Everything at my son’s wedding went very well at the H hotel. Beautiful venue, very classy, food excellent, staff professional. There was a problem with reservation for breakfast at Zinc Cafe. Tables not ready so several sat at bar and they did get food quickly. Rest had to wait long time. Food was very good. Not sure what happened…I should note that food and service for rehearsal dinner was excellent. I would rate the visit excellent if not for problem at Zinc Cafe.
The Hotel H is beautiful! I was born & raised in Midland (60s & 70s) and remember Sears, Woolworths, Kresge's, JC Penny's and the Consumer Value Store (before it became CVS) dominating Main Street. The downtown area culture has completely changed: Midland now possesses a vibrant nightlife! I recommend the H wholeheartedly, especially the Café Zinc for breakfast, the Oxygen Lounge for drinks and a magnificent outdoor courtyard (part of ONe Eighteen, I guess) for dinner & afterglow. Rooms were spacious and service was superb.
The pillows, the blankets, the beds even the towels were absolutely amazing! The shower is an open concept which was great for looks but the floor can get a bit wet and a little slippery if you’re not careful! However, this is definitely not a deal breaker! The h hotel is fantastic!
We were there for a wedding, everything was perfect, the setup was perfectly arranged, the staff was attentive and did a wonderful job! We would stay there again, the locatin was perfect, the room was very updated and confortable
One night here on Michigan road trip. What a gem to find! Room across the hall from each other. Spotlessly clean. Comfy beds. Pack and play brought to the room. Curtains/blinds operated from a wall switch. Very convenient to restaurants downtown. Parking lot close by. There was a garage but we just parked in the lot. There is a nearby kids’ playground and splash pad area. Would highly recommend and return here.
This was a lovely stay! The hotel is beautiful and in an absolutely perfect location. We walked to a Great Lakes Loons Game, we walked to dinner/lunch each day, and also enjoyed the entertainment of the social district along the main street. We also brought our bikes and rode 16 miles of Chippewa/Pere Marquette Trail. The hotel has a small parking garage with bike racks, but also ample parking located in a large lot. The staff was friendly and very helpful as was the housekeeper I saw in the hall. There was a glitch with our booking in our favor where we ended up with the Perfect Chemistry Package that included a $50 F&B credit to use at Zinc, two tickets to Dow Gardens, and chocolate covered strawberries and wine sent to the room. We felt very taken care of. The only issue we had were some noisy wedding guests being obnoxious in the hall around 1:30 in the morning, the doors are not well insulated, so try not to get a room by the elevator. Still a five star stay however and we would definitely stay here again if we need to!…
Supposed to be a 5 star but found it lacking. Carpet in room all stained and nasty. No microwave in room or anywhere in hotel we could use. Had better refrigerator at a holiday Inn (which also had a microwave). No drawers to put clothes, better only have short things to hang in closet, no place in bathroom to put bathroom items.
We stayed in the H for my sister’s bachelorette party, spread out in 2 rooms. We had a lowkey slumber party and for the most part enjoyed our stay. However, we had a couple issues. First, although we had notes on our reservation that we needed a rollaway bed in each room, only one rollaway was available to us. We double checked with the front desk and there were no more available. The much more upsetting issue was that a porter named John upset my sister (the bride). He was helping her with her luggage cart, and she remarked to her friend that the hotel was so pretty. John said “yes, this is a very nice hotel, so don’t trash your room”. I’m not sure why he said this. The luggage cart did have some drinks on it, so maybe he assumed we were having a wild party. It was just really sad that this happened, and especially to the bride. I let the front desk know what happened when we checked out, and I emailed the hotel a couple days ago, but so far have received no response.…
Friendly, attentive staff made for a very enjoyable high school reunion. Rooms are very nice, extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Only complaint is low water pressure in shower; a free-standing make-up mirror would also be a nice addition to the otherwise very well appointed room. Restaurants are the best in Midland. Cocktail bar is decent, a bit behind wrt ice balls/large cubes and quality cocktail cherries.
I would highly recommend H Hotel and will look forward to returning. This is a beautiful property - exquisitely maintained! The staff are extremely professional, friendly and proficient. I wish my stay was longer so I could have enjoyed more of the amenities.
