Very Poor. Having booked this hotel online, we turned up on the Saturday evening, and were asked to pay more - we had to correct them with the price we had booked for, which they accepted but said they hadn’t been told this price. The first room we went to clearly hadn’t been cleaned from the previous occupant - it was dishevelled with dirty bedding heaped in a crumpled mess on the bed, large half-empty juice carton on the table, bins full etc etc. The second room we were offered was dated and shabby and didn’t have any heating (in January??!). The radiators were stone cold but we were told they would come on in around 15 minutes which never happened. Eventually a small fan heater was brought. We were offered a third room which they said had heating but by this time we had unpacked and were tired. We decided to cut our losses instead of packing things up again and being shunted to a third room. Lucky that I’d brought a hot water bottle with me and we doubled up a spare duvet on top of the one that was supplied on the bed. We also decided we’d spend as little time as possible in this hotel, leaving early in the morning and returning late in the evening. Couldn’t wait to get out and will never go there again.

I’ve been working away and staying in hotels 3/4 nights a week for over 20 years and can honestly say for £65 this was a the worst room I’ve ever stayed in . Can’t speak for the restraint or bar didn’t bother as everywhere was generally a bit unclean and tidy for me . I don’t know where the rooms on the website are but they are certainly not room 14 on the ground floor . Very Dirty ,dingy and badly maintained . Absolutely no effort to even make this room remotely pleasant . Shouldn’t even be letting it out for people to stay in .I recommend whoever is in charge of the establishment go in that room and have a good look around , may I suggest next to the radiator where someone has kindly wiped the contents of there nose . Say no more I won’t be going back ever !! Horrible experience

The car park, which is rough, is pitch black, no lighting at all so you cannot see where you are putting your feet. Be very careful at the entrance (especially ladies if you are wearing heeled shoes). There is a long grating across the entrance and if you catch your heel in it (as I did), and you fall down then the grate comes out of the ground behind you attached to your shoe. I didn’t make a complaint at the time (embarrassed at falling over!) but called in to hotel 2 days after. I explained to the receptionist what had happened but got no reaction apart from “thanks for letting us know, we’ll get it looked at! She didn’t ask if I had hurt myself! No apology! As for the food, I had the fish and chips. The chips were ok but there was too much batter and not much fish inside! The waitresses were lovely, couldn’t fault them.

First time visiting here, wish I’d come before.. Booked a table on Wednesday night at 7 for me and my wife for her birthday in the restaurant. The service of the 2 young girls was excellent and then the food WOW it’s on a whole new level I reckon they must have Gordon or Marco working secretly in the kitchens. The starters are amazing and the steak with the biggest onion rings n chips you have ever seen I was in heaven. Then to top it off we got 25% off the bill as it was a Wednesday night n I had the fillet. Will be coming back every month now. Love it !!!! Thank You
