Hoshinosuna is a beach with the sand corn shaped like star. This strange phenomenon is visible in some of the Yaeyama beaches, but Hoshi-no-suna has even the name on it (it means "sand of stars" i Japanese). The pension is just on the beach, which is also quite nice for snorkelling if you get it in the high tide (the difference in spring is nearly 2 meters, look a the tide tables on the web!). So, fantastic view, fantastic sunsets, fantastic souvenir shop placed in the restaurant building. Wifi only there, unfortunately. No service of cleaning if you are there for 3 nights (but you can get new towels). Very nice people there! Think that my friend forgot the cell phone charger in the room and she got it back the same day in another hotel in another island (we were already back in Ishigaki). So, quite amazing!

I spent 1 night here. The room was quiet, clean & comfortable. AC worked well. My only complaint is that the wifi only works in the front desk + restaurant, so its a small hike from the guest rooms to use it. The 800Y breakfast isn't anything special (rice, toast, egg, miso soup).

Thanks so much for the statf’spatience, kindness and caring during my 2-day 1-night stay. They picked me up from another accommodation where I cannot get so much help, helping me out by calling your providers, fining English-speaking guide, safety reminder, baggage storage before official check-in time. I enjoyed the snorkelling in the Star Sand beach where in low tide, you can see all coral reefs. When it’s in high tide, you can still swim and do snorkeling alongside with colourful fishes! I felt so warm during my stay. To return is surely on my future to-do list. Thanks for everything! Hope I can see you all nice ladies again!

Super friendly staff who picked me up(and dropped me off) at the harbor and helped me arrange all the tours that I wanted to book! One of the staff members could even speak English! One of the best(vegetarian friendly) breakfasts (with amazing view on the beach/sea) I had so far in Japan which is nice considering the physical activities I had planned! My room was very clean and spacious and had a great view. The stunning Hoshinosuna beach was just a minute walking away from my room and you could rent snorkels and flippers at the desk! Highly recommended!
