We have been here three times for family get together soon but each time we leave disappointed. It makes a big deal of 2-4-1s but the bill always ends up just as expensive as 1-4-1 and this time the service was diabolical - very slow and inaccurate. Shame

Very decent budget accommodation, easy access to the motorway. All staff found to be very friendly and always helpful and obliging. The food has always been excellent quality (good chefs) and surprisingly not expensive.

Booked and after reading reviews emailed requested room at the back of the hotel and asking check in/out times. I have yet to receive a reply to my email.... When we arrived we were put in a front facing room which faces onto the A38. We complained but were told no other rooms were available although this was early afternoon.... More

We stayed here to break up our journey between Yorkshire and Plymouth, really comfortable rooms with a very nice breakfast and 2 for 1 meals in the evening. All in all a good value and comfortable stop. 10/10

After having checked in & had a couple of drinks in the lovely"secret garden" we went out for the evening. On our return we could not get in the room. After tries by the staff I asked that an emergency locksmith be called as all our belongings were in the room. We were told that the wait could be 3... More

Overall very pleased, was it not for the strange menu system in the restaurant I would have given it 5 stars. Everything on the menu is 2 for the price of one, as a single traveller this is not a fair deal. Other than that the rooms were very good, clean, fast wifi, easy parking.

Visited this pub late afternoon/early evening. The pub was exceptionally busy due to the lovely day. The staff seemed under a lot of pressure but they appeared calm and were polite and professional. The food was very good and two 12oz ribeyes for under 18quid what's not to like. The steaks were cooked well and the meat was juiced and... More

I think ive just eaten the worlds smallest 10oz rump steak. If im honest I think it was probably cheap frying steak as it was very small and extremely thin (very thin) however it was cooked as requested which is the only good point. This was not 10 oz's of meat trust me. Ive been coming here on/off for years... More

My colleagues and I stayed here for a week, and it served its purpose well. The upsides are the friendly staff, the satisfying food, the nice garden, and the convenient location. The downsides are the noise of the very busy road for the front rooms, and the kitchen extractor fan for the rear rooms. I'd not chose The Crown for... More
