Contacted location to reserve Chalet for a family reunion and was willing to pay the entire fee of $50/hour. Representative informed me that the office was closed on Monday, 6/27/2022 (even though someone answered the phone). I left my contact information and was told that the office would open Thursday, 6/30/2022 and that I would receive a return call. No call was received. I contacted the office on Friday, 7/1/2022 only to be told that the Chalet was unavailable. I question the lack of urgency and concern due to the fact that racial bias is still prevalent.
Wish I had seen the below post regarding the mattresses before we went this past weekend. I would have canceled My daughter, her husband and two kids 4 and 2 arrived to the resort cabin after a drive from Ohio to find they would be sleeping on plywood. A dirty cabin with a concrete floor and nothing to sleep on. Needless to say they went to a hotel. When talking to the staff they played a great game of pass the buck and we have still not received a call from Scott which was supposedly who the buck stopped with. They were rude and insinuated we were lying about the cleanliness but there was no way to lie about nothing to sleep on. An employee showed us where they had marked it on a brochure but there was no mention about the mattresses being removed on the paperwork I signed. I didn’t realize it was necessary to look at every page of the website. They took the time to say no pets on the contract. You’d think they’d let you know there was no place to sleep. I will be posting a poor review everywhere I can find a place to put it and disputing the charges for the misrepresented unused cabin on my credit card.…
We're from Illinois and were visiting relatives in Michigan so needed a campsite for a week. We initially were going to skip over Camp Dearborn because of the negative reviews that we read. But our cousin in Michigan recommended it so we thought we'd give it a shot--and we are glad we did! We did not find any of the negative features that other complained about. We were in a full hookup pet friendly area, everything worked--water, electricity, sewer, grass was mowed and sites were clean. It was uncrowded until the weekend when it began to fill up. We did not notice any after hours noise or even any barking dogs! If we need a campsite again in this area, we will be back in Camp Dearborn.
This used to be great...now with new owner it’s really bad...I believe that they recruit people to work here that were fired from the DMV for giving bad customer service. The staff is horrible, they go out of their way to make sure that your stay starts off with a confrontation. Rules are rules and thats cool..but checking in they go out of their way to make as difficult as possible. I used to recommend this place to friends, now I recommend it to enemies. To stay here now is to know what hell is..don’t bother trying to call, they don’t answer. They don’t bother updating anything and they spend their time finding out how to make you as miserable as possible. If I could have given this a negative number I would have given them one. Just a pit from hell from a customer service stand point. The worst staff this side of hell.…
I visit my children and grandchildren and all of their friends. They stay there for a week. It is clean and the fishing is fun. I do catch and release. They wake up in the morning to the chicken dance to exercise and stretch(optional but fun). The they swim in the lake or pool. I barbeque for the clan. The park was in sorely need of repair and cleaning for quite a while, but it is much better. They are having some difficulty with the zip line. Too many people want to use it. It is not a reason to berate the park. I visit the Camp often to fish and have fun, even when the campers are not there.
I tried to make zip lining reservations about 2 weeks ago. Was told I didn't have to for the afternoon session. When I kind of insisted that I wanted to the lady straight out told me no, there was no need. Get there today and we were turned away because we needed a reservation.....
Visited my daughters's seasonal campsite. It was unkept, not groomed with grasses a foot long around children's playground area. The play area had dog feces on the slides and human tolietry items scattered about. A lot of the RV's are run down and in horrible condition. Hope you don't get a campsite next to an empty lot as the grass could be 3 feet tall! Spoke with manager who stated he was aware of the problems in the seasonal area but felt his hands were tied by the City of Dearborn Council. City of Dearborn, shame on you...Management continues to take new customer monies despite the slum like conditions!
Our campsite had not been mowed in what seems weeks. Grass was almost a foot high. They never came by to mow. Other campers used fire ring as a trash can and littered sites. Dumpsters overflowing. Police presence which caused concern. Management doesn’t seem to care. Just not a nice campground at all. We stayed in a 40 foot fifth wheel.
Site 50 is a corner site, level, semi shaded, with electric, picnic table and fire ring provided. We placed our tent behind the concrete pad then parked on the pad. The sites are spaced out nicely. Across the roadway from site 50 is the bathroom/shower house. The facility its self was clean. However, there were issues. First, upon entering the facility a large access hole was hanging open and definitely noticeable. You could see up into the rafters and crawl space. Second, one of the vents above the shower stall was falling out. Thirdly, the water is very hard, giving off an overwhelmingly strong sulfa oder. It was so strong we decide to brush our teeth using bottled water. Finally, the shower stalls are stained yellow from the hard water, very small, have one hook, a small seat, and the curtains barely blocked anything. Water pressure was okay with warm water at best. The facility also has outdoor dishwashing stations. Each having warm and cold water. You do not find that often. Despite the bathroom/shower house issues, this was a nice campground for a two night stay.…
Beautiful surroundings, great staff... Always have a great stay for a week here every spring. Lots of activities in the summer, a couple of lakes, a swimming pool and lots of other stuff go online and check out camp Dearborn.
