Hotel's Favorite
Spent my 60th birthday there. Excellent, as always and wonderful staff, immaculate room and beautiful freighters.
I love this inn and it will always be a favorite.
The breakfast is okay, but I didn't expect more. The coffee machine is an absolute highlight.

In town for a family event and stayed for 2 nights. Very comfy room and bed. We kept the room fan on constant because other reviewers said they could hear noices. It did the trick. The bar was open until 11:00 on the weekends and the server was very nice. The location can't be beat! I am grateful for a cute place to stay during these crazy times. Thank you!

+1
My husband & I had the reverse experience of the prior reviewer. We spent a peaceful Christmas Eve & Christmas Day evening at this quiet Summer waterside Little Town. Every single contact we had with staff, even though they were there serving US on a holiday, was delightful. We even found the gift shop open in time to get a delightful Swarovski crystal gift! Our Christmas Eve dinner at the Farmhouse Bistro was superb. The menu was diverse & tasty, generous portions & delightful service.
We also appreciated the elegant Holiday decorations in the Hotel lobby & Bistro. Our suite was spacious, comfy & in the “Farmhouse” style. Our bed was so comfortable, we’re ready to buy one! On the 2d floor there is comfortable Common room which includes a telescope, sofas & tv. We look forward to returning during “season” so we can enjoy this charming community with diverse activities & eating options.

I was looking for a nice place o stay, locally owned. You blew it. It was nice and seemed very clean, until my husband saw the urine dribble down the front of the commode. Ewww. Their was one tissue in the Kleenex box, no floor rugs next to the bed. Such a pity, the rooms were very nice. Our reception at the hotel was less than warm and the carry and go breakfast was terrible. No protein source available (like yogurt or hard boiled eggs found most places), super stale prepackaged pastries that were not tasty, no lids for carry out coffee cups, no low-sugar or gluten-free options available. Next time we will stay at the Doubletree in Port Heron.

Lovely room / view even in the winter. Had several amenities includeing wine glasses & bath robes.
We did not like the mattress, even though it was suppose to be a good bamboo mattress. I guess if you are use to the foam mattress it would be good but we felt like we sunk into a spot. Only 2 minor issues I would say about the stay. No plastic bag for dirty clothes and the clock on the night stand was small and hard to read.

We visited the Inn on Water Street on 9/7-9/9. We brought our morkie w/us. Our room was super comfortable, the views of the river, and freighters each day was so relaxing, + great. Rene was awesome as our host. Great value, and 1st class property. I give it 6 stars from 1 to 5. We'll definitely be back....soon.

Thank you so much for this review - would you mind moving it to 5-star instead of 1-star since you had such a nice time? (I think it may have been a mistake).

My wife and I stayed at the Inn for a weekend getaway. We enjoyed a fantastic meal at The Bistro and a comfortable stay. This was our second stay at the Inn and we were excited to return. The Inn and Bistro did not disappoint. We look forward to returning.

Beautiful views and nice, modern rooms that are very clean. Very nice clean hotel with huge rooms and a balcony overlooking the St Clair river and the shipping freighters. Its like a B&B but with a lot more privacy. Perfect place to stay for a nice weekend getaway.

Celebrated our anniversary here with a one night getaway. We opted for the dinner and theater package which included a $50 voucher for the on-site restaurant (fabulous food) and 2 tickets to the local theater production (a wonderful show). This is a brand new hotel with great amenities. Frig was stocked with water and milk to drink with the freshly baked cookies waiting for us in the room. Room was large with a comfy king size bed (deluxe linens) and a large love seat and ottoman. No coffee maker but they are happy to bring you a pot if requested. Large bathroom with a big walk-in shower. Robes and big fluffy towels provided. We chose a balcony room (#12) with a river view. Totally worth it! We watched fisherman and freighters on the river. The hotel is located within short walking distance to some lovely shops downtown. Continental breakfast included in the AM. Make your own pancakes, sausage, boiled eggs, homemade granola, fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, muffins and bagels. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Highly recommend!!!!
