The Bicycle Street Inn & Suites and Waterfront Collection is frequently praised for its spotless rooms and prime downtown location near dining and the Shepler Ferry. While guests enjoy the modern amenities and the hotel's welcoming atmosphere, some have expressed concerns about the accuracy of room descriptions, particularly regarding views and natural light. The service is often described as warm and attentive, yet, there are mentions of the hotel not providing the best value, with some travelers finding the experience not quite meeting expectations for the price.

We stayed here for a few days after months of not traveling. I researched and felt that the Waterfront North rooms were a great choice due to the small size of the building. I was not disappointed! Check in happens at the Waterfront South building next door as there is no desk in the North building. Check in was quick and our luggage was brought from the ferry to our rooms super fast as well. We liked that the building was smaller which meant we did not run into a crowd which we were concerned about with COVID. We chose not to have our room cleaned daily, but we did see them cleaning other rooms and were able to give them our trash and ask for anything we needed. We felt the room was very clean and everyone we saw in the hotel was wearing a mask. We even saw them wiping down the balcony chairs of another room. We felt completely safe here and the location can’t be beat. We will definitely stay here again.

We stayed here in July 2020, in a double queen room, with a waterfront view. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. Great location, right next to dock where Shepler's Ferry comes in. Even though it's in a busy location, we never heard any dock, water, or street noise (other than the ferry horn occasionally). You're close to a lot of restaurants, and bike rentals. I would say, if you were going to have more than 2 people in this room, even though there were two queen beds - the room is a little tight. And not a problem for me or my husband, but there was only one sink in the bathroom. But for two people on a trip, and we ate all but one meal out, it was very good. Adding this in the tips....but some places on the island don't have A/C. While daily temps don't get that high on the island, even in July, the A/C is worth some of the cost of this hotel - because you're thankful for it after a long walk or bike ride around the island. They are doing a great job with precautions during the pandemic.

The Bicycle Street Inn was centrally located, clean, and every employee we encountered provided exceptional service. We stayed in a suite with a balcony that overlooked Main Street and had a view of the water. The hotel has 3 buildings that are all right close together- 2 buildings on the water and 1 across the street (where we stayed).

The hotel is located directly next to the Sheppler’s ferry dock. It was very convenient that we could walk right off the ferry dock and into our hotel! The hotel is right in the middle of Main Street so when we were out and about it was easy to bop back up to the room really quickly to grab a sweater or put away shopping bags. This was a huge plus. Whereas some of the other lodging choices (Mission Point, Grand Hotel, Stonecliff) require a bit of a walk or a carriage ride to get to.

Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and professional, from housekeeping to the front desk. They were all amazing! The front desk helped us arrange dinner reservations, carriage rides, and gave recommendations. Also, there is a restaurant (The Winchester) and an ice cream parlor (Kilwin’s) located right underneath the hotel as well as a bike rental across the street.

Bicycle Street Inn was worth every penny! I would recommend this place to anyone going to the island and can’t wait to go back!

This was our first time on Mackinac Island. The hotel is on noisy Main Street, you get traffic of people and horses all day long, it can get quite busy compared to other resorts on the islands that are located on quieter more “bucolic” locations.
The rooms are insulated from the noise but the front desk staff at both the waterfront and main building are cold and standoffish. Breakfast was average we ended up eating somewhere else the second day.
Overall if you want the Mackinac experience choose somewhere else like the Island Hotel or the Grand Hotel, more expensive yes, but you get more for your money in terms of location and service by what we were able to observe.
Overall: average hotel, high prices during the summer, busy location, ok-ish rooms.

We were so pleased with our choice - waterfront view with balcony at the Bicycle Street Hotel. It is placed in the middle of town by two piers, so conveniently located but not at all noisy. They provided a free bottle of wine to enjoy in the balcony, coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, and continental breakfast brought to the room due to Covid. The breakfast was simple but I appreciated the effort and thought. You could choose from a short list, but it was adequate. The room was spacious, clean, and well appointed. The stairs were used by us often, as the elevator was quite slow but since there was only 3 floors, it was fine when not carrying up luggage. We will be back!

My family of three spent two nights in a king room suite with a pull-out sofa in the main building. We had a 3rd floor room with a balcony and an amazing view of the harbor and the street below. The customer service was top notch. We took an early ferry that first morning to the island and we did a precheck-in so that as soon as the room was ready we could go upstairs. I received a phone call when the room was ready and a bellhop brought our luggage up to the room promptly. The room was very comfortable for the three of us. We appreciated the storage room in the basement for our bikes and used it every night. We also appreciated the extra COVID precautions the hotel took. Instead of the traditional continental breakfast, they had a "continental breakfast in bed." You were able to choose your breakfast items on a list and they were delivered in a bag to your room the morning of. It was creative and much appreciated! We also enjoyed being in the middle of the action, able to hear the ferry horn and the horses on the street. It was also right across from Shepler's Ferry. The morning we left we were hoping to catch the 11:00am ferry back to the mainland, and didn't think it was possible to have our bags delivered to the ferry dock with 15 minutes to spare (we had our bikes as well). Sure enough, the person at the front desk marked our luggage and said they would be delivered in time. It was a very nice surprise and much appreciated! We had a great stay!

Until this year we've been happy with Bicycle Street Inn. We took our 13 yr old grandson for his first island visit this year and specifically asked about pool use through Lakeview Hotel. When I inquired about pool use at check-in we were told due to Covid we would not be granted pool access - only patrons of Lakeview could use the pool. I totally understand the reason behind restrictions, but I explained this is not what I was told when I booked. Had I known this we would NOT have cancelled the room we had originally booked thru Lakeview!! Rose, at the front desk, had nothing to offer us for the inconvenience other than to say that the booking agent should not have given out this information. Our room was mediocre, balcony floor was horribly warped, no screen for our balcony door. All other rooms on our side of the street and across the street were equipped with screens. Room service was a joke. There were maids everywhere but it took forever for them to make it around to our room. Most days we just grabbed extra towels and pulled our door tag off the door. I emailed my concern to the manager after returning home, but have yet to receive any response. Very disappointed about the misinformation from hotel staff and absence of an apology and/or reparation. Will be staying elsewhere next time. BSI was great when it first opened but came off as old, tired and uncaring during our recent stay.

My daughter and I just got back from our stay at Bicycle Street Inn waterfront south. We absolutely loved it there! Very clean very modern the location is right downtown so it’s a little noisier but we didn’t mind a bit, and by 10 PM it was completely quiet. Convenient location to everything. The thermostat was a little tricky to navigate, but as soon as I called the front desk they walked me through it. The shower was a little awkward but once I got used to it was fine, and the bathroom was absolutely gorgeous! There was a bottle of wine in our room, and chocolates each night hanging on our door. I would definitely stay here again!

I recently stayed in room #1205. I paid extra for a lake view. When I entered the room much to my disappointment the lake view was completely blocked by the roof line of the building below. When I asked to be moved to a room with a better lake view I was told there were no other rooms available. At that point I thought I would be offered some kind of discount. Not only did that not happen but there was not even an apology. What I did receive was a piece of fudge!
It is my opinion room #1205 does not justify this upgraded price I paid for my supposed lake view.
It’s a nice hotel just be warned don’t stay in room #1205.

We decided to book this weekend trip after months of safer-at-home and canceled plans. I read through the reviews and felt confident this would be a good, safe choice. We were not disappointed. From the time we arrived at the Shepler Ferry Dock, they notified the hotel we were coming. Our luggage was promptly picked up and delivered to our room. I opted to spend a little more for a harbor view and Room 300 was the best! We had an amazing balcony for relaxing and viewing the activities on the street below as well as the harbor. Sound was also not an issue, even being over the street we slept well with no interruptions - you can barely hear the ferry horns with the doors closed! The hotel itself has a fudge shop in the entryway, so for a sweet tooth, you wont have to go far. We felt all the staff was safe and wore masks and gloves. We received the bagged breakfasts a few days, nothing great but they are doing what they can during these times and we appreciated it. Otherwise, you have to grab breakfast over at the Pink Pony! We will be back and we will stay at this hotel again! Also the bicycle rental is right out the front door and the kayak tours are only a couple feet away. Located right in the heart of the Mackinac Harbor.

We recommend using Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry. They have overnight parking available in both Mackinaw City and St. Ignace.
