We stayed at Candlelite for two nights and it was an excellent experience. Such great hospitality. The room was very comfortable with so many nice touches. The breakfast and the baked goods which were available all day were absolutely outstanding. The staff was so accommodating and the town has such a relaxed pace. Everything was just perfect and we hated to leave. We will return!

My husband and I just spent 2 nights at the Candlelite Inn in Ludington wish I could give it 10 stars. Melanie, Chuck and Chris were so nice. Treated us like family! The house and grounds were wonderful and well kept. Beverages whenever you wanted them, food always available, if one goes hungry it’s their own fault! Melanie always makes sure there is some wonderful goodies for everyone. Breakfasts are OUTSTANDING!!!! More than enough to eat. Everyone is so kind and friendly but not “in your face” . Very relaxing, very comfortable, very homey.

We loved our stay here!! Melanie was so kind and welcoming, and probably the best cook I've ever met. She and her son made us such an amazing breakfast, and was so considerate in making us feel comfortable. It was lovely to visit during Christmastime: super cozy in the house, and we even saw a Christmas parade go right down the street. I would definitely like to visit again!!

Melanie and her boys are wonderful hosts. We went with a group of friends and had a wonderful time out on the sunny porch playing games. The bed was comfortable and rooms were quiet. We never heard anyone else even though the rooms were full. The décor is not my style but appropriate for the time period. The breakfast and treats were over the top. We had the fresh baked goods all through the day and she even made some special requests. It is close to town and you could easily walk and/or ride bikes to restaurants, shopping, and the beach. They are excellent bakers and cooks.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Candlelite Inn a couple of weeks ago, and we cannot wait to return! The house and the room are very quaint and clean and the location is superb (less than a mile to town and the water), but the real gem or secret sauce is Melanie and her team. Melanie's breakfasts are out of this world - honestly everything we ate was amazing and each breakfast had many, many options/sides! Melanie also went out of her way to make our stay special, including asking us our preferences for breakfast and making a birthday cake for my boyfriend. She supported us with making plans in town, and the grounds are so wonderful - in the back there is a calming, small waterfall near the patio and there is a hammock - that we enjoyed winding down on the grounds after a visit to the state park. We were extremely pleased and look forward to staying with Melanie again soon. We cannot thank you enough!

We were on a color tour and reserved a room here due to its great reviews and close proximity to downtown and the beach area. The room was clean, the shower hot and the environment warm and friendly. The host Melanie made the most amazing 7 layer bars for dessert and a wonderful egg soufflé for breakfast! She made sure we had an awesome breakfast before we left. There are plenty of movies and board games to keep you busy in case it rains. We will certainly be back!

I stayed at the Candlelite Inn B&B in July 2022 for a quick solo getaway. I walked over from the car ferry dock. It's a healthy distance away, but it was enjoyable to see what downtown Ludington had to offer. There are many historic mansions and B&Bs along the way (Ludington Ave). I was welcomed by Melanie and her family who are so kind, friendly and focused on their guests! I stayed in the Lace Room which was ideal for one guest. Each morning I woke up to the most amazing smells coming from the kitchen below! Such delicious breakfasts with so many tasty offerings, it was the best start to each of the two days I spent in Ludington. The outdoor seating area was a highlight for sure! For my departure, Melanie offered a box to take home a few treats and even provided me with transportation back to the ferry dock. I had planned to walk but was grateful for the ride and conversation with Chuck. I'm so glad that accommodations like this are available! In addition to the warmth and kindness of Melanie and her family, each person I encountered as I walked through town and the beach area was also very friendly. I look forward to going back to Ludington and the Candlelite Inn, via the Badger Ferry, of course! Perfect vacation.

We loved staying at the Candlelite Inn. The hosts really love what they do and they obviously love baking. The breakfasts and desserts were incredible.

We've been to a lot of bed and breakfasts but never to one where they cared so much about what you wanted. We will definitely visit again.

We had a fabulous time celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Our room was so comfy and clean. Melanie surprised us with some special added touches knowing it was our anniversary. The breakfast and treats throughout the day were made for a queen/king. The stocked fridge was such a fun added bonus!
The jam from the Jam Lady was delicious. The sound and view of the outdoor water fountain was so relaxing. Can’t wait to return!

If you enjoy a stay at a bed and breakfast, you should not miss the Candlelite Inn when you are in the Ludington area. The room was very cozy and comfortable, the hosts were amazing, and the incredible breakfasts were such a treat. The sweets available all the time were a very nice touch. Melanie and Chris obviously love what they are doing and do everything possible to make your stay memorable. We have stayed at many bed and breakfast throughout our travels, and Candlelite Inn easily ranks among our favorites.

Which room has the jacuzzi? Is that considered the deluxe room?

Thank you so much for your question. The Romantic Retreat Suite is the most spacious room, with a Jacuzzi for two and all of the trimmings. The deluxe rooms are the Ludington, Michigander, Alicia's and Victorian.
