Upper Michigan tour With the family. Beautiful quiet location. Mature evergreens between each site offer privacy. Campground super clean and inviting. Good size pool, tennis courts, sand volleyball, basketball, plenty of games and activities available for use. They even had scheduled activities for the kids if desired. Campers were all respectful and friendly. The only negative of this Campground is the remote location: 1.5 hours to Mackinaw, 1 hour to Traverse City, and 1.5 hours to Sleeping Bear Dunes. We did it all, though, and enjoyed returning to the amazing star-filled dark sky, and the peace and quiet.
This place is. We're first time rv-ers, covid inspired to travel around lake Michigan in our rented vehicle. In addition to the mammoth trailers on wheels, there are scatteted tent campers, younger adults, families with kids, a couple thoughtfully designed retro air bnb trailer units for rent that are cute, including a 'schoolie' retrofitted school bus. Looks like people come & stay for longer stretches judging by the outdoor rugs, flag stone walkways, elaborate lighting. Seemed like a united nations summer camp going on with dozens of teenagers playing volleyball, riding bikes. Pool is actually well maintained, clean, next to pickle ball courts (whatever that is). Don't get me wrong, this is high-living RV land but newbies like us liked it too! Cool young owners definitely got it going on. …
We rented a refurbished camper named Frolic for 3 nights, and it had everything we needed. It was well decorated, had an awning, Adirondack chairs, a microwave, fridge, air conditioning, all necessary kitchen utensils, towels etc. The mattresses were great and we slept well. The campground is absolutely beautiful and the sites give you just enough privacy from the next door neighbors. They have everything you could want for family fun from Cornhole to Hillbilly golf to tether ball. Each restroom is private with a shower, toilet and sink and are very clean. The staff is very friendly, happy, and helpful. They even come around each evening delivering firewood and ice!! Best campground we have ever been to and will go back again when we get the chance.
My wife, daughter and I stayed there this weekend for our first time. The campground was well kept, and they had a nice bathouse. We enjoyed our site, and would definitely recommend this camp ground. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating.
Can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was; it is such a beautiful place with firendly staff and great facilities - it has it all.The owner even gave us an itenerary of places to go and things to see, and must say they really made the trip over the top. The sites were spacious and well laid out. One of the big things was the nature walk that we took each morning. Just a great campground, in a beautiful place. We plan to go back.
