The Snowbird Inn is a year-round, family owned and operated bed and breakfast in the heart of Leelanau County. We have five guest rooms each with private bath, air conditioning, free wifi and serve a full breakfast daily. Guests enjoy generously sized rooms, proximity to wineries, shopping and restaurants from our 18 acre country estate .We prioritize guest comfort above all else, and to that end do not allow smoking in the inn. We also cannot accommodate your pets, and welcome only well-behaved children over the age of six.

We loved our stay at the Snowbird Inn! We stayed during an extended weekend in October. The setting is beautiful. Alice was incredibly welcoming, warm, kind and full of knowledge for things to see, do and experience around the area. I can't remember what the name of the room was in which we stayed. It was the room at the back of the house, near the bathrooms for a couple of the other rooms, also directly above the kitchen.I thought noise might be an issue given the location but it was not at all. We did have our own bathroom and that is one thing I would recommend when you book your room. Make it known you want your bathroom in your room if that is a priority for you. Breakfast both days was incredible! If you left hungry it was on your own fault. There was water for us each day with lemon or mint or whatever. The room and bed were comfortable. The first night we were there we sat on the veranda, the next 2 nights were inside as it was a bit too cool outside. There was space to sit and read. We did that in the mornings as well since coffee was available starting at 0730 and breakfast was from 0830 to 0930. I definitely thing we'll visit again during another time of the year.

Our stay at the Snowbird Inn was fine. We arrived around 7:30 pm, which was too late to meet the very nice innkeeper, Alice. We were presented with an introduction sheet and keys via tacked to the outside door envelope. I mention this because we were not given a tour of the house because of our late arrival. This helps explain us not knowing where some things were. The room we were given is named "Elsie", which is a good-sized room with a small collapsable-sided table with two chairs to work at if you have a laptop, two bedside stands, another small table that is easily moved around and we used to hold a fan, a dresser with a mirror, a winged-back chair, a closet for hanging clothes, and of course a queen-sized bed. I happen to need to do some brief work on my laptop while we stayed, which was not an easy task as my work required a wifi signal and that signal is not strong enough in that room (upstairs and front of the house). I had to use my phone as a hotspot in order to have a strong enough signal to work. The wi-fi signal does get stronger as you walk down the hall towards the back of the house, however. The bed in the Elsie room is very uncomfortable. You can feel the metal springs through the top of the bed, which had a lasting affect on my back. The bedroom has four windows — one that is on one wall and three that face the road. Of those three, which are side-by-side, there is a large window in the middle. The shade to the larger window does not pull down for privacy. When changing you have the choice of using the closet or going to the other end of the house to the bathroom. The large bathroom for this room is at the opposite end of the house, same floor. It is labeled as the private bath for the Elsie room but there is no lock on it on the outside of the door so anyone can use it at any time. There is a lock on the inside to keep anyone from coming in while it is in use. It is a bit awkward to tip-toe to the bathroom, passing three other rooms, and slowly turning the squeaky knob to use the facilities knowing you may be disturbing another guest. No different if you were staying at a friend's home; just not a comfortable situation. Our first breakfast was fine; served buffet style. The second morning breakfast was served directly to you at the table and was fantastic. Coffee is available in a pump dispenser so that you can help yourself while Alice is preparing your food. She did come around with a french press to refill coffee cups if wanted, which was nice. If you want tea, however, there is no label explaining where to find it. Because I couldn't find tea the first morning, I went back to my room to get the teabag I brought with me. That afternoon, I did knock on the kitchen door to ask where the tea was located, which is the cupboard under the location of the electric teapot, if anyone needs to know. I'm sure had I searched, I would have found it, but it seemed wrong to search through someone else's home. Overall, we'll try Snowbird Inn another time, but would not stay in the Elsie room again. Other hotel guests seems to rave about their stay so I want to give it another go to see if another room would give us a much better stay.

My wife and I spent an amazing weekend at the Snowbird Inn the last weekend of July. The scenic beauty of the property coupled with our comfortable, clean room made for a wonderful stay. The gourmet breakfast meals were out of this world. We were accustomed to continental style when we stayed at other hotels in TC over the years and this blew us away. The location of this 100 year old quaint Inn allows for a short trip to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes on Lake Michigan, Leland, Northport and Suttons Bay. You won't fine a nicer hostess than Alice who by the way was personally responsible for our wonderful morning meals. We will be back. Phil and Suzanne

We recently spent four nights in the "Thelma" room complete with its own ensuite (vs. going down the hall to a private one). Amenities and services by the Psenka family were tip-top right down to bottled water in our room every day, fresh wine glasses, fresh high-ball glasses plus housekeeping services. Lisa and her mother, Alice, are top of the line innkeepers from the welcoming visits, snacks, and breakfasts to die for right down to dessert after breakfast! Alice and Lisa sat with us, if they had time, to visit while we ate. Roaming the property was just the best; they truly made us feel like family! I honestly thought I was back on Grandma's farm. Seriously. Just GO!

So I’ve traveled to the Leelanau Peninsula over twenty times in my life for vacation, wine tasting or weddings and I have passed the Snowbird Inn countless times. This past June I was finally able to check it out. The Snowbird Inn is by far is my favorite place to stay. Alice and a bottle of wine greeted us. Beyond being an excellent host, she has an incredibly cute bed and breakfast that speaks to the surrounding areas of Northern Michigan. The Snowbird is ideally nestled in between Glen Arbor and Leland which allows for many options regarding activities. When I’m back in the area, I will be staying at the Snowbird.
