We decided last minute to do a yoga & meditation retreat and found Niru homestay! We saw all the good reviews and all of them are true. This was a great experience, so relaxing and heart warming. We were greeted with genuine love and felt home right away. The yoga classes are professional and the hikes are amazing with views over bridges, waterfalls and temples.
Their smile and love makes us smiling and feeling charged after the retreat!
Thanks a lot Rajan, Niru, Teresa and the family!
Sem and Danique :)

Niru Yoga Homestay surpassed my expectations and then some. As we arrived we were greeted by "Welcome Home" by Rajan, Niru and their entire family. They make you feel so welcome right from the get go! The property in clean, well maintained and Niru's organic vegetarian cooking is out of this world! Some of my favourite memories from the trip is sitting around the table, eating great food and laughing our heads off. Yoga with Rajan every day is amazing and he and his brother Dinesh are also awesome tour guides. They took us to see the sun rise over the Himalayas, swimming in a jungle waterfall and through many Napali villages in the foothills of the mountains. It is a trip I will never forget and I can't wait to go back!

I will cherish my visit to the Homestay always. I met and travelled with a group. The food (and tea) was super healthy and delicious, our hosts Niru, Rajan, Dinesh and friends kept us very busy with yoga twice a day and a hike that included some story telling and history of various temples and more. Each meal started with a song that would lift everyone’s spirit, I slept like a baby every night and it was hard to leave when my time there was up. Till we meet again I hope. Namaste lovelies.

Niru Homestay - simply a Paradise on Earth!!!
I have spent the best one week of my life with the Bastola family. The moment you enter their place you become part of the family. They are so loving and caring and literally do everything possible to make you feel at home.
The house is surrounded by huge organic farm and beautiful garden so all meals are 100% organic and vegetarian and absolutely delicious! Niru is the best Chef and she will never let you feel hungry, You will have to learn how to say No, because she is constantly refilling your plate.
Rajan is the most professional and knowledgeable modern yogi I had the pleasure to practice with. The groups are small so he can help everyone achieve perfect results. I am very new in Yoga and on the 3rd day I succeeded to do Headstand. I am so proud of myself and thankful to him for the help, the motivation and the inspiration!
And the every day hikes in the beautiful nature were so fullfilling. You will learn all about the history of Nepal, the incredible legends for the different Kings and Gods, the sad and the fun stories.
If you ever have the chance to visit Nepal, don't ever doubt the place you'll stay in. I vote with two hands for Niru Homestay - the most loving and wonderful family you will ever have the chance to meet.
I love them to bits and can't wait to be back!

Stayed here for a week after trekking in the Himalayas and it was great. Hatha yoga twice a day, hiking after breakfast and great food from the garden. Nice room with lots of light, shower and balcony. The family are very knowledgeable about yoga, taking care of the environment and local customs. I got to know the grandparents, siblings and children living in the two houses and was made to feel like part of the family. The home was erected after the earthquake in 2017. Will definitely go back!

We had planned on staying in Nepal at Niru's Yoga Home Stay for one week and then travelling to Rishikesh for the second week. Due to the Coronavirus the border in India was closed to tourists and we had to extend our stay for a second week in Nepal. Rajan, Niru, and the entire family not only accommodated but made us feel loved for staying longer. Turned out to be a blessing and couldn't be happier about the experience.
Every day we started with Niru's tea, Neti, and morning Yoga . Rajan is an amazing teacher and has the ability to push you into deeper postures in a safe, and controlled way. We then ate breakfast all cooked with Niru's love. So yum. We then would hike for a couple of hours in the mountains exploring local treasures, views, people, and temples. We would then come back for a crazy good lunch again all food Vegan/Vegetarian and grown locally on their farm. Next, we would Zen out for a while then "Tea Time!" followed by another amazing yoga or meditation session. Then more food for dinner. I have never eaten so well on vacation yet lost 10 pounds.
Niru's Yoga Homestay will change you and your idea of travel forever. So much Joy, Love, and Positive energy. I can't say enough about the experience.

I stayed with the family over the Christmas period and had a lovely experience. The family were very welcoming and really opened up their home to me. I was travelling solo and from the moment I arrived, I felt very part of the house.
The yoga is really great and I feel like I enhanced my practice whilst there. I also adored Niru's cooking - probably the highlight for me was the lovely treks we took with Dinesh. He has so much local knowledge and the treks are always an adventure.
One comment I have on Nepal in general is that it is very cold in December - I came from Sydney so it was a shock to the system. Once I let the family know, they bought heaters and this helped, but you should definitively bring warm clothes if visiting at this time of year.
I enjoyed my 4 days here, made a lovely friend in a fellow traveler and learnt lots about Nepal!

🇳🇵 YOGA RETREAT, Nepal 🧘♀️
If you’re interested in yoga retreat, I can strongly recommend Niru Yoga Homestay in Nepal, close to Kathmandu. I just spent there one week and it was just awesome!
The whole family is amazing and they really make you feel like home. Everyday morning and evening yoga classes (with different breathing techniques and meditation), hiking, delicious 😍 vegetarian food and many other attraction, like sauna and movie evenings. And the price is really good!
You can really feel that every person in this place is doing everything to make you feel good. Cannot wait to go there again!
Namaste 🙏

We stopped in a variety of places in our 3 weeks in Nepal and I can confirm the hospitality, the yoga (we did it elsewhere as well), the local food (which we ate almost every night elsewhere as well) and informative guided walks in the beautiful hills and valley were the best we experienced. I learned so much about the local rural way of life - fascinating. If I had stayed longer my yoga practice would have improved too, the teacher was top class, the real deal. Do try them out for as long as you can spare. It made a great start to our holiday helping us to settle into the Nepalese way of life, recover from jet lag and get our bodies used to the food, the climate and the altitude. The only downside was that it was very cold in winter when we visited - so take lots of layers and a sleeping bag if possible - most if not all Nepalese guest houses have no heat and are open to the very fresh night air. It is far colder than you imagine from the weather forecast. This applies here and everywhere else we stayed. Or go in the busier seasons and be warmer ..

Twice daily yoga practice combined with daily walks in the beautiful countryside, in a friendly family atmosphere. Rooms are comfy, fairly basic so bring warm clothes for chilly nights. The atmosphere is one of warmth and kindness, Rajan teaches a traditional Hatha yoga practice combining breathwork and meditation with asanas while Niru serves delicious veggie food with a smile and a song. It’s a short taxi ride to the incredible Heritage town of Bhaktapur, don’t miss the King Curd, it lives up to the hype.
This family lost nearly everything in the 2015 earthquake and they’ve rebuilt something very special, they deserve to do well.
