A very large campground 3 miles from Mackinaw City, we had a large lot. However do not plan on doing any work while there as the Internet service is horrible! They have a 3rd party Company from Texas run it. While you can see the service on your WIFI settings. It will not connect. When you ask the staff about it they play dumb and tell you to call the 800 number. I am sure they are asked this question every day! When you do call the 800 number they first try to sell you the premium service. When they fail to sell you the more expensive service. You are hooked up for a while at dial up speeds. You cannot connect again unless you repeat the procedure. Normally I can use a cell phone hotspot but I have ATT and US cellular phones and neither would work at this campground for Data but they did work for voice ! The phones both worked fine for voice and data at the previous and next Campgrounds we stayed at.

Beautiful views of Lake Huron, Mackinaw island and bridge, clean, quiet and the sound of the waves crashing to shore are amazing. Unfortunately, Starline, the company that shuttles back and forth to the dock put a damper on my perfect vacay. I called to ask if we could take the shuttle into town as it does several times a day. We were told we could but when we called for the shuttle, three very rude women said they weren’t a taxi service and couldn’t take us. If I may suggest, Mill Creek should work with Starline to allow guests to ride whether continuing on to the island or not. I was willing to pay for the ride and the rude women adamantly refused. I highly recommend Mackinaw Mill Creek but their relationship with Starline needs help.

Thanks for staying with us and for the nice review! Yes, everyone is short-staffed and those working are a bit overdone after a summer so record breaking, exhausting and busy that even Star Line's CEO is working on the boats this summer. Sorry about them not being more understanding. We don't have much for Uber or Lyft and there was a shuttle company that the owners retired last year so there are not a lot of options for rides into town at the moment.

The Bad: No pull-through sites. And cramped back-ins. You cannot post a letter at the camp store - you have to drop letters and cards off at the Mackinac Post Office 3 miles away. No laundry facilities. The "Captains Quarters" laundromat is in Mackinac 3 miles away. The camp store is closed from 1200 - 1500 daily. There is only ONE inconveniently located trash bin spot. Free WiFi only works for eMail. If you want to stream HBO or Netflix, it's another $4 per day, or $37 per week - and you'll need a geek and several phone calls to WiFiNow.net to get your smart TV and Laptop set up. Water and power hookups are shared with neighboring sites. After looking around for our connections for 15 minutes, we finally figured this out. - The Good: Huge camp site. Zillions of spaces - probably always have a space open. Kids playground and Kid friendly Centrally located showers and rest rooms Very nice Camp Store - Something for everyone 3 miles from town. 2 miles to the Lumberjack Show (Lots of fun - IF you are 65+ be sure to get the SENIOR ticket rate at the camp store - the cashiere won't tell you about the discount and will just sell you the $16 ticket instead of the $12 ticket) We got tickets (On-Line) for the (Original) Sault St Marie Locks boat trip (65 miles north). Senior discounts are available at the docks. We also visited several Mackinac attractions - including wine and brewery shops, and a haunted house show. We visited the lighthouse park (did not take the $ tour) - but not the Michilimackinac fort (we spent 2 days on Mackinac island and did see the fort there - worthwhile) So - OK - we made due. NOT a bad spot - but could be much better.

Great place to visit!! Couple of con’s are no laundry, spaces are tight, and privacy was minimal. Pro’s are great view, beach fire pits, nice camp store, food trucks, good maintenance but above all beach front and phenomenal view of Mackinaw Bridge & island. Will definitely return!!

This is one of the most beautiful campgrounds I've visited. We stayed in one of the small sites. It was definitely small. Had we not known our neighbors it might have been too small. We enjoyed taking our dogs along the vast dog run area. They thoroughly enjoyed it. Tons of garbage cans for dog poop too. The area all along the beach was so pretty. The fire pits for anyone to use on the coast were so wonderful. The camp store, pool and showers were all really clean. We especially loved the fireworks that we got to watch on Friday night. Mackinaw City shoots them off every Friday which was a great surprise. They went off around 10:30 or so. We will definitely be back to this campground!!
