A family vacation spot for those who love to camp. We’re located one short mile from the beautifully unique Silver Lake Sand Dunes. With over 200 campsites and 16 rustic cabins we have plenty to offer families traveling together. Accommodations include a bathroom facility that is comparable to high end hotels, heated pool with pool side gazebos, and outdoor amphitheater for movies for starters.

Detailed Reviews
Close to the beach with lots of room in our two bedroom "condo." The big issue is you have to bring everything with you- I mean everything- towels, toilet paper, dish soap, trash bags, etc... Close to everything in Mears though and owners were very friendly.

Thanks for reviewing a property in Silver Lake, MI! I'm under the suspicion you stayed at Silver Sands Resort since they have "condos" located on the beach, whereas we have rustic cabins located one mile from the lake. I'm happy to share this review with Dave and Val. Thanks again for visiting the area.

Wow! This campground is amazing. The staff is very accessible. They text you updates like the WIFI password. The front office is well staffed. The campsites are grass and they’re deep and wide. Reservations were easy to make. Great camp store and clean facilities. We will be back for sure.

Great camping park. Bath/Showers are 1st class. All staff interactions were exemplary! Obviously management trickles down to the front line staff! We were there at the first weekend allowing ORV activities on the dunes. The whole area was hopping w excitement! You can't go wrong w/ booking a spot at this campground.

My family and I really don't like it. This campground worse one we will not come again. But the lake is good it's shallow. I'm talking about the campground far away from the lake.
The employees were very accurate they said you have to leave before end the time or we gonna charge you for next day.

Hi Tariq, We don't have a lake on property which leads me to believe you may be writing about a different location. Any chance you could verify that you stayed in Michigan for Labor Day weekend. I can cross reference our database too. Look forward to hearing back to clear up any confusion. Thanks so much.

SLRC is the best campground in Silver Lake. The facilities are great, with something for everyone (pool, volleyball, fishing pond, close to dunes, movie nights, even wifi). The bath house and laundry facilities are very clean and large. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. Campsites are large and very well maintained. Sites are grass covered. Close to dunes or lake for sand toys or boating. Quick trip to town for go carts and ice cream or to the dunes for Sunset Hill. It is obvious that this campground is family owned and operated with family in mind. The new office/store is amazing! The yearly upgrades are something you won't see anywhere else. If you try it once, you too will have a new location for your annual vacation.

Thank you for the great review Ernie and Kristi! We do strive to offer a little something for everyone, and we're thrilled that is something you have noticed during your stay. Our park is very family centered as we know how essential those family memories are. We are so looking forward to hosting YOUR family again this year!

As first time visitors with our two children we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay! The staff is hospitable, the facilities are clean, the lots are spacious, and the amenities are top notch. Minutes from the sand dunes and the lighthouse/beach, you really can't go wrong by booking here. We will be returning for sure!

On a good note, the campground was very clean. The bathrooms, showers, store, pool, etc. On a bad note, the rules are a bit too strict. My children (teens) were playing volleyball and only 2 points left in the game. They were told they could not finish because it was 10pm (closing time) and was told to leave the court. Another incident was when we had a movie screen hanging from our awning and showing a movie for the kids. It was playing with the lowest volume and the kids were quietly watching the movie and enjoying the campfire. We were told it was past 11pm and to shut it down.

Thank you for your review Dawn! We are happy that you enjoyed the cleanliness of the facilities as our staff does work extremely hard at this. We are so sorry to hear that our policies were not in line with your expectations. For safety issues, we do close down all public areas such as the volleyball, horseshoes, pool and playground after dark as they are not well lit. We do also enforce our 11pm quiet time, and ask that any items such as radios, tv's, etc that may be disruptive to other families are turned off. Again, we do apologize if there was any misunderstanding on our policies, and thanks again for taking the time to give us your feedback!

Very nice campground. Friendly staff there to welcome us. The campsites were very spacious and clean. All sites had fire pits for campfire at night. I would highly recommend if you are planning on going to the dunes. Location was very close to the sand dunes.

Thank you for great review Mike! We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. We do agree that the campsites are fairly spacious, which is always a plus for our campers. We also love how you mentioned our location to the dunes; we are just one short mile! Again, thank you for taking the time to review our park, and we hope to see you again soon!

Wow, where do I start? We booked our stay for 5 nights to enjoy all Silver Lake has to offer us and our Jeep. We hadn't found the perfect camping facilities until this trip! The staff from check-in to the cleaning crew at the restrooms and showers are the friendliest and most helpful people I have met in over 8 trips to the dunes! We have stayed in a different campground or with friends each time up but no more. If we camp it will forever be here! When I say the restroom crew is nice? Know how I would know that? Because one of them is at the restroom/showers EVERY time I go there. It was the dank showers and restrooms at our last campground that had me looking for a new place to stay. These restrooms are beautiful, nicer than mine at home. And spotless. The showers ALL have their OWN PRIVATE DOORS people! Not a curtain in a communal area! They also have a second building with a huge private handicap restroom with shower along with regular facilities tucked into the center of the campground! The pool is nice and HEATED! They have a pavilion with lots of tables. The lots are HUGE enough for several vehicles PLUS your camping gear. We had a huge tent, a screened tent for picnic area, a full sized truck and a jeep and still could have parked another car! And we knew we were arriving from Indiana much too late to enter our first nite through the gates, they stayed in contact by phone and let us come early the next morning, treated us like family, then slipped us a voucher for free wood. Oh yeah, the wood is kept dry in an enclosed shed! They have cute little cabins also but book them early! It's so quiet there, no loud parties, you see the staff doing a walk through in the evening which is comforting if you need anything. I would only have one suggestion? We spent all our time at the dunes as we had no young kids to entertain at the campground. By the time we got back the pool was closed. I only got to the pool once because I stayed behind half a day and there were lots of young families as it should be! Would you ever consider an over 21 Two Hour After Dark Pool Party for those of us craving that peaceful activity with no littles after we watched the sunset on the dunes? That would literally be the only thing to make this place get 10 stars. See you next season!

This review is amazing and extremely humbling. You highlighted exactly what we worked on constructing over the last 13 seasons. You will be happy to know that we plan to extend our recreation in the coming years and a late night swim sounds awesome. If patience is your thing I hope we can deliver and clean up on that 10 star rating. The future is bright for SLRC and it's because of guests such as yourselves. THANK YOU!

We have been camping in Mears for 5 years. We've stayed at the State Campground and Jellystone. We decided to try Silver Lake Resort and Campground this year. This is the place we will now return to each year. First, it's full hook up if you have a camper. If you choose to use the facilities you'll find them updated and immaculate! The shower and restroom were better than a lot of hotels I've stayed in. Also, the main store is well-stocked, updated and clean. There are books to read and newer movies to rent.
The receptionist area was quick and SUPER friendly. Each time I went in there I got smiles and assistance (if needed). My kids loved the in ground pool. They also loved the two movie nights.
The campground was quiet and had a friendly atmosphere.
Well done SLRC!
