The Cottage Inn of Mackinac Island is a beautiful inn built with Victorian style and charm. The Cottage Inn was built in 2001 and we are proud to be one of the most modern B&B on Mackinac Island. We are located on quiet Market Street and are just one block from the downtown area. Ferry docks, Mackinac Island State Park, Historic Fort Mackinac, and the Mackinac Island Marina are just a short stroll away. We feature a large front porch for enjoying breakfast or just relaxing while taking in the clip-clop of the horse-drawn buggies passing by.

Detailed Reviews
I stayed at the Cottage Inn this past summer during the Covid Pandemic. I was very appreciative of being able to have a vacation and Dave and Rose went above and beyond to keep everyone safe. Our room was beautiful and clean! NO one was able to enter after the cleaning until we arrived. Although, housekeeping did NOT enter during our stay, Kenesha was always taking care of us. Fresh towels were delivered in a sanitary way and trash was put outside the door for removal. Breakfast wasn't Dave's usual hot meal but it was tailored to you and it arrived to your room at your specified time. The Cottage Inn enforced all safety guidelines while providing an enjoyable experience! I will definitely come back! Hats off to Rose and Dave! See you in 2021!

What a lovely Inn! This well kept, well run place puts you near the center of everything, but is tucked away enough that we felt like we weren't in the middle of the swarm of fellow tourists. The owners were very pleasant, offering all kinds of helpful hints about the island. The interior is warm and inviting while being updated and clean. Look forward to a return visit!

This was our first visit to Mackinac Island and staying at The Cottage Inn was certainly an added bonus of hospitality and location that really tied the whole trip and experience together. The location is perfect; a block in from all of the hoopla of ‘downtown’. The street is quiet and serene and enjoying breakfast and nightcaps on their lovely porch was a highlight of our time spent there. The Witt’s were the perfect hosts...very friendly, informative and helpful navigating the island. The place was immaculate and all precautions were taken during our Covid visit which was much appreciated! We will definitely stay at The Cottage Inn again!

We stayed in the bicycle rack room on the 2nd floor. The room & the entire house were spotless - very clean & well appointed. The innkeepers were super friendly & offered great suggestions about dining options when asked. The room we were in was a bit small & the bed is quite high so it might not be the best option for guests that do not get around very well. We spent some time on the front porch to enjoy a night cap and breakfast. It is a block off of Main Street so it is peaceful, but still enough action to keep you entertained.

We so enjoyed our stay hear!
Our room was small, but very clean and pleasant. We liked it because we are of a certain age and it’s on the first floor and didn’t have to climb stairs with our baggage. The food was amazing, every day was a different meal, and I actually asked for a few of their recipes. It’s also easy access from the ferry, And great location to walk to get a carriage ride, or go to the market, close to that Fort, restaurants and of course, the Grand Hotel .
We would definitely stay here again, the price was reasonable, I love sitting out on the porch just visiting with other guest, and watching the marvelous horses clip clop along, ( you can rent horses and carriages jut for two if you feel so inclined).

The staff was very welcoming and we came over on an early ferry and they let us store out bags! Wonderful front porch to sit on and enjoy the flowers. This bed and breakfast was one block off Main Street but was close to all activity! Recommendations for places to eat were right on! Rooms were very spacious. They provided snacks upon arrival. Breakfast was very good. Would stay again!

We stayed here for 2 nights in the Lilac Parlor room. The location is perfect -- a block away from busy Main Street, but within walking distance of everything (including The Grand and Arch Rock, which we walked to on different days). The room was comfortable and lovely, although blackout shades would be an improvement in addition to the blinds. The bathroom amenities included a hand-held magnifying mirror, which I always appreciate. Breakfasts were delicious, with hot dishes as well as continental options, and afternoon snacks were also provided. The front porch is a perfect place for watching the carriages and bicyclists go by.

There are many nice places to stay on the island but one thing that can’t be duplicated is the location. Cottage Inn is one street behind Main, which makes is close to the action but far enough from it that you can enjoy the clip clip of horses going by while eating breakfast in peace on the porch. There are still people who stroll by but not droves of people like we experienced on Main. Btw, many people who walked by stopped to take pictures of the inn because it’s simply charming.
Melissa and Kenesha were personable and accommodating and our Lilac Room on the 2nd floor was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good and we looked forward to afternoon snacks. In addition, coffee, tea, water and ice were always available.
We stayed at Cottage Inn on the recommendation of a friend and we were so happy we did.

My friends and I loved our stay at Cottage Inn. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Each room has a theme and is decorated to reflect that theme. The innkeeper and staff were very friendly and accommodating. We liked the location just one block up from the main street making it an easy walk from the ferry and yet quiet. Close to carriage rides, restaurants, and FUDGE! The breakfast was quite delicious each morning. They have a small but cozy dining area to eat or hang out as well as a nice front porch when the weather is nice. We would definitely go back.

The Cottage Inn is on Market Street, one block up from Main Street--Market Street definitely quieter. The room was comfortable and the entire property is extremely well kept. We have stayed in several B+B's with disappointing breakfasts, but not this one!! There were delicious homemade muffins, excellent mini-quiches, fresh juice, and excellent coffee. There were several tables in the living room and on the porch for eating or just relaxing later in the day. And every afternoon there were samples of fudge to try!! We would definitely stay here again.
