The welcoming wrap-around porch leads into hardwood floors and clawfoot tubs. Relaxing on the front porch, rocking chairs listening to the “clip-clop” of horses in the background is simply nostalgic. Within walking distance to the docks. They have thought of everything from comfy porch rockers, to crisp clean linens, robes and towels. Keepers are responsive and welcoming. Made sure that my gluten allergy wasn’t a problem at breakfast.
Only suggestion is slip prof mats in the tub and the beds are a bit hard. Would definitely return. Great stay for the price in high $season.

It was a short walk for my friend and me from the ferry to the lovely Pine Cottage. In our days on Mackinac, we were thankful for such a central location. We could walk to the main street easily and if we had to go far, the horse-drawn taxis would pull up right alongside Pine Cottage. Hosts, breakfasts, rooms, and even the welcoming look of the porch are wonderful. For one of the reasonably priced B & Bs on Mackinac Island, Pine Cottage offers conscientious helpful hosts, Victorian looks, scents of flowers, trees, and sea, flavorful snacks and breakfasts, and comfort. I had to do some work online and the internet service worked well. We had a room with a view of the harbor. What a treat! I highly recommend Pine Cottage.

You can’t go wrong with the Pine Cottage Inn it’s quiet the breakfast in the morning is amazing the innkeepers are very personable. The porch is lovely to sit on it’s right on the main street. The rooms are exceptionally clean. Don’t hesitate to use the pine cottage the price is reasonable compared to all the other places to stay on the island if you are on a budget.

We were in room 2 and it was so small that there was only one chair to use and it was a wood straight back chair. There was only about a foot of space between the wall on one side of the bed and about a foot and a half on the other side. When you opened the door from the hallway, It just about hit the foot end of the bed! The head of the bed was butt up against the only window in the room and the view was a building about a normal driveway away. The toilet ran, but they fixed it when we asked about it. When someone on the third floor took a shower, it sounded like it was running down the wall in our room. It was nice that the place was off the main street, The innkeeper was nice, but his wife rarely was seen and she did not appear to be happy. Breakfast was disappointing as it was mainly prepackaged food, with one casserole that was homemade. I would not stay here again. It was not up to the standards of the B&B where we usually stay.

Stayed here one night while visiting Mackinaw Island. Got the famous room #7 that previous visitors complained about. It is small with little to no surfaces i.e. dresser or desk to put your stuff on. There is a luggage rack and a SMALL shelf with a pipe attached to hold your clothes. This morning got to see the insides of the other rooms as cleaning staff left doors open. Other rooms have a small dresser and a sink which is nice considering the bathrooms are shared. Worst part of the stay was the shower. Water took forever to get warm and then when it did only dripped not sprayed out of the shower head. The hosts were courteous enough and the breakfast was good, but I would never stay here again nor recommend it. I have stayed in old hotels myself that were much more functional the owners just have to be creative on the use of space. I have also stayed in hotels that had shared baths but their baths worked. Feel ripped off

Perfect location, not far away from downtown and ferry docks but far enough that is quiet and peaceful. Gorgeous, clean, comfortable room with a beautiful view. The family that runs the hotel is very helpful and kind. Porter to and from ferry docks was super easy and made travelling easy. Breakfast and beverages were great but could have used a plant-based protein/egg option at breakfast. Staying at the Pine Cottage really was a highlight of our time on Mackinac Island and well worth the money.

This is are second time staying here, so that tells you we were satisfied with no complaints. The owners were very accommodating. I ran the Lilac race and finish at 11:00, I ask if I could come back and shower even though checkout time was 11:00. No problem…thank you. The rooms are small and clean with the beds comfortable. We didn’t spend any time in the room just for a good night sleep. Plus if you are on a budget it’s reasonable. It’s expensive to stay on the Island but well worth it. We just stay away from the Main Street which is very crowded during the day and wonderful in the late afternoon with less people. The location is on a quite street away from the hustle and bustle. We will come again.

This BnB is very nice with great access to the downtown area and lovely accommodations. AC is provided. Breakfast was great. Most rooms have a private bathroom although a few share the bath which is clear when booking. The staff are great, helpful, and friendly. Luggage transport to and from the ferries make it easy to check in and out. It’s an excellent choice.

Best vacation EVER. Been planning this for 3 years; and it lived up to all the hype and expectations. Communicated with Pete for months leading up to the trip. He was always timely, professional, and extremely helpful in his responses. Upon check-in and throughout the trip, found Pete & Caroline to be the perfect hosts. Pine Cottage B&B is perfectly located just off Main Street; near the action; but removed enough to have its own charm. The daily breakfast was wonderful; coupled with the afternoon cookies and tea. Reading on the porch in rocking chairs was very relaxing. Ok, we did love the tourist charm of Main Street; but for us we spent 4 days hiking and biking. Saw a great deal of the island; the loop around the island; and many of the interior trails. You securely want to enjoy dinner at the 1852 Grill at the Island House Hotel; and do something unique like make a knife with Chad Osbourne at Forge A Memory. We will definitely be back to enjoy the relaxation and charm of Pine Cottage B&B. Pete and Caroline, many thanks, you were the best possible hosts.

My husband and I spent (2 nights) our second anniversary at Pine Cottage. We had a two bedroom suite with an in-suite bathroom. There was a kitchenette that contained a sink, microwave and dorm size fridge. Prepared breakfast consisted of freshly baked items: bacon & cheese quiche, and cinnamon casserole. There was fresh fruit, bagels, cold cereal, boiled eggs, juice, milk, coffee, and tea. Afternoon cookies were delicious fresh baked peanut butter & chocolate chips and raisin oatmeal. My only complaint is that room 16 started to smell like a dog(s) had been there previously. I suffer pet allergies. Our view allowed us to see the Annual Lavender Parade.
