The Lilac Tree Suites is a beautiful place, staff has a great attention to detail to ensure all details are addressed. Room amenities are wonderful, including view, balcony, living area, kitchenette, and especially the milk & cookies each evening. Suite includes TV's in bedroom and living room, plenty of seating in living room, balcony equipped w/ chairs and end tables, plenty of closet space, and double sinks in the vanity area. Overall best place I have stayed in decades of traveling.
The location is perfect... it's right in the center of main street. The hotel itself was lovely. From check-in to check-out everything was smooth! The porter picked up our luggage at the docks and helped get us settled in quickly. The room was large with a large balcony with a view of the activities on main. The room was very comfortable, from the beds to all of the seating options in the main living area. It was nice to have a small area in the living area equipped with a bar sink and coffee maker. I can't wait to return!
I have always wanted to stay at a hotel on Mackinac Island. I wasn't sure if we could figure out how all of the luggage worked, which place to stay at, which Bed & Breakfast or what hotel. All of them look great. But, I've had my eye on the Lilac hotel for a long time. I've always wanted me & my husband to stay here. I am so thankful that we did. I cannot wait to come back next time. We are super grateful that we decided to stay here. The hotel is very beautiful & exquisite. Although we only had a short visit, we loved every single moment of us being at your hotel. Next time we will stay there at least 3 or 4 days. If there was a 10 star rating, your hotel would be it. The room was beyond what we could imagine. Very clean, very decorated well; and had everything that we needed. Thank you so much for having such a great hotel with great staff. Very remarkable & exquisite place to stay. Can't wait to come back again!…
Lilac Tree Suites is a great place to stay on Mackinac Island. When we arrived on the island, our luggage had already been taken to the hotel as it had come over on the previous ferry. The hotel is about a 2 block walk from Shepler's Dock. The front Reception Desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Since we arrived about 2 hours before check-in, they were going to store our luggage and call us when our room was ready. Just as we were leaving to explore, they received a message from Housekeeping that our room was ready. Great timing, as this allowed us to get settled in before we went out to explore the island. They called the porter who came back and brought the luggage up to the room. We had a double queen bed suite on the 3rd floor with a balcony looking out over Main Street and a view of the harbor. We really enjoyed this as it was a great way to people watch and carriage watch. It is a nice place to enjoy morning coffee or relax with a drink. The suites are very roomy, with the bedroom and living area separated by a spacious bathroom area. A pocket door can be pulled out to separate the areas if someone wants to sleep late. The bathroom has a toilet and shower in a closed room with a large area outside with 2 sinks. The living area has a wet bar, large mini fridge and microwave. There are glasses and coffee mugs. There is a Keurig coffee maker with a supply of pods. There are large TVs in both the bedroom and living area. Each night we came back to turned down beds and chocolates on the pillow. Given the central location, it is very close to most restaurants, shops and sights. The night before check out, we stopped at the front desk and the great staff helped with questions and suggestions about check out. About 15 minutes before we were going to check out the next morning, we called the front desk and they contacted the porter to come get our luggage. These guys do a great job with luggage on the island. They put tags on everything, ask if you are sure you have your ferry tickets and car keys and then load up the bags. We were able to take a leisurely last walk on Main Street before boarding the ferry. We highly recommend Lilac Tree Suites if you are staying on Mackinac Island. This is a wonderful hotel!!…
We were on the fourth floor in this quaint hotel and though we didn’t have a balcony or view of the lake our suite was beautifully furnished with separate sleeping and sitting areas. It was a treat to come in after a busy day to find our beds turned down and chocolate on our pillows! We loved the location as it was close to everything, restaurants, fudge, shops and carriage tours and bike rentals. If ever staying overnight on Mackinac Island again we will definitely try to stay here again!
Last year we had an unfortunate experience with a tiny room in another hotel on Mackinac Island. This year we had a wonderful experience with our suite at Lilac Tree Suites! A double queen bedroom divided from the living room by a spacious bathroom. A pocket door between the living room and bathroom enabled different sleeping times. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. We were on the top, fourth floor so our balcony overlooked Main Street and the lake. We will definitely try to get this suite again!
We loved our stay at the Lilac Tree Suites. We were on the 3rd floor with balcony overlooking Main Street. Plenty of room in this comfy and clean suite. Fridge and microwave and coffeemaker are a plus. Housekeeping was wonderful and friendly. You get a turndown bed service and if you are in the room they offer you cookies and milk If you are not in the room, then they put chocolate mints on your bed. It was nice to sit out on the balcony and watch the people below and hear the clippety clop of the horse and carriages. We could see the harbor from our room and the lake if we looked further down the street. The hotel is centrally located so that was great , too. Loved our stay
We had a room with a balcony view and it was great. We enjoyed sitting out on it relaxing. The room itself was large and clean. Definitely would stay there again. The location of it was great because it was close to everything downtown.
The front desk staff was extremely courteous. They made it feel like home by providing us a fan, extra stuff as we asked for. Very informative. Made restaurant recommendations. Serving milk and cookies/chocolates by the hotel, every evening was our favorite, and a unique amenity we have never encountered during our travels.
We have stayed at many different locations on Mackinac Island over the years, and keep returning to the Lilac Tree as the place we enjoy the most. The staff is super friendly, and the rooms quaint and beautifully decorated. The balconies overlooking Main Street are a wonderful way to watch the action in the town from above while enjoying a drink, some snacks, and conversation with friends. There is a wet bar with microwave and large minifridge in each room. There is a place to park your bikes in the back. The only down side compared to some of the other places we've stayed is that there is not an included breakfast.
