Main Street Inn and Suites emerges as a beloved destination among guests for its immaculate and beautifully decorated rooms, with comfort being a highlight due to the plush furnishings and the inviting atmosphere, accentuated by pleasant balconies. The hotel's location on Main Street is lauded as perfect, adding to its charm.
Patrons appreciate the thoughtful amenities, including the turndown service with fudge, and the staff's exceptional service is a standout feature. However, some guests note that AC issues and rigid cancellation policies slightly mar the overall value.

Detailed Reviews
Our kids (6yr & 5yr) have never been to Mackinaw Island before so we decided to take a small family trip to let them experience this place. I've stayed with my wife at this location once before about 11 years ago and it was pretty neat to be centrally located to most of the action on the island. You're in the heart of downtown where the horses roam, the bikers ride, and the smells of fudge and food are apparent.
The staff was courteous on arrival after our ferry ride to the island. Even had a small square of fudge waiting for us at check-in! The hotel itself is dated, showing it's old age charm in the decor and fixings. Still, it's very quiet on the premises and easy to access the various features.
Three floors up (top floor BTW) we stayed in your standard room with 2 queen beds. Mattresses were very comfy and everyone slept well with hardly any ambient noise from outside the room.
Leftovers from dinner at the Pink Pony were kept nice in the fridge, shower boasted hot water with no worries, and room had enough A/C to keep us cool during the day/night.
Bonus to the staff for the 1/2 pound of free fudge at checkout. Nice snack on the ferry ride back to the City.
Suggestion to the staff: A Laundry Bag for dirty clothes was not present in room, had to ask the staff for one. Please make this a standard for future guests.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Main Street Inn & Suites and we think you will too. Rooms during peak season can be $$ in price, so book early and get the one you would like to stay in if possible.
Thanks!

We docked our boat at the Mackinac Island Marina, and checked in to the Main Street Inn-cannot say enough positive things about our experience! Staff is VERY friendly, personable, and helpful. Our room was spotless clean, bed was extremely comfortable. Great location. Next time we’d try to book a room with a balcony as we booked last minute and none were available. Oh-they also give you a little block of Mackinac Island fudge each night, and there is easy accessible basement bike storage. I highly recommend this lovely hotel! We have stayed on the island many, many times over the years including the Grand Hotel and Mission Pointe...however I see no reason to stay anywhere else now that we’ve discovered this gem :)

Girls 2 day stay on the island and this was the PERFECT place to stay, rooms tastefully decorated, very comfortable bedding and soft towels for the bathroom. Loved the fudge placement on the bed. We had EXCELLENT service from the front desk people and they safely guarded our luggage and purchases prior to check in and also at check out so we could enjoy more of the island. I cannot tell you how much this hotel exceeded our expectations. It will be one that I would definitely recommend to others and would gladly go back to. Plus, the rates were so good compared to some of the other options!!!

We are just back from a three night stay at Main Street Inn and Suites. In spite of Covid restrictions, we had a lovely stay. Our room, 308, was gorgeous. Everything was clean. We appreciated the spaciousness of the suite, and did not miss turndown service at all. The balcony is perfect for coffee in the morning and wine at night while watching the business of the street below. The location of this inn is perfect. You are right in the middle of Main Street, and have a quick escape when the crowds get thick or you want to use your own, clean bathroom. We found that we ventured out in the morning and evening, but took our lunch back to our room and enjoyed it in the air conditioning during the busy, tourist heavy middle of the day.
I would definitely stay here again. Although it is expensive, it is quaint and well-run. Everything about the property is wonderful.

I booked a deluxe suite. It was clean, roomy and the beds were comfortable. Coffee and cucumber/lemon water was available on each floor daily. Got a knock on the door asking if we wanted turn down service. I didn't even know that was a thing anymore!! The hotel is in the middle of downtown, very convenient. With the hustle and bustle of the outside town area, you never heard any of that in your room, very peaceful. I will definitely stay there again! Pleasant staff too!

+1
Main Street Inn and Suites on Mackinac Island is a lovely hotel in a beautiful place. We experienced a wonderful 3 days and nights in a one-bedroom king suite with a balcony where we enjoyed views of Main Street buildings and activity. The hotel is beautifully decorated and very clean.
The hotel has various room types. We found our suite to be exactly as expected based on the hotel website photos and descriptions. Walking into the suite from the hallway, we entered the bedroom with king bed. The bed was comfortable, furnishings beautiful and functional, and lighting good. The split bath between the bedroom and living room is convenient for two people preparing for the day; the spaces are clean and well-lit with plenty of storage, handrails, and towel racks; the shower has good water pressure. The living room is both comfortable and beautiful, and the wet bar is very convenient for eating and snacking in the suite. Two wicker chairs and a small table on the street-front balcony provide for pleasant time watching people, horses, and carriages.
A wide hallway on the second floor provides morning coffee and afternoon lemon water. A room with game table, sofa and coffee table, pool table, game/book cabinet, and small microwave is a pleasant space for visiting with other hotel guests.
Interactions with all hotel staff were pleasant – front desk staff, porter Lewis, and housekeeping staff. Lewis picked up our luggage labeled for the hotel at the Shepler’s Ferry dock even as we were making our way across the street to the hotel. We were carrying personal items (toiletries/medications bags and sleep machine which we dropped at the front desk) and were glad we did not have to retrieve our 2 suitcases and cooler. When our room was ready, Lewis delivered everything to our suite. Housekeeping not only keeps clean, neat rooms, but in the evening, they provide turndown service and a small box of JoAnn’s fudge. Special shoutout to Vandalyn for excellent service and very pleasant greetings.
The small lobby is not impressive, but provides the service needed. We received a free slice of fudge coupon for JoAnn’s at checkout – don’t know if they provide this for every guest or if it was based on length of stay or the fact that I was turning in a survey, but we appreciated the parting gift which we picked up at the shop next door.
We loved our stay at Main Street Inn and Suites and our time on the island. We would love to visit again, and we will definitely recommend it to our friends.

This hotel was amazing from beginning to end! Location from Shepler’s ferry was amazing. We loved that we didn’t have to worry about our luggage. They brought it over which was nice with kids. We arrived a little early and room wasn’t quite ready. They held the rest of our items so we could go get lunch & they texted us once the room was ready. They brought all of our luggage to our room. The room was so pretty. We didn’t have one complaint about our room. We originally booked an deluxe standard interior room & they had upgraded us without us asking or fee! Amazing service. This was our first time to Mackinac island. They helped us with getting taxi. It was also my son’s birthday they had a sign in the elevator wishing him a happy birthday and they greeted him with happy birthday too! The fudge given nightly and the free slice at check out was delicious! We would definitely stay there again and recommend to all. Location was to everything was perfect walking distance.

If you want to stay on Main Street, stay here. Rooms are spacious, updated and clean. Really enjoyed the balcony. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The coffee service on each floor in the morning was very much appreciated. It’s a simple thing that hotels can do to for their guests and many hotels on the island don’t. We appreciate not having to run out each morning for a cup of coffee. We would recommend staying here.

I have spent my birthday with my family at Main Street Inn and Suites. Besides the great rooms and the fantastic location that I already knew, folks went above and beyond to recognize my special date, making it a little bit more special. I would absolutely recommend the place to family and friends!

Spent mother's Day weekend with my two sisters at this hotel and it was such a fantastic experience! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel room was so clean and little details like lemon water and coffee that was made available made us feel really welcomed and taken care of. We would absolutely recommend this establishment and hope to return ourselves next year!
