We stayed one night at the National, found it historic and lovely. The Inn has been renovated true to the period and the surrounding area is lovely, also with many historic buildings. Our room was the Anne J. Ells, one of the smaller, but we toured the other rooms after check out the following morning, all beautifully appointed. The Ells... More

This place was stunning. Not one complaint. Clean, comfortable & relaxing describe my stay. The food was delicious & the coffee was hot. I loved the vintage decor! There is a garden seat to enjoy a quiet night. Popcorn is available at night for a treat!

My husband surprised me with a night away (without the kids)! We had a wonderful stay at the National House. The Inn is historic and charming, the breakfast and afternoon reception snacks were delicious! All of the accommodations are outstanding but the real winners here are the staff. Mary and Deb were amazing and made our stay golden. We plan... More

My husband surprised me with an overnight at this B&B for my birthday. The place was beautiful!!! They had a nice birthday treat for us waiting in our room upon arrival. We toured the house and each room was nicely decorated with historical memorabilia. It is the oldest building in the county. You can see the original wood throughout the... More

We stayed one evening, the hostess was pleasant and the breakfast was filling. The bedroom was rather small but that could be expected considering the age of the building. The Nation House if a landmark hotel with room on both the first and second floors. If you're older I would suggest asking for a location on first floor making it... More

We've been coming to the National Inn for almost 30-years. Each time we've had different rooms, so we can say there are good ones and bad ones. One thing to say, we love them all, including the ones that are near the traffic circle. It's an old place. The floors creak. Some bathrooms are dated. It's part of the experience.... More

This was my first visit to Marshall [even though I live less than 100 miles away!] but it definitely won't be my last visit to Marshall, and the NATIONAL HOUSE INN will be the go-to place to stay! Where to start? So lovely. So nicely decorated. Clean and welcoming. Beginning with check-in process, the Innkeeper, Debbie, was so friendly and... More

Admittedly, I am spending my only night here. That said, I have been impressed by the ambience of the reception and the historic space itself to give high recommendations. The Gordon room is small but overlooks a quieter garden. It's cozy with its little fireplace. Nancy allowed us to check in a little early. That was so accommodating and much... More

This is what I see a great B&B to be. It is a historic building, with modern conveniences of course, in a charming town. The facility is clean and well maintained. Of course there are the creaks and sounds associated with any old building but that only adds to the charm. It is within a block walk to the downtown... More

We started staying at the National House in 1978. At the time the only room we could afford was the Adams Crosswhite room!! And to us it was Heaven. We have revisited many times since then and have stayed in virtually every room. So 38 years later it is one of our 5star accomodations and we could not recommend it... More
