I spent 1 night and it was fine, but not great. Staff spoke some english, but not what i'd consider fluent. My room was clean & quiet, but wasn't all that comfortable. The AC unit remote was only in japanese, and i never figured out how to get it cool the room. The wifi worked ok from the main building, but was nearly unusable in my room (slow and frequently stopped working for minutes at a time). The hot water in the bathroom required setting a cryptic thermostat in advance. Beds were asia hard, plus rice pillows which was not a great experience. The only great aspect was the food. Both breakfast & dinner were excellent, with a variety of traditional foods.

We spent one night here on Taketomi. The accommodations are clean and very spacious, which is a novelty in Japan. We had made our own dinner plans, but they provided us with a traditional breakfast platter which was a LOT of food! They do have bikes for rent to use. The island is not that big so it's easy to traverse and see everything in a day. If it's raining, they have umbrellas to use, and the one thing we forgot to do was get a flashlight for our walk back after dinner. We had difficulty figuring out how to use the Air conditioning unit, but eventually managed to figure out an option that didn't overheat or freeze us! If you're going to overnight on Taketomi-jima, this is a great, if slightly pricey option.

Good clean rooms provide for a comfortable stay on taketomi, although some of the room's air conditioners may need some servicing (abit musky). Upon arrival at taketomi, a staff with a Japanese sign will wait for you so do take note of the logo (reddish) to spot your pick up if you do not speak Japanese. Upon arrival we are quickly checked in and we got our requested adjoining rooms. When we found that our room at the corner had poor Wi-Fi reception, the staff were able to arrange another room for us with better reception. The English command of language isn't so good so prepare some translators! Location wise it's abit off the main village (7min walk) but they provide bicycle (power assisted or manual) rentals from.300 yen per hour. It was raining and they provided umbrellas for use. Just be sure to borrow a torchlight from the reception if you're out for a stroll at night! It was raining when we there, but they have a high powered telescope at the reception which they will probably bring out on a clear sky!

Very clean, peaceful and excellent place to stay on Taketomi island. Each room is provided with a washing machine/dryer, fridge and microwave as well as a dvd, tv and music player. So convenient. Bed linen is clean, toilets and bathroom in great working order. The hotel is well maintained. Good walking distance to the island's attractions and shop /restaurants. highly recommended.

We booked to stay there for one night, and was picked up from the port. The young man who helped us with the check-in was very kind in reminding us of the sunset time and so arranged us to have dinner after viewing the sunset. We rented bicycles from the hotel for going to Kondoi Beach for swimming, the Nishi Pier for viewing sunset, and sightseeing around the island. Though the hotel is not of luxury hotel standard, I was very fond of the simple decoration of the room, its warm colour theme, wood flooring, etc. There is a hot water switch right outside the bathroom that you need to switch on if you want hot water for your bath or shower. And it was also clearly explained to us by the check-in staff. Dinner and breakfast were of adequate portion and tasted really good. The staff were all kind and friendly.
