Spent two nights over the weekend here. The pan was filled, which was amazing to see with all the greens but it got really cold because it rained all night and all morning 🥶 the food was great but the menu was very limited. You could only choose between two meals. And a generator was used so lights (and hot water) went off from 10pm to 5am and again from 11am to 5pm. The pool was empty so one couldn’t swim. Overall, it’s a beautiful place

Our visit to the eastern part of Etosha was met with some scepticism as we would not see any game. We saw lions, cheetahs, elephants, white rhino, etc. The location of this lodge, the views and the amazing staff makes it a bucket list place to visit when the pan starts to fill up. Tents were comfortable and well appointed. Food and service great and the viewing deck for sundowners simply anazing!

It's difficult to judge a place that has the most incredible views and perfect setting... yet falls short of acceptable in pretty much all other aspects. The rooms need to be renovated and they were full of lizards. (By this I mean about a dozen, including big ones). I know that given where you are, you can't really complain about this - however, on this occasion it was a bit much. If they would fix the windows and doors so that everything would close properly, I am sure things could be different. The pool is great with awesome views but it was a bit tricky to find anything; from loungers to towels, to someone providing drinks service. The food was very mediocre but edible. In hindsight, this was not the worst we had in Etosha. (That was in fact Okaukuejo.) Service was... trying. We liked that fact that this is a small camp and it is located in an extremely beautiful part of the park. Great for Oryx too! We've stayed in a number of publicly managed camps in South Africa and Namibia and this was one of the more neglected ones. A real shame!

The drive here is stunning but it would be worthwhile if your reservation advised when could be your latest arrival time at the park as it is a long drive with a speed limit to adhere too. We just made it! The pan was bone dry when we went which is very different to the portrayal on the website. We were expecting more wildlife around the camp itself and it was mainly birds. You also pay to an offshore account which is worth noting. The evening menu was just fine with a choice of meats available. The lunch menu was limited as there are so few guests that stay at this camp. We had a choice of pork chop of cheese sandwich with sides as there were so few guests. Breakfast wasn’t great for options and unfortunately one of the days (we stayed two nights) the breakfast was undercooked. The rooms could be lovely but are all very, very tired looking. The ceiling fan didn’t work in the room and when the electrics shorted it meant we had no fan in the room as the electric one stopped working. The baths are for aesthetic purposes only and they do not leave plugs in the room because of the water shortage. We had an outdoor shower but unfortunately there was an open drain meters away so it was pretty smelly out there. The game drivers are all super knowledgeable and I really enjoyed the trips. It was sad that we couldn’t wait to leave the camp and booked the trips to be away from the base. There is limited space to relax outside of the room. The pool is small but is in direct sunlight during the day which means it is insanely hot and j wouldn’t advise using it in the middle of the day. The bar area is where the staff also seem to relax on the their break which meant that football was on the TV and everyone was having a cider or beer. Fine in itself or if the space was bigger but it didn’t feel like we could really relax there. We went to the Dolomite camp next and it is such a stark difference that I could have wept. If we had ended with Onkoshi camp I would have left after one night.

From the second we entered Onkoshi Camp we were welcomed by a very helpful staff person named Helvi. This a very unique property. Driving in we passed lots of giraffes and almost got surrounded by elephants. There is not much wildlife - right by the chalets. Helvi made sure we had everything we needed. The chalets are very comfortable. The food was very good. A wonderful experience and our favorite of all the camps in Etosha. Thank you Helvi and the rest of the staff for a wonderful stay.
