I like the location, the restaurants are all in walking distance, staff are kind and very helpful, the rooms are set up nicely, the beds are super comfortable, bathrooms are big, parking is easy, the place smells great, I like the big room windows , I would definitely come back.

I was looking for a nice place o stay, locally owned. You blew it. It was nice and seemed very clean, until my husband saw the urine dribble down the front of the commode. Ewww. Their was one tissue in the Kleenex box, no floor rugs next to the bed. Such a pity, the rooms were very nice. Our reception at the hotel was less than warm and the carry and go breakfast was terrible. No protein source available (like yogurt or hard boiled eggs found most places), super stale prepackaged pastries that were not tasty, no lids for carry out coffee cups, no low-sugar or gluten-free options available. Next time we will stay at the Doubletree in Port Heron.

We visited the Inn on Water Street on 9/7-9/9. We brought our morkie w/us. Our room was super comfortable, the views of the river, and freighters each day was so relaxing, + great. Rene was awesome as our host. Great value, and 1st class property. I give it 6 stars from 1 to 5. We'll definitely be back....soon. Jim + Kathi Rypkema Okemos, MI

We just returned from a quick one night getaway and stayed at The Inn on Water Street. What a great find. Renae hit the nail on the head when she recommend room 25. The view of the river was amazing! Steven checked us in and ensured we had everything we needed. This is a very small hotel and very clean. We absolutely loved staying there and will keep this on a list of great weekend getaways! And yes, the coffee machine is amazing! We will be back!

My husband, young son and I stayed at the Inn for 5 nights in July and quite honestly, we’ve never felt more uncomfortable in a hotel. We’ve been visiting Marine City for years, we know the area well and our family has lived here for generations and recommended the Inn. As opposed to the staff greeting us when passing by, we greeted them first or no words were exchanged. There were many times the staff did not pause their own personal conversations or phone calls to wave, say 'hello' to or even look in the way of guests. I contacted the Inn prior to booking regarding COVID precautions and measures being taken whereas, upon arrival, we had to request our floors be mopped after our 4-year-old spilled water and the rag was black after wiping it up. We were told by the gal cleaning the rooms “it’s weird, we can’t seem to get the floors clean." Mid-stay, we received a phone call asking when our check-out day was and when they realized it was not that day, they inquired if we 'needed anything' in our room. When I inquired if they would be cleaning our room that day, I was met with fresh towels brought to our room, told to 'toss our dirty towels in the hall' and the room did not cleaned that day. We were incredibly excited to visit one of our favorite summer destinations, especially during such an unprecedented year, only to end up feeling the the most unwelcome and uncomfortable we’ve ever felt in our travels. Coming from a high-level hospitality environment that is my career, this could be a GEM of a place if the management team adopted some hospitality and exemplified kindness toward all and expected their employees do the same. We will not be back to the Inn but, as always, are excited to return to Marine City.

In town for a family event and stayed for 2 nights. Very comfy room and bed. We kept the room fan on constant because other reviewers said they could hear noices. It did the trick. The bar was open until 11:00 on the weekends and the server was very nice. The location can't be beat! I am grateful for a cute place to stay during these crazy times. Thank you!

This isn’t that bad of a place honestly but when you can hear every whisper of anyone in the whole building, much less being woken up by people having sex in the middle of the night, you have to give this one star. I can hear everything in the room above, below, and to both sides of me. Don’t bother bringing any kids. I dropped a piece of the complementary cookie on the floor only to find ants swarming it within 5 seconds. If your looking to stay between Detroit and Port Huron, I can guarantee it’s not here.

Doors locked, must call to get in.....45 minute wait. only 1 person on duty, Restaurant closed, ok kinda understandable because of Covid, Bar open till 10, unfortunately the only employee there also was the bartender. I came down from my room 3 times for a drink and she was nowhere to be found. I realize personal preference, but I not care for rock hard beds and just hard wood chairs in rooms. Oh yeah forgot to mention....$200 a night for this nightmare!!! Manager Renee' called and offered me a free nigh stay.....ummmm NO THANKS!!

Lovely room / view even in the winter. Had several amenities includeing wine glasses & bath robes. We did not like the mattress, even though it was suppose to be a good bamboo mattress. I guess if you are use to the foam mattress it would be good but we felt like we sunk into a spot. Only 2 minor issues I would say about the stay. No plastic bag for dirty clothes and the clock on the night stand was small and hard to read.
