Graskop is home to Sheri’s Lodge & Backpackers, it is a small forestry town on the edge of the escarpment. Originally owned and run by the late Rod Sheridan, who was once voted Australia’s most ‘eccentric’ tour guide. We invite you to come spend a night (or even a week) at our little piece of Africa. Sheri’s has 10 rondavels and offers a variety of accommodation options, from Backpackers dorms to the more private self-catering units. Whether you are looking for a quiet getaway or a group tour, we have something for you. We welcome both local and international travellers. After a long day of sightseeing (and there is plenty to see), come home to Sheri’s and put your feet up. Tea and coffee is also on hand for those chilly days. Connect with friends and family via our FREE Wifi and plan your activities for the next day with the help of our friendly staff. Enjoy a braai and a game of pool or a dip in our bite size swimming pool, catch your favorite team in action on TV (Dstv) or cook up a storm. We have someone available 24/7 to help you, credit card facilities, secure onsite parking and clean sheets! Sheri’s is located near the centre of town and is within easy walking distance to all local amenities. There are a variety of ‘Things to Do’ in the surrounding areas – from breath taking views to the adrenaline pumping ‘Big Swing’. Graskop is often referred to as the gateway to the Panorama Route – just a short drive away is God’s Window, Wonder View, the Pinnacle, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and Three Rondavels, not to mention the spectacular waterfalls.

Very friendly and helpful staff, from beginning to end. The room was nice and the communal room was very cool. I booked the backpackers dorm and had it all to myself! I would recommend it for people coming to this area.

Sheri’s is an extremely good value for money friendly open place to stay with traditional thatched rondavels around a central thatched lapa. Great sense of international community with an outdoor undercover cooking area which I loved, everyone talks to everyone regardless of

Public transport in and around Graskop is minimal. If you are booked with us, we would be able to collect you from Forever Blyde Canyon (for a small fee to cover petrol costs). Please arrange this when you make your booking to ensure that we are available. There are some hikes from Graskop, however the sightseeing (viewpoints) are further out of town (6-50km) and one would need a car to visit them. That being said, most are along the way from Blyde Canyon where you would be picked up so we could stop along the way. The hikes also provide some awesome sights (and there is also a horse rides available just down the road from us that have some great views of town and the escarpment).
