The inn is very nice. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. However there was a constant mechanical sound that never stopped that sounded like a generator motor running. We asked about it at the desk but were advised that they couldn't hear it and there were no available rooms for us to relocate. Quiet surroundings are required for a relaxing vacation. We got neither on this stay.
What a great place to stay. It was clean, good/friendly service. Room was small but we managed. Not much place at all to hang or put cloths. We basically lived out of suitcases which we normally would not do for 4 nights, but it worked. Loved sitting on front porch late afternoon after spending all day out. Far enough out of town to not be in the hustle and bustle but yet close enough to walk. Highly recommend. If coming to island and want to ride bikes, recommend bringing your own. It’s well worth paying the fee to bring on the ferry than renting. We rode all around the island. Never thought I would ride bike in 50 degree weather, but with layers it was nice. Did have to. It a pair of gloves though. Also recommend getting pre-made sandwich at David’s and taking it with you for picnic on the beach. No luck finding Potoskey stones on the island. Such a fun time exploring the island and eating at different restaurants every day. Very relaxing enjoyable trip.…
First time booking with this hotel. NEVER AGAIN. We came down with Covid. The front desk would not offer a refund, a partial refund, or a chance to reschedule. Just said “we have a strict policy…14 days in advance only”. What made it worse was the flippant attitude of the main desk. We did not know that 14 days ago we would get Covid. They don’t want you there if you have Covid. It says in their policy. So, $1200 down the drain. Other hotels on the island will help you reschedule, etc. Stay away from this place.
Terrible experience. This is my first public comment over 30 years of travel. Extremely noisy elevator bell located right in front of the room (which is not mentionned upon booking). Rambling noise starting a 4:30 am probably due to washing machines. I do not bother commenting on the rest. A hotel which does not guarantee proper resting should not exist. Avoid at all cost.
My husband and I traveled to Mackinac Island to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we stayed at The Inn on Mackinac. The Inn was super clean and our room was cozy and it even had a balcony. All the staff was super nice and helpful, and we even received a surprise on the day of our anniversary. They surprised us with delicious fudge and they also helped our family to send us a goodie bag full of delicious things. We liked the beautiful porch and it was very nice that they offer breakfast and there is coffee and tea all day. The Inn is at a great location too. At the same time, it is very quiet and we were able to relax. They also have a little pool-spa, which is very nice to relax. Overall it was a great experience and we hope to go back some other time and stay at the Inn again.…
Four of us had booked the Inn on Mackinaw but there was some mix-up and our reservation had been deleted. They were very helpful getting it figured out and getting us a room and we so appreciated it. I think the mix-up was more Agodas fault than the hotel. The coffee and sweets were great at the Inn and we so enjoyed our entire stay on the island. Only one staff member at the desk was cold and efficient more than friendly and helpful but I'm not going to score everybody down because she was the exception.
Stayed one night at the charming Inn at Mackinac then was disappointed at their lack of a continuing warm spirit of welcome. After checking out in the morning, I stored my luggage there and returned mid-afternoon to their patio to spend some time writing in my journal. I looked up and saw no one on the outdoor porch on the second floor. So I went inside to ask as a courtesy if I could sit up there. The clerk recognized me then told me flatly no. Without provocation she added the strange and rude rationale that I wouldn't be allowed in the pool either -- which when considering the need for a changing room and fresh towels, seems a very different matter. I wasn't asking to freeload. It was as if at 11:01 a.m. I stopped being a valued guest; there was rude apathy to my being a repeat customer. I answered sadly that I wouldn't be back.…
This is the second time I've stayed here and it was as good as the first. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our granddaughters loved the spa pool and balcony off our room. The breakfast was more than enough to carry us through our busy morning. It was a relaxing, peaceful stay.
We stayed 2 nights at this Inn. It's the perfect location, just past the busy Main St businesses. Our room had a private bath and door near the spa pool, which was a great treat after a day of biking. Our bags were transported back and forth from the ferry for us, and there's a bike rental right across the street. A magical place!
Check in and out was quick and easy. All employees were extremely nice, courteous, and helpful. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. Small bathroom with toilet and shower. The sink was in the room itself, but this made it convenient to get ready with 4 girls sharing the room. The hot tub was wonderful after a full day of hiking and biking! Location was 5 minutes walk from main street which made for a quiet place to relax. With covid precautions, continental breakfast was only option here. It was adequate with cereal, oatmeal, assortment of pastries, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, coffee, juice and hot tea. Overall this was an excellent get away and we would not hesitate to stay here again!
