This is a one if a kind hotel. The building is a beautiful traditional house with unique rooms. The hotel is professionally and tastefully run by a family that help with whatever you need. Attention to detail including ceramic pots for soap and copper jug for water in stead of plastic bottles. They also have a traditional wood carver working... More

This is a very magical, beautiful and special place to stay...we loved every aspect of it! Its a place from one of those interior magazines...very detalie made sence and the room we had, the one facing the square, was like a dream. I always wondered what it was like to sit by one of those windows....and now I know; its... More

A two week stay at the guesthouse was without exaggeration one of my most memorable life experiences. The city, the square, the guesthouse all date to the 14th century and today still provide abundant, authentic glimpses into medieval life. Awakening to the sounds of temple bells, crowds of women making morning offerings, maneuvering around the goats living on the square,... More

We stayed here for one night for my birthday as a retreat from Dhulikhel and it was nearly perfect. The room was lovely, the breakfast was great and the family who run the business were very friendly. Unfortunately our shower was cold as we were in a room without an individual boiler and so it relies on the solar which... More

Dear Paula, Namaste and Thank you very much for taking out to share your experience staying with us. Yes, we are really sorry about the cold shower. Some of our lower rooms are indeed powered by solar panels and it just happened that the day was raining heavily and not much of a sun was out. But we also forgot... More

My wife and I recently enjoyed a two week holiday in Nepal. We spent two nights in Kathmandu, then one night in Nagarkot before we walked down in to the village of Sankhu. We then spent two nights in Bhaktapur before a long taxi ride down to Chitwan National Park. We spent seven nights there chilling out and enjoying the... More

Dear Guest, Namaste and thank you very much for the feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed the simplicity of the guest house. The Guest house building is a heritage building dating to the 14-15th century. We have only done the interiors of the room and nothing much else. Hence we are glad that you enjoyed the place and the... More

We decided to go to Peacock Guest House based on the great reviews. We were not disappointed.... We had the choice of two rooms in this beautifully restored building, both were unique and we chose the one with the four circular hatch windows which was just perfect for sitting on the cushions and people watching onto the square below us.The... Dear Sir/Madam, Namaste and thank you for taking time out for sharing your experience staying with us. The room that you had was the Deluxe room with the traditional newari windows on both side of the room. It has the best view overlooking the main Dattretraya Square though it can be a bit noisy in the morning and early evening.... More

I stayed here for 2 nights in May and I didn't and I didn't want to leave and wish I had more time in Nepal to spend here. By far the best hotel I've stayed in. The environment is vintage and atmospheric, making it a joy to just relax in. The rooms are exactly as you would hope, filled with skilled carvings and characteristic Newar features like the windows - which have a great view on to the most captivating part of Bhaktapur, if you pay for the... Dear Guest, Namaste and thank you for feedback . It was really wonderful to have you stay with us. We are at the oldest square in Dattraya square on the eastern gate.
