Amazing. What can I say. It’s a step back in time to the ‘50’s. Everything is perfect. Immaculately clean… I think the maid has perfectionist OCD. The guy at the desk is the owner and genuinely cares about his guests. It is THE BEST place to stay within 200 miles.

Great room rates and extremely clean and comfortable rooms . The host at the motel is very knowledgeable about the local area and he is very welcoming and friendly. Free coffee in the morning is a nice touch also. We are from the UK and will stay here again if ever in the area in the future. We highly recommend this place.

This is a quaint, well-kept motel within close proximity to Manistique and Lake Michigan across the road. The beds are very comfortable with affordable rates. We stay here whenever we come to the area.

The owner is incredibly courteous, kind, welcoming, comfortable and hospitable but also funny and great taste in aesthetics. Not to mention the warm welcome of three cute quiet daschunds. The adjacent guests were kind and quiet. The motel is located in great location. At a small mention that it was my birthday, he changed his marquee to say happy birthday for me. Which looked so cool lit up at night. If you’re looking for a comfortable vibey stay with kind company in a great location, this is the spot for you.

We had a comfy and wonderful stay at this so charming motel. Mike and his doggies are doing a great job and made our stay just relaxed and chilly. The room was very clean, the location and even the decoration are simply fantastic. The Colonial Motel is a very special place. Authentic and run with a passion by the owner, you feel at once. Thank you, Mike, for having us.

Clean, Comfortable room and just what I was looking for. Best local Motel in Manistique and surrounding area. Located on US #2 with lots of safe parking. If you want a good burger & beer try Wheaty's Bar in Town (Manistique).

This is a one story independently owned motel. The room was large and very clean. We had a king size bed, a couch, and a table and chairs. It’s charming from the outside, with a porch in front. It was all very pleasant. The owner was friendly and helpful. We would stay there again, and highly recommend it.

Visiting the UP is like stepping back in time. If you want to stay in a 1950s motel, there are many to choose from. The Colonial Motel sets the standard for clean and comfortable at a good price. Mike the owner/operator is very hands on and wants you to have a great stay. He put us up in a large double queen room with an oval bathtub. Our bathtub experts gave it two thumbs up! Our only suggestion is to install better curtains to block out the night time lights. You will hear some highway noise. All of the motels in the area are along the same highway - so they all have the same road noise. Coffee and donut holes are served in the morning. The 3 Seasons Cafe next door was a great recommendation for dinner.
