pleasure to meet Paul, the front office Manager who welcomed us very warmly and helped us out and also the guest services manager Iresha who is such a nice and genuine person looking after the well being of the guests. The entire staff shows how it should be in hospitality and many places and persons working in this area could learn from them. We will come back for sure and it will probably become our every year vacation. So, without any doubts we absolutely recommend this place. Again, thank you very much for this entire week, our first real vacation since 2019, we couldn't wish for better.

We were a very large group staying over at Trinco Blu, and I must say the stay was better than I'd thought it would. Right from check in, luggage transfer it was a fabulous experience made special by the staff. The hotel is not super large or super small , it is the correct size with the right amount of spacing. We had the newer beach chalets and they were awesome, steps away from the beach and waking up to beautiful views in the morning. The pool is a good size and is closely monitored. The beach is beautiful, cleanes and safe to walk a few meters in to sea, the sand is soft white.
There is lots of greenery and landscaped lawns to escape the heat of Trinco. We were there on.1/2 board and had the dinner and breakfast on 2 days. A special mention to the ever smiling and ever helpful staff, considering we had many small children and they were happy to cater to their needs even with items off menu. Special mention to Jayaseelan/Jayabalan not sure of exact name and the hopper live station lady. We also had a small get together and the hotel accomodated our requests without any additional charges. Again Kudos to the team. We will definetly go again if ever in Trinco. Last there was some previous reviews about dogs. Yes there is some stray dogs in the property largely near the lawns or the beach. They don't come near the pools or the restaurants. The hotel has put a net around to stop this. The dogs don't disturb or bark at the guests atleast in our experience.

Excellent hotel. We were in the beach chalet and we had our own beach chair under the coconut tree next to beach, it was really relaxing. The buffet dinner and breakfast was amazing, so many variety of food and there is a band playing dinner time. Ravi one of the bellboy was excellent, he introduced himself when he brought us to our chalet, he was really good explaining where everything was in the hotel. Room was very clean, compare to other hotel it is a bit expensive but we did not regret at all. The pool boy was really good as well, he make sure everyone do the right thing before going in the pool. Next time we will come again in this hotel. Deserve to be 5 star. Well done

I actually been here in 2019 April and for the second time visited on the 4th of February 2021 both with my family, fortunately by then no COVID and they had so many excursions which includes Dolphin and whale watching, scuba diving and some other boat rides around the coastal sea! This time we really missed those adventures!
However let me start with the room last time we stayed in a superior room which was all cozy and up to standards, this time for a change tried one of their beach chalets. The room was situated by the beach the 1st floor in a 2 storey building. The room was so spacious when compared to their superior rooms and the washroom was spacious too, we had a cool shower area where we had a shower which was open to the sky! View from the room was directed to the sea accompanying with coconut trees and you can’t say no to the pure sound of ocean with the breeze which can heal you in and out with the first touch!
but the furnitures looked outdated and the corridors and balcony was dusty, which may be due to the salty air from the sea. The washroom commode was stuck and couldn’t manage flushing and my mom wanted a room change, the management gracefully accepted our request and arranged our room change within an hour!
As they told me they don’t have a gym and unfortunately their pool was closed for some unavoidable reasons when we were there! Sadly couldn’t get a dip in that huge pool! Also last time when I was there they had a huge lobby area directly opened to their pool facing the sea, this time again unfortunately they were undergoing construction works and the lobby was separated from the pool, I missed the old view from the lobby! By then they used to have peacocks visiting their wide open lobby area, which was so cool!
Food was great we had all varieties including Srilankan style and international cuisine, where I just expected little more varieties in seafoods like lobsters, oysters, mussels and could have added some jumbo prawns! But they had crabs and fish at all breakfast lunch and dinner! Also I didn’t see lamb on the menu!
Last but not the least they have countless hammocks everywhere around the sea area in between coconut trees where you can relax at anytime of the day! Me and my mom had a chat session on their hammocks until 11pm which was so nice! At the beach,underneath coconut trees, swinging on hammock and counting stars at late night was the best experience I have ever had and a must to have!
Overall my stay was great and keep the good work going Trinco Blu by cinnamon! 👍🏽

I had a one day stay in suite room with my wife at Trinco blu by cinnamon on 10th September 2022.We came here all the way from Colombo. Since the check-in we had so many disappointing incidents. We have come to check in at 1 .30pm on 10th Sep 2022 and we had to wait more than one hour to check in. As they said previous customer had checked out at 12pm and they are still cleaning . This has happened to so many people coming here not only me . Some people have come early but they got the room after 3pm. At the reception area is like out side the airport. So many luggages . Bellboys are working so slowly . I had to wait more than one hour to get my bags in to our room. We have called to the reception twice but the bags didn’t came up. Then we have to go by our self and carry the luggages then only they saw and apologized and took the bags to our room . Until that bellboys we’re chilling here and there . After we came to the room , room looks nice but the A/C is not working . We called and complain that and electrician came and fixed it . The only person came on time was the electrician here. After that when we came to get a shower there were no bathroom slippers . When we called and asked for the slippers they said they will bring but we had to call three times and then only they said it’s out of stock and it will take sometime to get down them . But until the checkout we never got that slippers . On top of that we went to the pool to have a swim . Pool manager no where near the pool . Even dogs and crows are drinking from the pool( the photo is attached below ). Finally after I had a swim I asked for a extra towel and pool manager said they only give two towels per person . I seriously doubt this Trinco blue cinnamon hotel is a five star hotel. I have been to so many five star hotels But we have never experienced such a disappointing experience And finally we went for the dinner, they had a big buffet but the food taste average and the water we drank was tasting brackish . I have paid for this room for half-board basis Rs.40000 and this service is even not worth Rs 10000. In the next day morning the from officers are not even there at 7 am and in the restaurant even the plates are not well cleaned . When I show them that plates are not well cleaned they just changed the plates with next table and they didn’t even take it inside to clean it . Who even going to sit in that next table will face the same situation . This is not a five star service . It’s not even worth Two Stars. I seriously doubt how they treat foreigners if they treating locals in this manner .

The hotel is beautiful, calm and serene. We booked a four-room beach chalet with a spectacular view of sea front with easy access to the beach. Rooms were very clean, has everything you need, very spacious and beautifully appointed. Hygiene is at its best, everything was spotless and sanitized, and it felt very covid-safe.
From the minute we arrived at the hotel we were in awe of the outstanding service and the attention we received by the front office team. Every staff member we encountered, from the valet to the check- in to the cleaning staff were very friendly, delightful, professional and eager to help!
Overall experience of our stay was just perfect. As for the food & drinks… there is only one word to describe it ‘simply WOW’. The fabulous buffet on the New Year’s Eve was an extra ordinary show by executive chef & team.
I’d like to say a huge thank you to GM Priyantha Jayasooriya , F&B Manager Dean and his amazing hospitality team, pool bar staff who continued to serve my daughter her favorite ice crushed lime & soda with a friendly smile and Gamini Dissnayaka our wonderful naturalist for being so welcoming and taking care of us during our stay.
All your big smiles and genuine manner is straight from your hearts and you all couldn’t have done more for us! I can safely say we cannot wait to comeback! Highly recommended.

I would say about five hours, or a bit more allowing for a stop or two possibly at Dambulla, using the short stretch of the Central Highway before Kurunegala is helpful.
