Do yourself a favor, and ride, bike or walk to the Inn at Stonecliffe. It's got one of the best views of the Mackinac Bridge, especially at night. I stayed in the main mansion, and the rooms must have been newly refurbished, new beds, new carpet, new wallpaper. And you can eat outside on the patio for breakfast, which is... More

We stayed at The Inn at Stonecliffe Summer House for a family wedding. The third floor Summer House suites in the rear of the building have nice covered balconies with lake views, a great place for morning coffee or simply relaxing in the evening. The rooms were clean, very well appointed and comfortable. The public areas of the mansion give... More

It felt nostalgic, like Going back to the early parts of the 1900's. Definitely hasn't don't much to upgrade but maintaining of the property made experience of this old mansion converted to a hotel. Overpriced but again it's the experience you'll love. Nice staff, subpar breakfast , no effort there like going to a 2 or 3 star hotel. It's... More

I reserved this hotel specifically for the heated pool but the heat pump was inoperable so it was too cold to use. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable particularly for families with children. The food in the dining room was very expensive so we ate pizza at the bar and the bar staff was great. Beware that you are... More

I am disappointed to say I was not a room guest of the Inn at Stonecliffe but I was a guest of their restaurant. I have eaten just about everywhere on Mackinac and decided to make the trip out to Stonecliffe for dinner. WOW! The mansion is gorgeous with a great view of the Straits of Mackinac and a very... The property is beautiful, the beds were very comfortable, the hotel is an 1800s mansion that has been wonderfully preserved. We staid in the Candlelight Room, which may or may not be haunted, or the electoral was having issues. Our light and fan went on and off on its own at different times (light and fan separately) no less than... More

My husband and I stayed here last year, and then again this year and have enjoyed our stay each time. It's a little ways into the island but definitely worth the bike ride. The Inn is clean, quiet and the staff is friendly. Beautiful views from the bridge!

Stayed here for our anniversary. What a hidden gem! Located near the airport we had a king room in the mansion. The bed was so comfy. Everything about this place says perfect spot to celebrate. With views of the Mackinaw Bridge, a lovely portico for cocktails or morning coffee, lead pane windows, a spiral staircase and gorgeous grounds to enjoy... More

The mansion itself beyond a doubt delightful. However, the staff needs far more training. The dining room has a great view and little else. Check in very unprofessional. Very expensive for product received. Our 4th trip to the island and for our next trip will probably stay at a B&B in town. Should you elect to stay here, enjoy an... More

What a lovely inn! Everything is done well from the manor house rooms to the free hot breakfast. As a woman traveling alone for business I usually get put in the worst rooms at a property. Not here! My room has a fabulous view of mighty Mac and the well tended lawn. The staff are friendly and attentive. I feel... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Inn at Stonecliffe enjoys a storied place in Mackinac Island history. Built in 1904 as a family summer escape by industrialist Michael Cudahy, Stonecliffe has enchanted guests for nearly half a century. Situated high on the west bluff, Inn at Stonecliffe lodging comprises a classic Tudor-style mansion that offers 16 bed and breakfast style guest rooms, and the more modern Summer House Suites, with 31 richly appointed suites decorated in a classic summer cottage style with a light Victorian influence. Overnight visitors to Mackinac Island often observe that the best time to enjoy the island is in the early morning or late evening when the last ferry has carried the daily visitors back to the mainland. At The Inn at Stonecliffe, you’ll enjoy that feeling every moment of your stay. Anywhere you turn, tranquility and relaxation await, from the breathtaking bluff-top views of the Straits of Mackinac and Mackinac Bridge to the Inn’s lush, rolling lawns.Special Services and / or Features: • Breakfast Included• Air Conditioning• Onsite Dining and Cocktail Lounge• Weddings and Events• Kitchenettes• Bike Rentals • Cable Television• Outdoor Heated Pool• Private Baths• Telephones• Complimentary Wireless Internet• Non Smoking ... more   less
